In order to Refuel/Rearm/Repair an airplane at an helicopter FARP, Just park alongside of it and ask the ground crew just like at an airport. It is not necessary for your wheels to touch the FARP. If the crew doesn't respond, try again. Sometimes you have to ask twice. This demonstration is in SP. I don't know about MP, I don't play it.

It used to. I check and let you know. Thanks for the compliment, my heart is breaking for my people. I am second generation Ukrainian American. My grandfather was born in Lviv.
-
You don't have to physically touch the FARP. You can refuel if you are within 100 meters.

@sSkullZnBoneZz Thank you so much for this. I have always thought that the stock sounds of the Huey were off as well. This mod works very well. Sound more like a Huey for sure. Thank you Skullz for all of your hard work. I took the liberty of changing the weapons sounds. To my ear, I think that these sound better. Let me know what you think. I tried to make the M60 sound for left and right, but couldn't do it. The Miniguns work just fine for left and right, but not the M60's. Maybe you can tell me what I did wrong. Thanx again, Ray Ray's Sounds.zip

Here's a page from New Egg. Amazon doesn't have any Ti's and non Ti's are going for $400.00. Mine is the EVGA 1660 Ti SC Black The cheapest one on NE is $688.00. Quite a jump from $279.00.

I agree. The sad part though is the recent massive hike in GPU prices. My 1660Ti was $279.00 US when I bought it 3 years ago. It is now upwards of $1000. For those of us on limited budgets, it's going to be difficult to keep up with the times. Anything that ED can do to improve things from their end will be a Godsend.

Bell 47 Flyable Helicopter
rayrayblues replied to Dweeeeb's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Not quite. Is there any way to get rid of the warning notices? Here I am using the invisible carrier. P.S I can't place the invisible carrier on lakes. -
Bell 47 Flyable Helicopter

Does it work with the Bell-47 floats? If so, how do I implement it? -
Bell 47 Flyable Helicopter
rayrayblues replied to Dweeeeb's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
@Dweeeeb Hey Buddy, I got it sorted out. It seems that there was a copy of the mod in my Tech Folder. Now how in the f**k did that get there?? It was keeping me from making any changes. As soon as I deleted it, the HelicopterFan sound came through. Thanks for all of your hard work. Now, maybe someday ED will implement water ditching and landings so that I can use the floats and also fly my WWI Felixstowe properly. -
Bell 47 Flyable Helicopter

I hate to keep bugging you, but the new .sdef file doesn't work. I still have the same rotor sound. I replaced it in the .sdef folder like you said. No change. Is there something I'm missing? Do I have to change anything with the AH-6J? -
Upuart's and nibbylot's Bell-47 Version 3.0
rayrayblues replied to Hawkeye60's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
@Hawkeye60 I got the sound problem sorted out, thanks, but I do have one other question though, Is it possible to change the "Rotor" sound to the "HelicopterFan" sound? That one is more accurate to the a way Bell-47 is supposed to sound. It's the sound I remember from my youth living near the Sun Helicopters Base in Miami, Fla. in the 60's. (yes I'm old) I used to watch them take off, fly over and land all day. It is also the sound from countless TV shows and movies including M*A*S*H. Take a quick listen to the files. The one named "Rotor" does not sound like a Bell-47 at all. The one named "HelicopterFan" does. Thank you in advance Helo sounds.zip -
Bell 47 Flyable Helicopter
rayrayblues replied to Dweeeeb's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Now I'm really confused. I took out two mods that I recently installed, The Mods Helicopter Series JSGME 2.7.10 and the UH-60L. The sound came back, yay. I put the mods back in one at a time and the problem never returned. All mods are working and the Bell-47 sounds are back. I do have one other question though, Is it possible to change the "Rotor" sound to the "HelicopterFan" sound? That one is more accurate to the a way Bell-47 is supposed to sound. It's the sound I remember from my youth living near the Sun Helicopters Base in Miami, Fla. in the 60's. (yes I'm old) I used to watch them take off, fly over and land all day. The one named "HelicopterFan" does. Thank you in advance p.s. Thanks also for fixing the WWl mod. I missed it while it was gone. Helo sounds.zip -
I don't have to say much. The pictures tell the whole story. Nose to Tail is best for aiming rockets and the *gun. Rockets fire straight ahead in line with the airframe. *If you don't have head tracking or VR, you will use a fixed sight and the bullets will fire straight ahead.

There are keyboard bindings available to help you fine tune your trim. What I do is fly until my airspeed, vertical speed and slip ball are where I want them, set trim, and then use these to smooth things out. I then set the attitude hold and I can fly hands off for a long time once it's dialed in. I don't need the CI either. These are the default bindings. You can set them to other buttons or a hat switch if you like. A real "Quality of Life" feature. BTW I am using "Center Trim" because I just can't get a handle on "Instant Trim" It doesn't work for me. Believe me I've tried.
-
You can try using the "Instant Trim" setting, but it takes a little getting used to.

So far the most informative and intelligent post in this thread so far. (Including my own) BigNewy appeased the "pro reset button" folks on page 12. Can we all just calm down and move on?

The red X follows the white diamond. What do you mean it does nothing? Have you even tried it???

Isn't "What The Aircraft Is Doing" the whole point? Why is it so important to know "where your controls" are? I've heard that a lot in this thread. My physical controls are spring loaded so they are always centered. Where my virtual controls are is not important. The helicopter knows where they are and that's all that counts. Fly without the controls indicator and you will understand what I mean. Where you are going, speed, altitude, vertical speed, sideslip etc. are all there is to know. After your emergency maneuver just fly straight & level, release the button, re-trim, and have a nice day. BTW, if you are trimming during emergency maneuvers you're in trouble. Cancel the trim by holding the button. You see, there is a reset function after all and it won't pitch up and stall.
-
If you have no idea where your controls are then you are not looking at the HUD. No need for the CI. Everything you need to know is on the HUD. Altitude, speed, sideslip ball, and direction of travel. What more do you need?
-
I believe that most of you are overthinking the whole thing. Remember that there are 3 other trim buttons that haven't been implemented yet. Give ED some slack. We may even have to go back to the beginning and re-learn everything once the other trimmers are mapped, be patient. For sudden combat/evasive maneuvers, believe it or not, press and hold the trim button and you can make any maneuvers you want without losing control. It cancels your trim and gives you full control, then while still holding the button, recover to a normal flight path and release. Retrim as necessary to level off. I have tried it with and without holding the button and holding the button works. (for me at least) Without holding the button, I crash every time. I encourage everyone to at least give it a try. BTW I am using center trim with a spring stick and pedals. As long as I hold the button I can whip her around like a sports car. Note: This technique is only for emergency maneuvers, not for normal trimming.

He was demonstrating the "something wrong." Trying to turn with stick only. When yaw AP is on you must use the pedals to turn. I have been flying the 24 since EA and I use the yaw AP all the time. I don't get "Tangled Up" because I use it correctly. Turning without pedals will tangle up the trim settings and so resetting trim fixes it. He must have also had rudder trim checked in special settings. He was showing us how to get out of a bad situation, that you shouldn't have gotten into in the first place. As I said above, "if you're getting tangled up, you're doing something wrong.
