  1. I killed my cable that way and still wait for a replacement. Worked well from day one (stupid clip broke at first install) but developed a broken cable later on. Just check for bend marks and maybe think about fixing it a different way.
  2. Might all be true, I'm seeing a gain in playability with alike "goodness" of the picture in my index with going down on PD and raise of SS Imagination? Might be. I don't care, glad I tried it and I will stay with that nonsensical voodoo.
  3. Currently, like I mentioned, my G2 is dead due to, in my opinion, a defective cable. Compared to valve, the hp customer service is sub par, which I think also of the headset and controller. Don't even get me started on WMR. BUT I really miss the picture of the G2 and with a custom face mask the FOV is also Okish. A lot of the griefs with hmds I believe is the poor vr performance of DCS. I would never think about other headsets or spending a lot of money on a cpu/GPU Update if I only would play e.g half life alyx. I don't miss anything with the index in half life, to the contrary, the hp controller suck big time there..... But anyhow, I'm just looking for the perfect DCS experience, so here we go, a lot of money need to be spend again, even if I hate it and my conscious mind tells me that I better open the window and throw the money out, so at least someone will be happy.....
  4. Valve Index 2 !!! My G2 is currently out of order due to a hardware defect. Waiting also for the Deca. Will decide after first impressions are in. If the current valve index would just have higher res and less godrays I wouldn't even bother to look for something else.
  5. After downloading and installing there always comes the popup new Version available. After setup Version number is still 2.1.1.0
  6. It worked on the A-10 (the new one - don't even know the designation but had to collect her ) but I tested only 2 of the 3 (?) Radios due to the fact that I have only 2 PTTs defined (What I need for the Tomcat) The command was "Select 2 5......"
  7. Yeap, did work for me, at least with 2 Radios. I'm not flying the A-10 and got only two radios set up for my F-14
  8. You won't see the jester wheel any more, that's what vaicom is for. For the few things you still need it for, like input waypoints and stuff, the command is "Jester options" Just options opens the comm menu. Jester tells vaicom to wait for an order (the beep)
  9. I can't talk about virpil, but I replaced my TM Warthog stick with a VKB and being happy now. Did a lot of moding on the TM but never achieved the results I get with the VKB Base. Currently I fly the F-14 almost exclusively and the VKB F-14 Grip is very nice. Got a couple of other grips but only change if I plan to fly other planes for a longer period. There are also sets for fitting TM grips, but that is not as easy as with the virpil base I believe.
  10. I can't help, but I will follow this thread because I think this could be become a great solution for the interaction with the cockpit.
  11. I got the same problem and I believe it is the cable. My clip broke pretty early after receiving the hmd and so I fixed the cable with zip ties. That seems to be not an good idea. After I hat brief black outs I noticed the "snow" thing to. I started to bend and wiggle the cable, staring from the headset plug and after coming to the area where I fixated the cable, boom screen completely black and won't go on again. Tracking and sound works. Contacted HP and will wait for them to decide what should happen. Back to the index for the time being.... man, the tracking is so much better as the G2, actually everything is, exepr the clarity of the picture. I miss that.....
  12. Hmmm I went to every effort to NOT work DLC. Yes, I extend it, but I try not to touch the lever to operate it. I even put some Tape over my stick to keep my fingers away, and I must say, that helped. My landings are now just controlled via Stick, RUDDER and Throttle. I believe the RL Pilots told so, that DLC was mostly just used slightly before touchdown for 1-2 bangs and not to rectify a (sloppy) approach. Most important seems to be to stick to the number. I usually know slightly after the break if I still will end in a somewhat OKish trap. If the break is already messed up, most probably the rest of the trap will be also...DLC mostly making matters worse.
  13. I'm totally with you. If the seat is off, I'm suddenly not any more in an airplane (I fly in vr only) but playing a lifeless game. If you once get used to that seat, you will never fly without again. Seems to be petty durable too, got already a couple hundred hours on the motors and I sit all day on it because it's on my office chair. One has to be careful with the cable and the plugs though, they are definitely the weak spot.
  14. Look at you second picture, there under extension pack. Just click the radio tune and copy, than change the keyword.
  15. I put an additional line in the settings, duplicating the radio tune. I then swapped out radio tune for "said radio" (that is what my computer understands if I say set radio) and voila, almost 100 % success. Same with tacan and link.
  16. The correct answer is: You can slap „Cool Hand“ in the face if he didn't get his shit together whilst you can't reach "Jester"
  17. Yeap. Looks like the channels are more or less identical on front and back radio, so you could either switch yourself to the preset or let Jester doing it. I leave my radio at ch1 and let Jester do all the switching, thus keeping it consistent with the way my squad run things. Just for ATIS I sometimes switch myself during startup, since Jester is busy punching in coordinates. Slow poke
  18. Never mind, I had to copy them again into my /saved Games/....
  19. Hmm since hotfix of today I cant fly the instant missions any more. Won't start after I press fly
  20. Verflucht, immer ist was.... Means Darn, always something. Thank you for the answer, didn't notice during the other flights. Besides, now that you mentioned it, Mission 1 the F5 doing the same dance, Intro and Mission 2 I was single ship and Mission 3 lead, so I would not notice. Getting comfortable with the airspace admin, so there is time to look left and right.
  21. Yeah, was a stupid idea, even so I thought I was pretty smart at that moment
  22. As the title says, everything went fine, we did the break (never mind he is all over the place and won't put his wings back ), he calls abeam and gets the clearing and start to extend and extend and then dances around the sky. On a side note, after watching the tacview I know now why I got blind after he killed the last bandit . Nice move...
  23. For me, the campaign led to the first dead in quite a while, due to breaking training rules and not be proficient on the airframe. I really have to admit the A is way less forgiving than the B, that said, compressor stall and breaking the soft- and hard deck rules is leading to a smoking crater in the Nevada desert. Was pretty enjoyable anyhow....
  24. What you can do is to put a map marker (that round thing in the top bar of the F10 map) over ELKXXX. In cockpit you order "Jester - Map Maker 1 to e.g Steerpoint 1". He punches the coordinates of the map market to wp 1 and you can navigate to it. On the way back, after you passed ELKXXX you could order "Jester - restore St 1" and he reverts back to the old coordinate. Actually you don't need wp1 if I'm not mistaken but just to be thru out on that idea. For the acknowledge I will think about something that fits my idea of replying correctly.
  25. The radio is done very easy as well with Vaicom. Like "Jester push button 5" In general vaicom helps to immerse even deeper into the campaign. Just have to look for a way to replies to the checklist without pressing space. Could be easyly done via voice attack / vaicom but I'm pretty confident that I'm know to replies to all challenges with the correct answer, since Jester seems to insist off using the check lists.
