Awesome fc, thanks!
-
I noticed this and wondered if it had been 'tuned' recently ... seems more noticeable.
-
'Even worse though is the INSANELY loud obnoxious static sound with the jester menu' ... agreed, its really annoying!

Thanks shagrat for the suggestion, but I use VR (Rift S). I have tried playing with the limited DCS settings, but you end up flying in a glowing world! Perhaps I'll have another go with the settings after the recent brightness changes.

Under What Circumstances Will AIM-54's NOT Fire?
Kula66 replied to Bearfoot's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I've seen the same thing ... 2 targets in TWS, similar ranges, numbers showing on TID, fire one 54, then can't fire a second for no apparent reason. -
DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
Kula66 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I've done the same thing :( ... my read was that if missiles take 90seconds to reach the target, friendlies can move in that time looking to engage the bandits and get smacked from behind - even if you call it on SRS, people aren't going to realise whats happening. Really Tomcats need to be out in front to use their big sticks! -
I can't see any screen caps of how some of us see the AOA indexer, so I'll post from my view ... the sun was high (12 o'clock) and slightly to my right, so by no means shining on the lights. This is from a mission where I start in the air and change nothing in terms of light levels. For such a critical instrument, its pretty useless! It would be great if it could be tweaked. PS> And yes, the middle index light is lit!

One more question, I understand the current display is the 'A' analog version, will that change with the correct 'B' digital engine instruments? Will that show AB fuel flow?
-
Ok, interesting, thanks Naquaii ... so if I push it to the stops, its gulping significantly more fuel than when just into AB, its just not shown?? I know the 16 shows an insane amount of fuel at full AB!
-
I realise this has been planned WIP for a while, but i was wondering if I’m reading this correctly- if I advance the throttles to just after AB kicks in, the FF Shows a reading. If I now go max throttle the Ff does not really change, only the nozzle position - is this correct? Thanks
-
Understood .... Thanks for the response IM, much appreciated.
-
Really? ... just nice to have it working as I assume it was intended.

HB, it would be great to have a little less delay in Jester callouts ... I'm sure its on your list somewhere :) I do miss Jester when I fly in other planes, even though most of the time I either just ignore him, have to baby him via the menu or when in AAR disable him completely - that I just can't tolerate!
-
Can someone please explain jester's bandit calls when in a df? I just can't understand his plane of reference ... In the attached. I'm in a hard left hand bank and he calls out 5 o'clock! I could understand 9 o'clock if you laid the clock flat or 12 o'clock high, as in through the top of the canopy, buy 5!! Does this make sense to anyone or is it just broken? This isn't a recent thing, he'snever made sense to me when manauvering. Thanks.

Very interesting Victory, thanks for the insight - excellent as usual!

[BUG/ DCS ISSUE] Jester dialog stays on screen during track replays
Kula66 replied to Kula66's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi IM, thanks for the quick response and suggestion, I'll have a look at the server option. -
'That crowd' being your customers? Nice.

To start, 2 disclaimers: Everybody has different expectations of what is acceptable. There is always a bottleneck somewhere in a computer! Different systems have different bottlenecks. I get acceptable frames (generally around 40) with settings at mid to high - eg. shadows medium, lots of trees etc. on latest OB, with & F-14 SC. Would I like higher FPS? Yes, but I'm generally happy. I have a 3yr old 7700k water cooled and overclocked system at around 5Ghz, with a 11GB 1080ti, M2 and 16GB RAM. I use this just for DCS. Here are some suggestions: * Go for 32GBs of RAM - I never thought I'd see myself write this, but ... * Go for a low core count, ATM more is pointless for DCS - go for last years high-end unlocked CPU. * Go for the highest clock speed CPU and RAM you can afford - go water cooling and over-clock, it makes a difference and is not difficult. * Go for a Rift S - I have a Reverb too and it is too much for my system without reducing image quality. The Rift is simple to use and works. Only downsides are Oculus is owned by FB and its relatively narrow FOV reduces the sensation of speed. VR is awesome! I've not used a monitor for DCS since the first CV1 of the Rift. * Go for a 1080ti or better. 2080tis will probably be cheaper when the new cards come out. * Go for M2 storage, at least 512GB £1500? Possible, £2000 probably. I hope this helps :)

Hi, almost every time I try and replay an F-14 track, the jester dialog stays on screen after it was cleared during the original flight - sometimes for the rest of the track replay. I fly in VR and replay tracks to try and get screen caps of the flight and this is usually messed up by this issue. Thanks, James

Full burner in a dive, aux flaps down with only 2000lbs of fuel on-board and not accelerating past 290kts ... More a drag chute than flaps now, nice :(
