I always launch my game with DCS_updater.exe in the bin folder. Open the bin folder and right click on DCS_updater.exe, select Send To and then Desktop. Works every time and also lets me know when an update is available.

Creating Clouds with Dynamic Weather Tab
rayrayblues replied to Bosun's topic in Clouds & Weather System
It's true. No more clouds in dynamic weather. Wind and rain appear but clouds are light scattered at best. -
Now that they are gone, I miss them. They were kinda fun.

@BIGNEWY Thank you BN.

@Flappie Yes I see the cowboy, but I also see this symbol along with it. This is exactly what I see. p.s. Clearing the cache made no difference. I still see the symbol next to the emoji and I can't see flags at all. (See earlier post)

Something is going on with the emoji's on my forum. IDK if it's on my end, or yours, but they are pretty much unusable, even received ones from others. Happening in the past few days. @BIGNEWY @Flappie

View system default FOV now at 78 instead of a realistic 60?
rayrayblues replied to 85th_Maverick's topic in DCS 2.9
Okay @SharpeXB I have read this whole thread several times over and I still don't understand why zoom is not relative to binoculars. Zoom doesn't do anything that binoculars or other optical aids do. It simply brings distant objects closer. Ever since WW1 pilots have carried binocs. Then in Korea and Vietnam, enhanced optics were integrated into the helmet. The zoom feature is not cheating because everyone has it and there is no unfair advantage to using it. To me, OTH or BVR technology is more like cheating than anything else, getting killed from 20 or 30 miles away has got to hurt, but that is a feature of the aircraft IRL. -
IDK....I think it only seems exaggerated because it's a computer simulation focused on a screen or in VR glasses. I live in Arizona, in the Southern United States, about 200 miles north of the Mexican border and just driving my car at sunset is awful. The same is true for sunrise, but I'm not a morning person. The glare that I see in game is no worse. I don't see much more glare than that in game. I would hate to be flying a real plane in these conditions.

Airplanes have very small tires in relation to the mass of the plane resulting in a small contact patch. They skid really easy, especially when braking from ~100kn or so. It's not comparable to a car. If you map your brakes to an axis, you can use saturation or curves to apply them slowly.

A proper pushback feature is more important and necessary for parking above or below decks. -
