The weather was set to NOTHING leave it blank then use the fog settings to se up the amount of fog you want. I'm not in the EDITOR so I honestly cant remember my settings for the fog but I'll go get them and come back and post them for you X FOG ENABLE yes Visibility - set to 3754 Thickness - set to 3281 WEATHER MUST BE SET TO - NOTHING In VR Fog with Weather on with fog is not good looking it's like a colored photo Negative Light Blue and White.

I need training in using the Compass for navigation and moving from location to location using ATC heading directions in low visibility conditions so I'm making a training Mission for myself in heavy fog in VR I had a hard time at first I didn't think it would through me off as bad as it did at first but It's turning out to be good Practice. This is a Preview of what I have so far it's a work in progress.

This ONE setting is the only setting I can make a heavy fog with. I wanted Rain but like you said in VR the look is not usable with FOG If I left the weather to NOTHING and picked just fog with heavy settings like 800 foot ceiling and something like 800 feet distant not sure without being in the ME. But this worked for this self user Training Mission on Navigation by compass and radio ATC location for headings to Ships I am making for a low visibility training mission to practice.

lol I learn as I go (when I feel like it) and never thought this post would get the comments it has. (I enjoyed each one thank you) The reason I did this post is because I Knew nothing about Altimeters other then the standard 100' 1000' reading and so on. The Huey has 3 different Altimeters I searched around (Forum) but didn't find any info to help my small brain soak up more understanding of all 3. So I went to the Huey PDF Manual got the types and read up on them, then went to the web for more info. In my small Brain I thought I would put this image together for new people like me starting to grow brain cells. I knew nothing about the Mean Sea Level setting. Grew my brain cells on that alone. Well I thought this would be interesting to a new person looking for the same thing I was. That's why I posted this. Lol sorry for starting up any old wars. I did find that information on wind confusing HOWEVER the post was not about that.

So I wanted to make a mission to fly in thick overcast fog conditions to practice navigation and low vis environment in the Huey. I find that No lights And They Are On in this weather conditions DAYTIME also. You can not see them at all unless 30 feet away and not bright just enough to tell they are on. HOWEVER If you load a Oliver Hazard Perry Class missel Version the back of the Ship has Awesome good wall lighting and the Heli Pad has the same good lighting. You need to change all DCS WORLD lighting over to the same code so we can see in the thick fog. Fly by a Oil Rig and see no lights. It would ALSO be Awesome if there was a Ocean buoy with light and bell sound to put in the water around a Oil Platform. Handy Wind and SeaGiant same very dim lighting in fog.

You have to delete the Action Trigger Sound to group or Radio Transmission or play to all what ever you used then. I save the Mission because I have seen it still not work some of the time but always works if I save at this point. Then I make the SAME trigger Action and go select the new sound. The new Sound has the same name as the old one, So Mission Editor will not replace the 1st one in the MIZ file. If you delete the Action Trigger then put a new one in, it will use the newer sound file. Just make sure you remember all the information on the Deleted Action Trigger so you don't forget what you did the 1st time. Lol I did that a few times. So Do not delete the 1 time activation or the Condition just the Action Trigger for the PLAY SOUND Trigger.

I can't get this to work in the standard M.E. I have only figured out how to do this in reverse. So I want a Unmanned Static Heli I land by to wait for it to get repaired then after I go deal with Insurgents attacking and come back a repair truck pulls up and then the Static Heli is deactivated and a AI Piloted Heli is activated to take off cold from ground at the same time so it never looks like a empty spot. I tried doing this in reverse but it would not work. The unmanned aircraft can not be late activated so when you go into the mission they show. It will be awesome if someone could help with this answer.

I( I found this when the Marianas islands map (Saipan) was first released but the sign was on the back side of the building and you couldn't see it unless you were in camera view. it is now out in the open. Never checked the other islands for more. have you seen this yet?

Wow I use a tail number of 11 set in the ME for the Huey so when they reply to me they call out my tail number as Dodge one one every one I call are all 210. So it comes out 011 to 210 requesting navigation assistance. Well Thank You it will not be clear in a mission because all the ships are 210 but it is what it is. Thank You. that does clear it up.

Dear Master: Lesson 1 Question: In a mission I put down 3 ships with landing pads built on them I call on the assigned ship 1 radio frequency for navigation assistance. I don't understand all the returned info about the answer other then my heading to the ship say it's 322. So I know I need to turn to 322. My Question is I can call all 3 ship on different frequency and My request is always calling "210" request navigation assistance. WHO is 210? I set each ship up with different radio frequencies. They each are added to my radio menu to call separately. is it a pretend AWACS? I Don't understand the Logic in this. Signed Grasshopper. Thank You Master

Well I must of NOT posted the correct download because I too have a X56 H.O.T.A.S. and just downloaded the software last week and I know for a fact that it comes with the install program that lets you customize your throttle joystick and the rudders are a separate download. The software has the RGB change color in it. This is also the program you can set all your controls up with the MODE switch M1 M2 M3 but I do not like using it. The program use a lot of memory when running in the background. After going back to the site they have changed the download WOW I just did this less then a week ago. I went to this page but now it leads to a way different page??? lol Logitech G X56 VR Simulator Compatible HOTAS Joystick

Downloads - X56 Space/Flight H.O.T.A.S. – Logitech Support + Download Install the Software to change the color if that don't work live with it or get a new stick if you can't. I'm thinking maybe some l.e.d.'s have burnt out.

I have never done this. So I'm wondering. The gun was selected and armed your sight was ON you had a sight in the looking glass. Was the Pilots Sight Down? or Up? Coop if the Pilot does not give you permission to fly you can't. Does this also apply to having control of the Gun?

Lol I feel like a Hydraulic Low Rider bouncing at startup. I don't know Why I never thought to try anything out about it other then I thought it was funny so I just let it Shimmy Shimmy Shake. BUT I pull the Cyclic all the way Back just like in a Tail Dragger then move it to the Far Port Side (Left) then just about when the shake starts I start moving very small right then left but fast input into the rudders and I think the Shake Bounce is quite reduced to a almost normal amount. lol sounds stupid right? Try it out. Lol I have went back on this and resend my last claim... Lol so all you need to do is push your Cyclic to the Port (Left) side 100% in the dead center position and forget the Rudder peddle junk. lol

I never use the Trim Function and I find it to be not useable the way I fly. I find that I can hover and control the Ship just fine without it. I use the Slip indicator for roll only I don't think of the Huey as a Airplane kind of flying so If I crab right or left it's no big deal. I found that I tend to use more left rudder then right unless at higher speed then I need more right. I don't want to make it sound like I fly crooked but with Turbulence and wind turned on as I fly you can't get away from correcting heading all the time. if I use Auto Pilot to help me change something like radio freq. I Most always have a small amount of drift right or left even with it on. I remember when I first started I did put to much left rudder input when I came out of turns I would finally notice it lol later on in the flight. I also tend to fly and lookout to about (if low alt.) 100 to 200 yards at slow speeds much more if fast speed. Always thinking of a line like a string glued between my eyes going to the ground as a glide slope to keep me focused on my direction. it takes time to get use to knowing how far out to start your glide slop to the ground and controlling the speed adding removing collective and cyclic to prevent vortex ring state. Using the sound or even the lack of sound from your blades.

reported quad zone are having problems.
DishDoggie replied to nighteyes2017's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
New unreported BUG I found. If you attach the Quad Zone to a Ship and use it as a MOVING ZONE it does not work. It was used like this. The Zone was made to be the same size as the ship I am to land on (The Handy Wind) The landing pad was under the boom cranes because of a (Mission Fake) Crash on the Heli pad. The Zone will not report any Conditions or Actions to the Mission Editor. The Conditions and Actions were tested without the moving zone with flags and all worked just fine. I have 5 other Moving zones attached to this same ship that are all circular and work just fine. No Quad Zone will work like this till they fix it. If You report it. NOT ME. -
