  1. Certainly gets the noggin jogging. It's something different that breaks new ground. There's been lots of desirable aircraft suggested, but very few that step out of the ordinary that would represent a major milestone. Judging by the hints, I can't see it being yet another 4th Feb glass cockpit . Doesn't break any new ground. A b-17 or even ac-130 , however, kinda fit the hype train breadcrumbs we've been given
  2. Well, you've got about 18 pages to catch up since you saw it last. Read carefully, there will be a test afterwards.
  3. Get rid of those monitors and we can talk
  4. nothing there that makes my shrivelled heart go pitter patter but then it could be the lack of gauges, or that ive got a hankering for mid-to-late cold war era stuff for now.
  5. for the longest time i wouldve said the gazelle. the very second i touched the collective, the thing would go full-retard and id have no control. if i was lucky, i could hold on for a few seconds- but like with a mechanical bull, the ride is always short and any sense of control is an illusion. those flights would end with something snapping, and me plummeting to the ground. most takeoffs pretty much resembled looney tunes tasmanian devil...on meth. but then i checked the axis tune, and just needed to invert the collective. i was instantaneously going from 0 to 110% the second i budged the control. once i got the curve oriented, everything has been copacetic and the helo has been the most fun module ive had to fly used to end up veering off to the left into a ditch when taking off the l-39 in the persian gulf. not so much anymore
  6. two....but they were promising something big, and this definitely (along with breaking the two engine barrier) has that covered
  7. true enough, but you could get by if you simulate 2 permanent engine failures, or model the port two and starboard two as single engines i suppose. maybe 2.5.6 includes support for more engines?
  8. before you say no, just think about it... full fidelity , of course:
  9. too many engines for dcs. it is available on the other combat flight sim tho, with working paratroopers
  10. Perhaps, but somehow I don't see heatblur allowing us to load up HAWK missiles onto our tomcats ever We're even less likely to get Patriot missiles strapped to our f-15s And yes, one of those was a thing. The other had quite a budget. Plenty of renderings, but I haven't seen any actual photos
  11. It was announced some time ago, but I can't find it. There's screen shots on the DCS site though...they've got it with 3 different liveries including a blue& tan IDF one...if this was a ww2 AI only asset, there'd be no use for the IDF livery
  12. If not that, then I'm stumped. I mean, FSX has got the hot air balloon *and* the space shuttle, and quite frankly I don't know how DCS can top that.:joystick:
  13. I am. It's a very very slow period at work. Ya gotta admit, a Laobi narrated DCS preview video would be entertaining!
  14. Even if they were just drawings, or paintings, I'd still find it interesting, and are can be blocked or ignored
  15. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/interesting-images-feature-the-iconic-f-14-tomcat-with-blue-angels-and-thunderbirds-liveries/amp
  16. i want that plane to an unreasonable degree as well, despite it being even more niche than the greyhound or hawkeye, or osprey i just didnt mention it cuz octopusg has virtually no presence in this forum, so i dont think theyd be interested in gauging our interest in the aircraft
  17. yea, but if you couldnt get the green light on an osprey, i cant see the hawkeye being the slightest bit easier besides, we have aircraft variants that are newer than the early v-22s
  18. This would be more broadly useful
  19. true, but gulf war 1 was kinda the last big hurrah for the older cold war aircraft..i suppose some may have seen use in kosovo, but after 1991, we lost f-4, f-8, a-7...not long after that, lost the a-6 and the apache longbow got fielded.
  20. beautiful video, but what this really needs isnt a cover tune- we really need to have Laobi narrate the video in his typical family-friendly manner! For those unfamiliar, here he is:
  21. thats why i want the -A model. the only glass i want is on the front of my gauges. id like to revisit the mid to late cold war era, rather than whatevers most modern same goes for cobra- early, single engine model for me!
  22. dear lord, i hope not. for the pilot/copilot experience, it wouldnt be all that different from playing xplane. wanna drop bombs? "clicking buttons in dark closet simulator" IIRC, DCS cant do 8 engined aircraft
  23. I can hear Cap now, " gooood morning and I hope you're all doing really well. Today, we are in the Wright flyer, learning how to decapitate troops with our wings..."
  24. I know, same here. It's certainly on par with a paid module
  25. Big , mind melting announcement? A-4 becomes an officially supported module
