Make sure to get a metric screw. I checked, since I had to replace mine too, I took a 3mm skrew, 8mm long (the thread) with a tapered head. Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

Check for VRKneeboard (VRK) for a more VR friendly experience, won't help with your problem though, Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

Great to hear but a tad over my pay grade..... Darn Would love to try one, though. But on a serious note, I would love just the switcholagy for the F-14, since I play exclusively in VR, so it can even look like crap. That's the way I will most probably end up anyway if I ever get myself to try to build one..... Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

I'm kinda surprised, guess helicopter hunting was no priority. I have some experience with analog gbad radars, roughly the age of the Tomcat radar. There you got very destinctiv returns of the rotorblades which make, in my experience good radar reflectors and are great for a huge dopplershift in the approaching and receiding band, wit the parts closer to the mast mostly filtered out - the tips of a rotorblade are close to Mach 1 if I'm not mistaken. Depending of the speed you got the cell or off the Doppler filter. Surely the data processor had some problems with the signal to make sense of, but for the operators eye a heli was pretty destinctiv. I wonder if there wouldn't be a distinctive pattern on the ddi in cw mode, for sure RWS couldn't make a track, but the Rio......? All these said was on a relative short distance, let's assume around 15 miles, but given the raw power of the Tomcat radar..... Not saying it is wrong, because for that my radar times are too long ago, I'm just curious. So thank you very much for your answer, that takes me to the conclusion to leave the helicopter hunt to the slow poke Hornets. ;) Just kidding Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

Could someone elaborate on this statement? I know first hand that helos leave a distinct pattern on an Doppler radar wich even prevent notching. How about in the Tomcat? Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

Hope not. Yes, I break a sweat dogfighting in VR, but for me it is the way to feel in a plane. So if the other guy just turns his head 180 degrees using trackIr, be it, I just want it as real as it get on my desk. Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

I just made vaicom understand my German accent. While in training mode I checked what the speach recognition pics up and added that to my keyword database. Looks funny sometimes but works. Since I couldn't get the "TACAN tune" to work, so I added "set tacan" which speach recognition interprets as "said tacan" so I left that in and out works great now. Look for "connect air supply" / "connect external air" or something like that. Don't know which, since I edited the keywords because I could never remember which was the right one. Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

There are no B-side songs, you have to add them yourself. In the download section there are a bunch of Walkman files for the F-14 which you can download. You just have to rename them and put them in the folder with the A-side files. Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

But anyhow, some people claim that they are not using AR and experience frame rates my kinda beefy system can't. That drives one, me at least, nuts and one starts to fiddel with the settings, in my case to no avail. There are so many rumors out there about achieving great results in dcs that one start to think too be to stupid to configure vr right (at least I do). At the end it all shows that the guys with the superb frame rates just sacrifi so much clarity and "eye candy" in order to avoid AR that, in my eyes, it's not worth it. Yes, AR bothers me, but all the sacrifices bother me more. So thanx for the explanation and we will see if throwing more money at the system (replacing the 2080ti with a 3090) will rectifiers some of that. I will wait this time for some honest reviews before open my wallet again. Gesendet von meinem LYA-L29 mit Tapatalk

The only problem I got in the Moment is - the ambient lighting in the Tomcat (I almost fly her exclusivly) is only rendered on one eye - some distance stuff is sometimes only rendered on one eye (seems to be the same with option turned off) -sometimes see stuff pop up at the far end of the FOV (Index HMD) but in the moment that seems exclusivly in the NTTR Map So, I'm using it with some frame improvement in busy areas with no big problems
