I am very much enjoying the F-14B, though would really prefer the added capabilities and convenience of the D to the reduced performance and quirks of the A, though the ideal would be to have all. I am kinda hoping for an unofficial mod of ST21, too.

GR isn't the best learning utility, though is entertaining as anything. I laugh my ass off at their vids, especially the carrier landing competitions.

Ah a patch would have made sense. I believe Steam is doing it more or less transparently to me, but glad that's fixed.

Isoko, your livery rocks. Just gave a go on both VF-103 and VF-32 in one of my missions. Need to look into changing the flight suits next but most impressive! Love low viz Jolly Rogers. Heatblur should definitely include these as official.

This one is still happening to me, as well. I copied over a mission I had with the Hornet replacing them with Tomcats and would not launch until I get rid of the wingman. Not only that, even if I delete the wingman, I have to exit and restart to launch solo otherwise I just sit there no matter how many times I salute.

This is still there. Google led me here. First noticed it in the RIO tutorials. Noticed it just now when trying to launch with a wingman and while waiting went to the RIO seat. EDIT: It does it on the Stennis in the Caucuses map, but just noticed it does not when launching from Nellis in Nevada. EDIT2: Now it's not doing it on the Stennis anymore, but now I have the launch bug where I just sit on the catapult regardless of whether there's a wingman or not. Very strange.

This was a very easy print. I'm almost out of black filament or I'd probably offer to print it for you. Getting the printer is the way to go! So much cool stuff you can print. I already printed a couple MFD frames (available on Shapeways) but in VR not sure I would need them. -
Yeah, my main issue right now is keep going into spins if my maneuver is too aggressive, so gotta remember to be more mild... yet not timid, so trying to learn where the line is. I like the weathering and the cockpit is gorgeous with the taste of realism... I just would prefer it didn't inhibit the functionality for someone new who doesn't already have the switchology and muscle memory memorized. I'm nowhere near brave enough to go online yet, not even with the Hornet but having a blast learning them and just taking off, navigating, landing, and doing practice bombs and gunnery. May have to try the mod.

Finally got the module on the first day of the Christmas sale. Have always loved this plane and it's a dream to be flying it in a realistic sim. That said, very hard for me to do the cold start since it's all but impossible for me to read the Master Test switch in VR (never really had a problem in the Hornet). I was able to land on an airfield, though quite a bit more challenging. Love the acceleration in this plane, though definitely wish we had seen Super Tomcat 21, etc since the HUD is quite minimal and one could well imagine 2-3 MFD replacing some of the analog gauges...

This is still happening to me on the F-18 seemingly randomly (three times now). If I stop it seems ok but if I try to tax it starts pulling me back and almost made me hit a parked plane. Single player Instant Mission on the Stennis. Raising and lowering the hook wasn't releasing it. -
Apparently still $229. I'd be willing to pay that... if it included the base. I'll just keep using the MCG Pro.

This one is pretty bad on just about every F/A-18C training mission, so hopefully a fix is on the horizon.

Thoughts on graphics card upgrade - RTX2070

I went from an EVGA GTX 970 FTW to an Asus RoG 2070 OC. I can't say I noticed a difference in 2D but I couldn't go to PD 1.3 in VR with the 970 without massive stutter that is now gone. -
Depends. If it was a good map, possibly though I'd want several historical maps checked off first: 2003 and 1991 Iraq, MiG Alley, Vietnam, Midway, Iwo Jima...

I'd rather the cockpit get updated first. Russian claims are generally greater than their capability (at least in production and procurement moreso than theory).

With the 970 wasn't able to get the PD past 1.0 without it jumping around. With the exchange 2070 am running 1.3 (went to 1.5 but didn't really notice a different so went back to 1.3) and everything look pretty good. Still need to dial in some with the input from this thread, but overall it's an entirely different experience. Mostly playing the Community A-4 and FC3 F-15C and SU-27. Need to get the SU-57 "Felon" mod again since that was I was mostly playing 2D on my old X58 build with the 970... Planning on getting the F-14B for Christmas.

2070OC on my new build appears to be defective. Running my old 970FTW for now until tomorrow when I return it for an exchange. Beta for WMR for Steam VR alone got rid of the super jumping, though my old GPU can't handle settings turned up so a bit blurry. I did do a carrier launch in an A-4, which was cool.

Just got my Odyssey+ on new 9900k build... and yeah DCS was jumping around like crazy. Making the adjustments I saw were applying them to all SteamVR so need to recock and try that again since it was... disorienting. Probably the reprojection setting though I believe they renamed it. EDIT: apparently turning the mouse, etc on applied those settings in SteamVR which is bouncing around like crazy even though when I undid them in ED, it did NOT undo them in SteamVR. Similarly, though I undid the mouse selection in ED and "aim" with the pointer on the Odyssey+, now I have a mouse in Windows Mixed Reality Portal. Ugh. EDIT2: Closing and restarting SteamVR and WMR Portal didn't do it but a reboot seemed to bring everything back. Phew. Is that normal behavior for the DCS mods? I would want the mouse, for example in DCS but not in general...

Yeah that did it, thanks! Also helped my google search to find the reference that I could right click and do individual weapons but now have several CAP, Strike and SEAD loadouts pre-ready, so thanks again. Any way to give it a basic R73/R77 default load without needing to rearm at the beginning of an instant mission? Also noticed the fragmentary flight manual in the doc folder of the mod said to change RWR (Left MFD) pages by Right Shift and H but that only seems to change the color of the HUD symbology for me... and can't seem to find a way to view gauges or fuel status in the cockpit that I've been able to determine. Otherwise having a blast flying this. Great mod.

I mean loadout has no options other than empty and I apparently have no missiles just guns. Unless I'm doing something wrong (which is more than possible)...
