Any chance to have an English cockpit from Razbam (not a mod)?
-
There is a good chance that Razbam will develop an A-6 for DCS. Not anytime soon though.
-
Fantastic news. Can't wait to see your improvements implemented MBot! My Christmas wish is that ED will seriously consider employing you and give this brilliant engine the official attention it deserves.
-
I flew it just now for about 30 minutes in VR (Rift) and I agree, it's not very well optimized and the frame-rates were mostly very low. It is playable, but not great. Flying the M2000 though is butter smooth. Hope that in 2.1 it will run better.
-
I think I read earlier today that someone complained that the harrier is unplayable in VR. I will get a chance to test it myself later today and report back.
-
Thanks so much! Sorry to hear that ED is actually the bottleneck here. Hopefully they are aware of the issues you brought up as you were creating DCE, and they will fix them in 2.5 Looking forward to see your updates soon, DCE is really what makes DCS special IMO.
-
Dear MBot, Thanks again for creating this awesome engine for DCS World. Do you have any future plans to add or enhance the engine, or it's pretty much done? Perhaps 2.5 will bring additional functionality to DCS?
-
Released in 2017? Possible. Complete? Definitely in late 2018.
-
Sorry if it was mentioned elsewhere, but what about the aircraft carrier? Will it be included in the Early Access stage?
-
I love this module, looks like it will be great. However, based on previous early access releases I will wait a bit more this time around. At least until I see the completion of the M-2000. Good luck with the release Razbam!
-
Just want to also mention that when the Hornet is released it will be in early access. Which basically means that not all its systems will be implemented / functional. A fully working F18C module release will not happen before Christmas 2018 (just my guestimation).
-
I tend to agree. Once the F-18C is out with all of its features, it would certainly allow for an F16C development (avionics wise). ED can also develop the F16A which would be much simpler. I think we will see the Fighting Falcon in DCS at some point.

Great stuff. Can't wait as well. I'm also very interested in the smoke that follows an explosion. A burning tank's smoke would rise very high. Hope to see what they have in mind for AA explosions as well.

Looking forward to the new Kuznetsov carrier. Thanks for the tip Madbrood, didn't think of that!
-
Thanks Kayos, the issue is that I'm playing a campaign, and I don't think there is a way to change my configuration for that mission. So the wheel chocks are not simulated?
-
Anyone able to successfully takeoff from the carrier in the Su-33?
-
I'm trying to takeoff from the carrier. After asking the tower to T/O clearance, the blast protector is activated from the ship, but the wheel chocks are not? I can't find a key command to raise the wheel chocks. What am I missing? I also tried to press U in order to place the aircraft in a takeoff position, but it won't activate the chocks either. Thanks.

Just can't wait for this one! The hype is real ;) -

Plagi_Arism, I think you answered your question - it's WIP. I believe that most internal development builds leave the textures for last, because they really have no effect on FM, or internal aircraft component development. Besides, Nick and team Heatblur are relentless when it comes to pursue of perfection. I wouldn't worry one bit. -
Thanks for the explanation! I can confirm that after I followed your instructions I was able to complete the mission. The part that wasn't clear to me was where I reached WP4, I received the instructions to intercept but lost the contacts, when I flew in the same direction I got a warning from Magic that I'm reaching the border and I should turn back, so I did just that and flew for another good 5 minutes before the bandits showed up again. Great campaign so far!

Hi Guys, From the very little time I spent in the campaign - 2 missions so far. I can say that it's excellent. Love the atmosphere and the voice overs. In the second mission, you are ordered to loiter around WP3 and await further orders from Magic (E3). Then you are tasked to intercept two MiG29's and four Su24's. I flew towards them (I think it was heading 290). They started around 170 miles out (according to Magic) so I ordered my wingman to turn on his radar. Soon after, he started to call the bogeys at 160 then 150 miles then stopped. I tried to spot the bogeys with my own radar but couldn't find anything. I asked AWACS for bogey dope and I received a "clean" reply, kept my heading for 2 more minutes, tried again and got another reply that there is nothing there. There were no further instructions or triggers for voice overs from the mission. When I quit the mission I received a score of 50. Will try to fly it again tonight, but was wondering if anyone else ran into this issue? Thanks!

As others have said, the F15C should be better suited for AA simply because that's what it was designed to do from the get go. The Flaming Cliffs F15C flight model is up there with the very best, it just lacks the cockpit functionality/fidelity. Actually, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the supersonic flight model of the F15C in DCS was the cornerstone that had to be achieved, before the F18C's flight model could be worked on. Regarding release dates, only ED knows. But if something is released this year, then remember it will be ALPHA (early access) so don't expect AG radar or other advanced features/ordnance in that initial release. If you want a fully functional Hornet (out of Beta), you will have to wait until Christmas 2018 - that's my personal bet, again, nothing official.

Setting realistic expectations for the Hornet

Thanks a lot for sharing and providing insight into flight ops and the hornet. I have a general question please. Do you feel a difference in flight (minor ones) when you don't fly your assigned plane? Did you notice that one F18 flies differently than another? -
Thanks so much for sharing these videos Panther! The sound of the Hornet's gun firing is exactly the same as the A10's Avenger? Probably a placeholder. Should probably sound more like an F15 firing (M61 Vulcan).
