chinook and the v-11 (thats 50% of the v-22 osprey)

Not really, considering what you'd have after purchasing the upgrade to bs3 is not what you paid for with bs1. Paying to upgrade and modernize isn't the same as paying for the module again, and again.
-
Perhaps not, but it knows a thing or two about making bombers and composite structures. As i mentioned, b-2& f-22 both came out of my plant, as well as a plan to rewing the a-6s till that got canceled

You really can't go wrong with Laobi's tutorials either The f5 one was rather tame for him, but it's an older vid

How to make a cargo mod? (for helos')
ngreenaway replied to astazou's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
There's a mod with plenty of different cargoes. No need to reinvent the wheel -
Yup. It's an autocorrect typo.
-
Don't know what would be hard to implement it in 3d. The 3d model already exists, should take very little to integrate it into the huey for vr
-
You really can't polish a turd. I work at the plant where the composite structures for that were made (as well as b-2 & f22) and even tho the x-32 was way before my time here, people who were around at the time said there were a lot of difficulties trying to fabricate what monstrosity did get out (If i remember right, they were trying to make the who upper skin of the wing, from wingtip to wingtip..or it may have been the whole upper fuselage...as one single layup to be cured in an autoclave all at once, eventually they had to give up and break it down to subassemblies, i can't remember-its been awhile since I've heard the stories)
-
I would suggest, for the f5 as well as any planes you buy in the future, you go to misspoke.com and download the appropriate chuck's guide, if you haven't already
-
Good point, i forgot f5 had autoflaps. It's been awhile since I flew that bird (I've been in mi8/ka50 most of the time lately)
-
the only thing easier to land is the mi8. whoever things the shark is hard to land probably hasnt spent much time with the gazelle or huey also, the sharks "deployment" campaign is perhaps one of the best ive played
-
to clarify my earlier question, honeyviper, you mention dropping as you hit 145 flaps give you more lift at lower speed. get used to what a good approach looks& feels like. I play in VR on a vive (not pro) and clarity on the gauges can be a "challenge" at times. once you get a feel for a good glide-slope feels like, youll have an easier time than chasing numbers one final bit of advice: dont let the frustration get in the way, once you manage to stick your first landing (deliberately, not accidentally), the satisfaction from those moments is like a drug. as you develop more competencies with other aircraft, therell be more things that are satisfying but nothing stacks up quite like being new to it all and getting that landing just right.
-
Boeing x-32 would bet to differ
-
Are you using your flaps at all? The f5 is one of the tamer ones to try and land (unlike mig21)

Hitches razor: "That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence." While it may be a true statement when discussing multiplayer, based on how man servers there are & how many people that can be found on each server, that doesn't necessarily prove to be true (or false) regarding dcs players collectively. I suppose only ED has the numbers of how many folks play MP, how many don't, how many are OB & how many are on stable Feel free to dismiss this, but my *hunch* is there are more SP than MP players, and by extension more stable than OB players. I say that with stable being the default download for steam players (they have to Wade thru menus to enable OB) (i can't guess what portion of the population is steam and what is standalone). For the standalone players, the primary impetus to choose OB over stable is what's going on in the MO arena. I say this as someone who started on steam stable, tried OB & went back to stable, and then migrated from steam to standalone My personal view: i prefer fewer , yet more substantial, updates with fewer bugs. Im not sure about restricting OB cuz I'm generally against banning things, but also don't have a lot of sympathy for people who are beta testers by choice when their sim breaks.

yea dont hold your breath on anything coming out of FC3 into full clicky. i saw a sign in a tattoo shop once that describes how you should see the fc3 modules: "youll get what i give you and youll f'n like it"

Why is it So hard to land the MI 8
ngreenaway replied to tusler's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
So maybe it's not just me. Perhaps flying the mi8 really is like driving a school bus. I just couldn't see why other people were having problems with what is perhaps the most forgiving of below in dcs. I assumed I accidentally set something that removed any challenge from this airframe And maybe once you update that avatar, perhaps you can finally catch that pigeon -
Why is it So hard to land the MI 8
ngreenaway replied to tusler's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
THANK YOU! "Sedate" is exactly how id describe the MI8. dont get me wrong, it has certain advantages- it allows you to focus on improving other skills, such as sling load and radio navigation and such. i just couldnt match other peoples experiences of instability in the mi8 compared to mine as for the huey, its exactly as i expected a helo to be, if you read bob mason's "chicken hawk" (perhaps the best pilot - or viet nam- memoir ive ever read), the huey responds pretty much as he explained it: particularly in the portions dealing with training to be a pilot. i really cant recommend that book enough. by the way, richard...why no avatar of your namesake? -

Why is it So hard to land the MI 8
ngreenaway replied to tusler's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I'm not sure what's going on with my set up. I find the mi8 to be incredibly sedate and predictable no matter what i try with it. Compared to what some people's experiences have been, the mi8 has been the easiest of all the helos for me. I've looked to see if I have some sort of "training wheels " option selected somewhere, but can't find any such thing. The huey is like trying to balance a basketball on a traffic cone, it takes constant attention and isn't forgiving of distractions.the gazelle is fun to fly, but it's intent on killing me when I try to land. The shark is somewhere in between.. So the question is is there some option I may have accidentally selected that made the mi8 so stable? I mean, it's appreciated when i do sling load but I wonder sometimes if I'm missing out on something, or if I've simply gotten used to the mi8 enough where it's rather uncomplicated to manage? -
It would be nice to have ns430 implemented in 3d for us vr users.
-
I've been saying the same elsewhere. If they have the 3d asset, it seems they'd have to do little more than assign an x/y/z coordinate location for it, and an additional checkbox on the vr menu There are plenty of civilian huey's out there, so it's conceivable to have the ns430 A similar case could be made for the yak, in fact that seems more plausible than the l39 I think i saw a RL photo of a mig 21 sporting a new 430, but that would be up to another developer to implement
