  1. If you’re solo using George up front, just bank and fly away from the targets for a couple clicks then turn around and slow down and approach at a lower speed. if you had a human CPG you’d want him to store the target first before breaking off
  2. Blackshark den guys also tested Apache lazing and hellfire is unable to see the designator if the origin is over 9999 from end point. It certainly seems like a bug since other aircraft don’t have this issue. I’m not home currently. If no one posts a report this weekend I’ll do it
  3. Actual gaz pilots say it’s not bad lol. I understand what you’re getting at though but it’s a subjectivity thing. We’re all here for flight simulation and not arcade flying, but it’s never going to be exactly right so we all have to have a tolerance level for inaccuracies.
  4. The power-on rotation in the simulation is indeed possible. I dont know if it’s accurate or not but yeah it’s possible. Eagle 7 demonstrates it in the video I posted above. Power on, collective down, terminates to a hover at about 15ft. Again I can’t say how accurate it is but there you go
  5. If you don’t have an extension on your flight stick it is reasonable and advisable to add curves or change saturation which mimicks having a longer stick. I have +15 curve on x and y axis of the stick, and +15 on the collective axis too. Then it’s just practice. The practice part will give you knowledge of what the aircraft will do in response to what you do, meaning you can anticipate that and “stay ahead” of it
  6. To practice it - Start at 1,000 ft, “Emergency occurs”, lower collective and pitch down 10 degrees. Counteract the weird roll with right pedal and back/right cyclic. Lower power levers to idle. Now adjust cyclic as necessary to maintain a pitch angle to achieve 100kns. When you hit 250ft, pitch up and add a tiny bit of collective. Then add some more collective as necessary to continue arresting descent, maintain slight pitch up. Tail strikes first, then roll and brake. I’m sure this can be done lower than 1,000 ft. The rotor expends a lot of energy very quickly when adding collective back in. Biggest thing is to pitch down when you lower collective https://youtu.be/fOsnba4-Hv8 They shouldn’t have made it available?Yeah what a massive evil they’ve committed letting me have fun. i was straight up bored of the other helos. I’m glad they released Apache when they did and I’m sure they’ll improve it.
  7. I just got called a “you people” because I was interested in something lol. Good grief. Im not trying to poop on your period accurate parade. I don’t care about the other jets so much, am looking forward to f4, and thought more f4 would be even better than less f4. Edit: I'll just wrap up - I'm not trying to take away from the historical Vietnam era F4. I'm just excited for the jet and was watching some videos and saw that the modernized variants have significantly improved the jet. I like the idea of being able to focus on ONE jet and learn it for multiple time periods and for bluefor / redfor. Right now the f14 is my go-to if I'm flying FW, but F4 has me super interested. If it's really THAT much extra work outside of the intended plans, then maybe it's a future project and I'd be willing to pay for it.
  8. Need? It’s not about need. I’m just interested in flying a phantom at different time periods. A modernized phantom would be a really fun opfor jet to fly against the 15s, 16s, 18s etc. I didn’t realize it was so heavily upgraded. That’s awesome and I hope they make the modern variant.
  9. 10:00 minute mark. This is the jet that I want to focus on moreso than any other FW right now and I didn't realize it had been upgraded so much. In this video he mentions it has modern Pulse Doplar radar and has been fitted to use modern Sidewinders, Sparrows and AMRAAMS. I see in the FAQ we're getting a 70s retro F-4E but also a modernized one. So is the modernized one the one with upgraded HUD, radar, weapons, etc? Looking forward to seeing F-4s beat 3rd gen F-15s in SATAL and elsewhere
  10. Well if we had a Cayuse to pair with our future Cobra we could do some very very awesome Hunter/Killer team missions. It's not quite comparable but in ARMA I really enjoy and prefer the light scout role. Suppose this is off topic at this point though. The AH64 is awesome. OP should practice. Playing a Liberation persistent campaign with some friends here. 3 Platoons of armor / pc's dead, reload, then attacked airfield. It's gamey yes but this should sufficiently counter OP's criticisms.
  11. Here, two tries. I plopped it down pretty hard for this one but I figure the actual pilots say it has sturdy gear so I'm not too concerned about it.
  12. Lol I haven't tried it yet honestly. I don't think it'd be too bad. I can land all the other helos on the Perry Class at night in heavy waves.
  13. Beeeeep, beeeep, beeeeep
  14. You can do it. Like with all of them it’s just a bit of practice to understand the feel. Also I’m using curves. Cyclic +15 on x and y, collective +15, and pedals +0 with a deadzone of +4
  15. To my knowledge the hold modes are a mixture of not implemented and heavily WIP. It's early access (and a good one at that). Fly the KA-50 without the hold modes and trim it up. There you go. What's OP's specific issue?
  16. When I fly CPG in game I’m expected to iff a target, I’m not just calling out generic tank/armor/apc etc, and I can ID reasonably well at 10k. George should do this. Perhaps add a simple logic that makes the target generic when it’s beyond like 12k, but properly ID’d under 12k. Yeah after reading some more examples this really needs to be implemented, not simply a “nice to have 2 years from now” sort of thing
  17. It’s squirrelly in ground effect, but remember you can put the flight path marker on a spot on the ground to give you a good idea where you’ll land based on current variables. Also try flipping on your PNVS as you get close to landing so you can “see through” the aircraft to help you land. And finally, remember that the Apache landing gear are very durable so you don’t have to be as gentle as other helos
  18. Pretty sure Wags uses a twist stick. Did OP try watching Wags' demonstration videos on Youtube? You'll get there, OP. It'll "click" in your brain one of these days.
  19. Make sure you don’t have game mode checked in the options. If you’re flying straight, trimmed, >100kns and push forward on the cyclic to nose down, the aircraft will enter an uncommanded roll to the left that if not anticipated could result in a left barrel roll. This is a bug it has been reported and I’m sure they’re working on it. All helos require pedal input when adjusting collective. The difference may be that you may have trimmed your pedal so far in one direction and not realize it that when an adjustment is needed you can’t keep up with the corrective actions. Also in general everything needs to be slow and deliberate. This is a heavy helicopter. Remove collective smoothly and slowly, add it in smoothly and slowly. Be gentle on the cyclic.
  20. YouTube videos aren’t tracks. They’re using screen capture/recording. I personally just use Nvidia shadowplay since I’m only doing clips, and then I splice the clips together as needed with a different program Shotcut I think it’s called. However if you do need to view the track itself there’s a trick to viewing it but you only get one shot at it and I honestly forgot what the trickery is. You should look it up, maybe ask GrowlingSidewinder’s discord And no the track system probably isn’t getting debugged anytime soon. I wouldn’t depend on it.
  21. It’s EA WIP. Let’s worry about Ed improving normal flight characteristics before jumping into the “it flies upside down” complaints
