  1. I'm confused. When you guys first started the Free Trial program I was able to participate as a Steam User. I know this because for the past two years I've continued to get a "authorization denied" dialogue box popup at launch for the modules I tried lol. I went to the Free Trial program on the website on my account and activated a trial module. My account is linked to Steam. But when I load up DCS I don't see this module available. Heck I don't even see it greyed out as a possibility on the module bar at the bottom. I assume I'm doing something wrong, or the program isn't available to Steam anymore? Thanks
  2. All of these "how do I dogfight" questions boil down to get a wingman (or several) and learn how to coordinate in a fight. All of the 1v1 discussions between aircraft are almost entirely foreign to reality.
  3. Forward cyclic causes uncommanded left roll at 100+kns. It's reported. If you mean just general SCAS stability, it's still very WIP according to ED. Give it some time.
  4. "BVR is getting better fast." If I respond to this we'll end up going down a deep tangent and outside the scope of my original question I think. Nobody in Heatblur has commented here so I think my original question is defacto answered, no amraam F4 planned (yet). I'm still excited for the F4E. If they happen to make a modern variant later on in a couple years, I'd buy it. Cheers, fellas. I'm hyped, hope it releases soonTM!
  5. Stopped by looking for updates and saw my thread was still going. I agree with Exocet here. He makes reasonable points. Yea, Devs have limited time to make modules so they need to focus on some. But heatblur isn’t making everything. Between creation and ongoing support for f14, f4, euro fighter, and viggen I think they’ll have their hands full personally. So perhaps they add on an A6 in a few years? Well at that point unless they’re growing substantially I’d get the impression they’d be better off selling an amraam capable f4 rather than trying yet another extremely complicated jet like a tornado or whatever. And I think I made my primary point on this earlier in the thread: I find focusing on one jet for several time periods very appealing. I mostly fly helos. I’d like to just have one go-to jet for Vietnam, cold war, and modern. The amraam f4 would absolutely be competitive in bvr against the modern dcs jets becsuse dcs bvr isn’t very accurate anyways from what I gather from fighter pilots. Though even if it wasn’t competitive I’d still prefer it because of my other reasons. i like the f4 and would like more f4 options that’s all. I’d like a f14d too if that were ever possible. Not becsuse I want the “A” lessened, just because it’s more f14
  6. I see in patch notes (good stuff in there btw!) you mention some items you hope to get into next update, like TSE, which is very awesome, but I’m wondering if there’s any idea on corrections to FM bugs such as roll on negative g, excessive crabbing, apparent instability perhaps related to scas issues (I don’t understand scas ..), auto rotation etc?
  7. Every new module begins with the entire community flooding servers with it and then calming down and going back to their main interest. I’ve hardly flown anything except the Apache since it released but I’m sure many people are back to their normal routine. You can also check out the two public servers run by Low Level Hell. They have intermittent activity. As others have mentioned, try buddy spike (prepare to get killed by jets 2 seconds after taking off though), or 4YA, rotorheads, air assault
  8. Huh? I fly frequently in multiplayer servers. Single and multi crew. Cold and hot start. It takes off just fine so long as you don’t overload it. You have to manage your fuel and weapons loadout.
  9. I have a post about this in controls section. Yes. You just bind the KBU keys to your keys or numpad. Rebind important default keybinds. Found it: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/296052-using-a-cheap-bluetooth-keyboard-as-the-cockpit-keyboard-unit/#comment-4923803
  10. It’s ea. There’s some things on the flight model / scas that are being worked on. pfftt the thing is worth more than $65 but I’m kind of a fanboy. I hope you enjoy it. Make sure you get the opportunity to try multicrew
  11. I’m changing my position on this report. After speaking with some pilots they educated me on Apache laser having less strength than a jet laser, that environment would play an issue, and also training protocols. So a 9999 designate limit matching the TSD makes enough sense as it should be less than the 15km jet designation. Apologies for bumping this
  12. I don’t think “spot track” is what you’re asking for. But if you’re curious if George can pick up the return of an LRFD code from a JTAC, it depends currently. the way I know how to get it to work with current George issues is to WAS missile yourself as pilot and fire LOAL in direction of lazed target making sure to be outside of minimum effective LOAL range Similar to this, where I fire hellfire from pilot seat, wait a few seconds, then unmask and have George select the target to laze it. This is own-ship LOAL. Buddy laze with JTAC would be similar , you just fire in direction of the lazed target with matching code and within min/max range requirements start at 1:47
  13. Bump. This is marked “correct as is” but it is not correct. Digital range read out is correct. Effective range of the LRFD is not correct. Effective range should match DCS global range limitations of roughly 15km.
  14. I asked Casmo in his stream last night about this. Currently when CPG does sight select HMD the TADS will “lock” in the angle it was commanded to be in previously, meaning if you put tads forward facing, even if you locked it forward with slave to fxd, when you sight select HMD and the helo maneuvers then the TADS doesn’t stay fixed it just points off in the angle relative to the helo (my apologies this is difficult to explain). i was curious if the tads should remain in the slaved position when sight select hmd. But I got a different answer when I asked casmo. Now he wasn’t 100% sure if he remembers correctly but he believes that when CPG sight selects hmd the tads should swing all the way left to stow like the PNVS does. This is to protect the lens when not in use. This is not how the aircraft behaves currently. i don’t think this is a bug so much as a design error? I dunno how to post this.
  15. BN it’s in the linked thread I provided. Brad attests to it
  16. Bump. Thread says solved but crabbing is still excessive
  17. My report from weeks ago: A better report than mine from weeks ago and it includes an SME track file:
  18. My humble , uneducated guess is the laser effective range is accidentally tied in the code directly to the digital display limitation rather than having separate values: one for the readout and one for effective range (which should be 15km to match other laser logic on dcs)
