  1. Yep, also a new message alert, however it is a little broken in .0.9
  2. Awesome job, very nice
  3. First link I get this: But second seems to work, thanks mate.
  4. Ha too much mech warrior for you ;)
  5. Looks great, looking forward to when we can download it!
  6. Yep agree, would be a cool feature. Cool vid alright, interesting to see the SPI symbol appear on that TGP picture at 1:02.
  7. Nice work Paulrkiii
  8. I guess this indicates that at least 3 radios can be controlled online through the UFC? Was this a later mod or just something that has not been implemented in DCS?
  9. My keyboard is the same. Pause/break and scroll lock are on the same key, scroll lock being an 'F key'. I just remember to cycle function off and then back on whenever I pause or unpause. Is a little bit of a hassle but doesn't take long to get used to. I believe BS and FC2 were the same? My keyboard is just a run of the mill Microsoft wireless.
  10. I feel that you will regret buying it and feel you have wasted your money if you do not have a basic joystick.
  11. Have to admit that I think the biggest weakness in this game is the replayability. Multiplayer and user made missions are your best bet, multiplayer especially. I am looking forward to when ED include a feature in the ME which makes randomisation easier. i.e. place unit at random within a trigger area or the like. Using random flags to create a binary style solution is just much too hard.
  12. Nice guide. One little trick for what its worth, is that if you wish to send a message to an entire group enter 00 as the aircraft ID and then the group number. All group members will now get the message. Personally when I send targets to other players I just create my SPI, hook the player and press send, but I can see the value in making a markpoint if you have time for that or are concerned you may lose your target.
  13. I think most people will say HOTAS, but for me it would be without a doubt trackir.
  14. Just posted about this in another thread in the military section, but I was wondering the same thing. I reckon it is the pave penny cue index described on page 365 of the manual.
  15. I like that explanation, very cool
  16. I have always looked at this vid and wondered about the HUD. Based on the data blocks it looks to be an A-10C, but the data seems to be displayed differently to DCS? DTS is on the left data block which looks quite different. Also there looks to be some kind of time or waypoint data up on the top right? Perhaps this is a different suite? Anyone know? Also, it looks like the video shows the pavepenny cue index at time 0.15 described on page 365 of the manual.
  17. OK probably should have expanded. I don't think it would have originated from slang, ops brevity codewords follow a pattern so they are easy to remember. Codewords that are used to described launching and ordnance states are commonly gun related or gun types: e.g: shotgun, rifle, magnum, sniper, shooter. I reckon that Winchester is just another name dreamed up by the doctrine nerds that fits the ordnance theme (because its a common ammunition type).
  18. Yeah, well thats what I thought. However it was after about the 4th mission when I was meant to be hitting time sensitive targets with air defence firing every direction all around me and nothing but mavs and Mk1 eyeball for SA that I felt that: a) I felt the load out was not realistic for the scenario b) Searching through a mav seeker head every mission stopped being fun c)That I would still be challenged if I chose my own load out d)Its what everyone else was doing I still try and use the mission makers load out where ever possible but in devils cross four mavs stopped being fun for me.
  19. Its a NATO ops brevity codeword. People sat down and dreamed up a bunch of them to streamline military comms: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brevity_code
  20. This is your answer. On devils cross you will just get 4 mavs unless you change your loadout.
  21. Check out page 113 of the GUI manual
  22. Quick question. A mate and I use this and its great. However whenever he dies and jumps in a new A-10 he has to restart TS before I can hear him again. Is there something we have missed?
  23. Another awesome mish from Moa. Here are a few pics that I posted in kiwisim (I have to wait for every post to be approved so they may take a while). The boys taxiing to line up Moa forming up Climbing into the sunset Searching for pirates Moa engaged! Moa rifling and turning away Final nail in the coffin Off to the next waypoint Pickling on Pies laser spot. Laser spot search lock- something I haven't used before. Very cool. A damage inspection on Moas empennage on the way home. Thanks fellas
  24. Yeah, I have just put it down to over modelled (IMO) castering.
