You do understand that 6Km = 3.72 miles and 8Km = 4.97 miles, almost 4 to 5 miles. If you can spot a small fighter plane at those distances, then hats off to you. I'll bet most of us can't.

Set it and forget it. No need to save anything. -

The AI can't "see" you, they don't have eyes. They just know that you're there. It's like they're telepathic or psychic. As mentioned above they "sense" you at about 6 km which is f****** ridiculous. No human can see or aim at that distance.

WTF does your car have anything to do with DCS? Apples & Oranges.

@SUNTSAG Is this mod broken now? I can't get it to work anymore. I have all of the updates and texture files, but everything is green. I tried to download it again, but the links above are broken. Thanks in advance. Ray

Sounds like you need War Thunder.

Yep. At least you got rid of the twist. -

I never use it. There's no real function for it because what ever options you set will always be there for all missions. -
If you set yourself up with four or more planes set for client, you can just go to Esc/Choose Slot and jump back into the fight.

That's the ticket. Force trim is for straight ahead cruise. With a spring centered joystick, it gives your arm a break. Release the trim when maneuvering, landing and hovering and you will be amazed.

@Havner I find that the best way to handle replays is don't watch them right away. Save them FIRST then close the game. Make a copy of it then restart the game before watching. Don't accelerate the time. Set it on F2 external view and don't change it. You can adjust the viewing angle, but don't zoom to much or use F3. Don't stop it early. Let it play out then save it again. If it messes up, try the backup copy. GL&HF -

I have to agree that the twist stick has to go. You must put your rudder axis on a separate device. I used one for years with War Thunder and Heliborne and never noticed that it wasn't a problem because those are arcade games. But when I went to DCS, I always ended up accidently adding rudder when using the pitch and roll, there's too many axis's on one stick. I am handicapped and can't use my feet. I mapped the yaw to the rocker axis on the back side of my throttle. Maybe this would be a better option for you. instead of pedals. You wouldn't have to worry about space under your desk or wheels on your chair. Having the rudder separate from the stick was a real gamechanger for me. -

and use mouse to aim and shoot.

As a former Log. 3D user, I was always having trouble with yaw. At least for me, I needed to have my yaw on a separate device, not on the twist grip. I couldn't manage 3 axes's on 1 stick. I picked up a TM T Flight HOTAS X for about 70 bucks and never looked back. Amazon.com: THRUSTMASTER T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick (PS3 & Windows) : Video Games It's little short on buttons and only has 1 hat switch, but works really well with the rudder mapped to the rocker on the back of the throttle. I have mobility issues and can't use pedals. My legs and feet don't work the way they used to. It was well within my limited budget and also has a screw to lock the stick so it doesn't turn. It sure beats a $500+ Warthog when you're poor like me.

Labels are enabled two places. Settings/Gameplay/Labels, and Mission Editor/ Set Mission Options. (The little check mark just above the green Fly Mission button.) Both of you need to have them on the same setting. ex: Full, Abbreviated, Symblol Only, etc. Let me know if this helps. Ray

@Frag I think the best way and the way some people do it is to have another person there in spectator mode recording all of the external views at the same time that the pilot is recording the cockpit views using Bandicam, FRAPS, Shadow Play etc. Then using a timeline type editor, (I use Nero Video) you can splice everything together. No track replays needed.

and you know all of this because??????

I would think so. The pinup model is definitely from the 60's (I was a teenager in the 60's, I should know) and besides, it says Vietnam in the upper left-hand corner. Close enough for me.
