Because that's the range of the F-16 radar. Has nothing to do with the AMRAAM range. The Tomcat was so powerful for instance, because it's radar could see well over 100 miles, and had a missile it could shoot long distance. The Viper is a small, light plane. So it has a small radar. Viper for sure. The hardest thing to understand isn't even the Viper itself, but what hangs underneath it, namely the (edit: LITENING) pod. once you understand that, you're 70% there. The Hornet isn't as user friendly I find. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Glass cockpit was a bit of an overstatement I think. It had a HUD like the F/A-18 and 2 MFD screens in the front cockpit, and I think the RIO had an MFD too. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
