    Hind or Ka-50

    Have both. Ka-50 is a smooth tank killer, Mi-24 is a badass machine, love both but Ka-50 is way easier to fly, Mi-24 it´s much more critical on flying and, if you don´t have pedals stay away from it
  2. You cant expect the same performance from 2D to 3D if you double or triple the pixels on screen going VR. DCS doesnt need separate sims, DCS needs to adapt to the current hardware and technologies (multicore/threading, DX12/Vulkan, DLSS/VRSS/FSR, etc), using the current hardware like it was from 15 years ago ballast the general performance

  4. 32 fps + ASW = 72 fps ASW it´s the reason why it looks so smooth, is interpolating frames
  5. Multithreading and Vulkan here, i thing we need first solve the performance issues before enhance other technical areas like IA, weather, etc...
  6. NVidia user here, the test i did i made sure i was fullscreen using alt+enter and, as i said no issue, i don’t know if it’s something from UHD resolution.
  7. Sorry, but whats exactly the problem when selecting a lower resolution than the native from your monitor? I mean, i fly VR only but have a 27" 2k monitor, i made a quick test, if i select 1080p as resolution (my desktop resolution is 2k) and launch a mission, my mouse works perfectly and can use the cockpit buttons and switches without any problem. On the other hand, i used to play Starcraft 2 with DSR activated to have a greater resolution than desktop and never had an issue with mouse.

  9. Take care of calling me "cheater", you are taking your feet out of the pot. As i said previously, i want a high fidelity Flanker, but not for balance reasons, just because i want to fly it. Starcraft has three different and BALANCED races, it´s a competitive game, cmon, it´s the game that started esports! Seriously you will use that game to compare with DCS? And, for last (and most important) you may have not read what ED as stated MANY times, ED has no released ANY (relative modern) russian fighter because they dont want to, they cant cause Russia politics. Remember, is not what you want, it´s what ED can do on first
  10. The thing that people have to take in mind is that there must be a Flanker, or Fulcrum, or whaterver they want high fidelity, not for balance "like War Thunder" but just cause we want it. People may think "well, in the end is the same" but is not, doing things by balance way is a dangerous approach for any serious simulator, we start asking for counterparts for balance and then we will start by "nerf that radar or missile, is OP!"
  11. Let me tell you something: DCS has nothing to do with War Thunder. War Thunder is a multiplayer arcade game, DCS is a single player (or cooperative) focused flight simulator, theres no balance and theres no needed. The multiplayer on DCS is an AddOn, not the base of the game. It will be great if theres more high fidelity russian planes? Of course! I´ll kill for a Flanker family module, i have the Black Shark II and i bought the Hind cause i want some "soviet like" cockpit. In other hand, if you fly online on a Navy Hornet against an Iranian Tomcat, the time the 14 appears on RWR you know you will outranged insanely by radar and missile range but you cant call for balance, thats the way war works
  12. I would LOVE two separate settings for cockpit/planes and terrain/objets shadows: Cockpit/Plane shadows: - Off - Low - Medium - High - Ultra Terrain/objects shadows: - Off - Flat - Low - Medium - High
  13. I fly on VR only and i can look 180º back, just move my body too, not head only, so no problem about realism here. And about zoom, i only use it for in cockpit elements, dont like to use it outside
  14. FSR makes not use of deep learning techniques, so no AI involved, DLSS and FSR are two completely diferent approachs for the same objective.

Viper and Hornet were competitors from the same program so the similiarities, but as you said, Warthog is a (completly) diferent animal, he was born to killing tanks and then becoming the absolute CAS machine, it makes ground pounding looks easy and with the Scorpion helmet it´s like using cheats on a regular videogame. I fly regulary many modules (Viper, Hornet, Warthog, Tomcat, Black Shark...) and i love the Warthog stick for all of them, the smaller size and the aditional HAT made me no to change for the Hornet one

  17. Take into account that not all versions of Mav that Viper carries support Hand Off feature, what Mav are you using? No problems here with the radar, can find targets at 60-70 nm, hot and cold
  18. @Tom KazanskyDLSS its not a simply upscaler, its a AI assisted one, wich make a difference. I dont know what titles you saw where theres a (noticiable) loss of detail, but since DLSS 2.0 thats not a problem, theres games like Marvel Avengers or Death Stranding that they not only dont loss detail, they add detail. And about why not FSR instead of DLSS, well, FSR works fine but DLSS is better and AI assisted upscaling is the way to go for future, even Microsoft has stated that the upscaler that they will release for DirectX will be AI assisted, but still, better FSR than nothing
  19. Has anyone experienced a worse performance from last patch? Recently i don´t flight the Tomcat much but i never remembered it so stuttering i have now. Caucasus BFM lion and sun, start de mission, look left or right and roll, full of stutter, start the combat and more stutter, take the mission to the editor, change Tomcat for Hornet and sooooo smooth. I know that Tomcat its more resource hungry than any other module but i dont remember to pass from smooth on any other plane to full of stutter
  20. @BIGNEWY it would be great to know what ED think about DLSS/FSR integration on DCS engine, as long as some news about how is going multithreading and Vulkan work

  23. On a dogfight get visual and use an ACM radar mode (i love vertical one for dogfight). SA page on Hornet for something like a dogfight it´s a no go due tu his low refresh rate of DL (if i remember it was something like 12-16 seconds)
  24. Coming back again to SteamVR, i wish to know how your app is able to launch DCS on SteamVR. Im a Quest 2 user but i need to use SteamVR for using ReShade but im unable of doing it without your launcher, what are the console commands (or any other change needed) to change launch between one or another API without using your launcher?
