  1. Or for the seeders and leaches http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/torrents/DCS_A-10C_EN.torrent
  2. It looks to me like you are using HARS rather that the EGI for navigation. Check the switches in front of the control stick. If it was your intention to use HARS then performing a HARS fast erect in level flight should sort out the screwy HUD. Tom
  3. not off topic at all. You realign it by re-caging it, then uncaging it
  4. yes, I had problems with this. The solution I found is that the horizontal line which is adjusted by the mouse scroll wheel needs to be in the center of the SAI. Then you can left click and hold to recage. You have to hold it for several seconds. If it was my aircraft I would replace the SAI with a working one which doesn't drift so often. I can't imagine the real one is so bad.
  5. I imagine it locks onto the nearest ground vehicle, (not that I have ever used it) Get track IR you will never go back.
  6. Actually it is quite easy to swap the TADS to the right hand MFD. Press and hold one of the buttons surrounding the right MFD, after a couple of seconds the MFD will display various options around the outer edge. Press the button by the TAD option and then select the button which you would like to use for it. (I use the 'msg' button) Tom
  7. Looks more like snow to me.
  8. The only problem I have with adjusting the brightness is that the key press auto repeats very quickly, (it goes from full brightness to dark in a second.) this makes fine adjustment very frustrating. it would be better if one press of the key adjusted the brightness by one level, requiring multiple taps on the key.
  9. Nope, but presurising the cockpit seems to help reduce the chances of hypoxia at altitude, so therefore should be enabled prior to flight.
  10. Dont forget to turn on the bleed air and main air supply switches, they seem to be missing from some checklists. (Page 156- Environmental systems panel)
  11. Last night I was playing with 'Nodes' and 'Templates' in the mission editor, What a fantastic feature. You can create a massive set piece battle with just a few mouse clicks, positioning AA batteries, Armoured divisions etc as whole entities. Really worth a look. Tom
  12. I'm sorry to say it's a bit more stuttery for me, and I've had a couple of crashes, where the Gold version was solid as a rock. I think I'll give this one a miss for the moment.
  13. Viper, unfortunatly most of my flights are too long to post tracks. I will attempt to create a short flight to demonstrate the problem. Tom
  14. Hi, since the final has come out I have been having intermittent problems with CCIP mode (Guns, dumb bombs, you name it). The problem is that dumb bombs sometimes land far short or long,CBU's sometimes fail to separate and cannon rounds get nice tight groupings either short or long of the target, using the CCIP reticule. It seems that the targeting computer is not using the correct altitude in its calculations. I always have one of the group of targets set as SPI so shouldn't the targeting computer use the altitude of the SPI in its calculations? I have read some posts stating that you should create a markpoint near the target and set this as your steerpoint , but I find this hard to believe. I cant understand why you would have do this if the target is already designated as SPI. This occurs with all systems functioning normally, no discernible A/C damage at all. Could this be a mis-configuration on my part. I never had this sort of problem with previous betas. Does anyone have any ideas, and is anyone else noticing this? Cheers Tom
  15. There still seems to be an intermittent bug where you cant hook and object and make it SPI in the TAD. It works most of the time but its very frustrating when it doesn't work!.
  16. Team speak PTT here.
  17. if you know the lat/long of the runway threshold, you could create a 3D nav point in the CDU with a 3 deg slope and use that as a substitute ILS using the steering bars to guide you in. Edit: Damn Sniped
  18. I had problems with the datalink at first too, it seems you have to check and double check that both the ID's are set to 1. I agree the first mission really is a batism of fire, however you can always edit the missions yourself if you like, Change the loadout, weather, number of wingmen etc. I changed the loadout on that one to include four CBU's and raised the cloud ceiling a couple of thousand feet. With that done it was an absolute blast. Tom
  19. Hi, I have just tried the first mission in the second campaign, and ramp started, navigated to CP, contacted JTAC and got 9-line brief. However he didn't transmit any targeting info to my datalink. No little red triangle, and no message stored in the message page, no ability to accept or reject. The TAD was correctly showing little green crosses and other aircraft so I assume the datalink was all working correctly. Is this new functionality, just a squaddie on the ground with a radio? or did I miss out a step in the start up?
  20. Just to get this thread back on track, I can assure you all that Beta 6 will be out tomorrow. How do you know, you ask... Well this evening I took a frying pan out of the oven, then 10 seconds later, without thinking tried to pick it up by the handle. There is just no way that I can hold a joystick at the moment. So with my luck you lot will all be filling the skies having a blast with Beta 6, and I will be sobbing into my bandages! Have fun... Tom
  21. Most software I have come across allow you to assign a direct X button to things like PTT. I have my 'Mike switch up' assigned as PTT in Team speak and the joystick pinky lever as TrackIR center. You have to make sure that no buttons are already pressed on the throttle when you go to select the PTT key. The easiest way to achieve that is to look at the Windows Game controller properties window for the throttle and play around with the switch settings until all the little red lights go out on the property page, (note that there are two 'hidden' buttons activated when the throttle is at the off position).
  22. it used to be 1 LAAP Engage/Disengage 2 LAAP Path Hold 3 LAAP Altitude/Heading Hold But I have a feeling that it changed a beta or two ago. I use HOTAS Warthog so have not used the keystroke for a while.
  23. Hi, last night i was flying a mission and got some 'Shilka damage' to the both engines, which necessitated a shut down of the right hand one. No Problem Right throttle quadrant to shutdown. Problem solved, until I realised that the Warthog hotas is a pain in the but when one throttle is forward and one is back, it makes intuitive control of the buttons and hats impossible. So I was trying to find a way to keep the RH engine shut down but keep the throttles together. I ended up switching 'Eng Oper' to 'Motor' for the shut down engine. This seemed to stop it from attempting to relight however later on, on the flight home I had a LH gen failure so operating on only batteries I fired up the APU, this caused the RH engine to spool (but no ignition) What would the proper procedure be for this scenario? Simply keep the dead engine throttle at the 'off' position and put up with the ergonomic nightmare? Cheers Tom
