  1. On 3/12/2023 at 5:21 AM, Top Jockey said: Also, adding the DCS MT shortcut to the NVidia control panel seemed to greatly enhance performance regarding the stutters. There is only one shortcut in NCP. It's called Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark DCS.exe. NCP doesn't recognize MT as a separate program, because it is not a separate program. It is a preview consisting of .dll files. @Top Jockey As a rule of thumb, less is more when it comes to NCP settings. Virtually all of my settings are either "off" or "Enhance Application Settings". I don't use anything that limits something. I want "all pipes open" and let the frames flow. I don't have the Tomcat, but I'll put some FA-18's on the 59 and get back to you.
  2. What do you mean by awacks? If you're referring to the plane with the big radar dish on top, It's AWACS, otherwise, what do you mean?
  3. I wouldn't hold my breath. I've been lobbying for years for WW11 planes to belch smoke on engine start up. Now that would really add to the immersion.
  4. @Taz1004 I can't check right now; this didn't also make ship wakes smaller, did it?
  5. Yes, looks like it, especially for those of us with less than stellar machines.
  6. I concur. I have been up all night going back and forth with BigNewy and then along came Zildac.
  7. @Patrick56 Any luck yet with the squirrel? I know your busy with the Cobra, I get that, but can you maybe start on the squirrel when you're done with the Cobra? BTW: It doesn't matter if you use OB or MT. It does the same on both servers. Will not descend, (You have to dive to get down) and won't stay on the ground even when the collective is all the way down. Thanks in advance, Ray. Tinian Hidden Base.miz
  8. @BIGNEWY Here is the .miz file. When I run it in OB, the smoke looks fine. When I run it in MT the smoke goes crazy. Smoke Test_3.miz
  9. I ran this on both systems and on MT the smoke marker looks more like napalm.
  10. @Top Jockey So I do. My bad. Thanks @draconus Now corrected.
  11. I have a slightly different philosophy. Less is more. Don't limit frames and turn off vsync and gsync. You do need some MSAA. Don't add too much from NCP. Rely mostly on in game settings. Since our computers are almost identical, I will share my settings with you. Let me know. Ray
  12. FWIW,....I have never used Vsync. When I was playing War Thunder years ago, it was universally belived that Vsnc and Gsync were more of a hindrance than a help. I still believe that to be true and I have them turned off in game and NCP. Try running without them and let me know how it goes. Ray EDIT: Set your monitor back to 1080p. Afterburner will allow you to overclock your GPU. It is a very safe and useful tool. You can't damage your system with Afterburner. It is self-limiting. When you reach a setting that is too much, it will tear the screen and at most CTD. Gradually back off on the settings and try again. R
  13. What part of your system is overheating? Can you send screenshot of your system temps?
  14. Do you have MSI Afterburner? One other little trick I use to reduce stutters is to change priority in task manager. Make sure game is open. 1. Open Task Manager 2. Open Details tab. 3. Right click on DCS.exe and select Set Priority. 4, Change from normal to high. You may have to do this every time you play, but it's worth it. All of the MT changes are very subtle. It's nice to be able to watch the FPS meter and make comparisons, but I find that to be mostly distracting. It's more about what you don't notice than what you do. The 1660Ti is a pretty good card given the price. Yes, you can overwhelm it, but you can also overwhelm a 4090. Until I get rich and can afford to spend 3 to 4 grand on a high-end system, I am happy that I can play at all. I'm not trying to set the world on fire, I just want to play and if there is a small glitch or stutter, so be it. I accept the fact that I don't have a hot machine. BTW, just like you, I only play SP. Ray
  15. Try RCtrl+Pause. Counter should appear in upper left of screen.
  16. I have a very similar system. I am running an FX9590 CPU. 4.7 Gb 8 cores. I also have the same GPU card as yours the GTX 1660 Ti. I have had it since it was new. My settings are almost maxed out and except for a very occasional stutter, it runs just fine. Currently, with MT, I am getting 50 to 90 FPS on most of the map and it only drops below that whenever there is heavy carpet bombing from 12 to 16 B-17's going on. You should have no trouble. IDK if 4 cores will be enough though. Let me know how it goes. I may be of some help for you. Send us a track at least.
  17. And away we go.. I spoke too soon. 7:00am Arizona USA time, no update yet.
  18. I don't see two yellow levers in the squirrel. The only thing moving is the collective. I can control it by using "Page Up" and "Page Down" to control throttle for landing, however when spawning in hot, the chopper leaps into the air instantly. Is there a procedure to cold start the Squirrel?
  19. All other helos work with my controller. The squirrel is the only one that behaves like this and did not do this before the fix. I used to fly it a lot with the same controller, then the 2.8 update came and it began crashing to desktop. Now that you have fixed the crashing, it won't stay on the ground. I have always used OVGME with no problems, my Cobra flies ok. The only problem I have is with the squirrel not sticking to the ground. Also, @Stratosthe "special options" for custom cockpit is listed under Ka-50.
