  2. I did, and not noticed any gain, i thinks it's more a problem related to HP HMD and SteamVR
  3. Tomcat has double cockpit and an insame amount of detail and textures with superb quality (for me, reference graphic quality of DCS Modules, only other module on par is Apache), at first fps suffered a bit but now it looks that it was fixed, on the Hind is still same as at the release
  4. Not only on 6/8gb cards, 12gb cards too. Definitely a VRAM leak or a poor optimized textures, not only on Apache but in general
  5. I have the same issue, at night using ANVIS is worse and i´m not using any shader mod. It looks that it happens on some illumination situations, not all, for example it happens on the quick start mission on Syria that calls "Express... something", can´t remember the name exactly
  6. Just some questions Diamond 1. You launch it via SteamVR? For any reason i cant launch by SteamVR, a get an error pointing to a local address of Jhabba user 2. I can launch it via Oculus but i get a very notorious fisheye effect, i dont know why, and i have reinstalled multiple times but always i get the fisheye effect. I installed OpenXR Toolkit 1.0.4 and OpenCompositeACC 0.6.2, exactly the file OCXR_WMR_ACC_v0.6.2.zip, copying d3dcompiler_47.dll, opencomposite.ini and openvr_api.dll on DCS bin directory

Quest 2 user here with no multimonitor (well, i have connected a TV but is always disable, only active when i have to use it) George menu has the same problem has described here, obscured by ANVIS googles. About boresight somewhere must be wrong, for me, to boresight it i must be offset to the right, looking that im sitting offset to the right and it´s weird, i doubt that is the correct way
  8. SSAA dont work on VR, it apply to destop mirror and you get the performance penalty but it won´t apply to VR

When i first start to fly RC helicopters someone tells me "With helicopters you have to be flying it always" meaning that on planes, if you relases the controls the plane will continue to flying on the same attitude (more or less, of course) but on helicopters you have to maintain all axis on movement to fly it correctly and thats change my mind. With that and practice you will get it, as to planes when doing precise flying like air refueling, you have to anticipate the corrections to the movements, if you wait to correct after the helicopters start to move, you are late and for that you need more practice
  10. It looks like "Texture quality" option is bonded to cockpit, planes, vehicles and ground assets which is not the terrain. Due to how demanding DCS is about VRAM, why not making a separate option just for cockpit resolution? I can have terrain textures on low, "assets" textures on medium or low but cockpit textures on high, enjoying full quality cockpits but saving VRAM from others assets. Don't know if technnically possible.

DLSS was released three years ago, more than 150 games support it right now, i can´t call it "emerging technologies" to be honest but they may think that multicore cpu, that the first cpu was launch like 15 years ago, it´s an emerging technology too. The thing is not to adopt every new technology that come around but, we don´t need things like raytracing, but looking a the performance problems, a technology that has been proved to work very well, supported by many games, looks easy to implement and works for 2D and VR? It´s a win win

  13. DCS has something wrong with RAM and VRAM, looks like a leak or theres something they are doing wrong with the textures. What i can´t explain myself is knowing (as they know) that there´s a problem about performance why they dont implement thecniques like DLSS or FSR, that many games implement so quickly but, instead, they implement things like SSLR that kills the performance. Don´t get me wrong, i don´t want to blame ED, i think they did an awesome work the last two years about new content but, to me, there´s a problem of focus on core related things, performance is an historical problem, not only on VR, but we are on 2022, no multicore support, no Vulkan, no new graphics technologies that helps the performance (DLSS, FSR, TAA, etc) but we get new "effects" (that we need!) that kills performance like new clouds, sslr, new flir...
  14. It's impossible for an Apache to match the accurracy of the Ka50 canon, the 2A42 doubled (at least) the barrel lenght and uses a larger ammo (113mm on the Apache, 165mm on the Ka50)

  17. Right know i would be happy if they implement, at this moment, DLSS for 2D&VR. Man, on Myst VR the performance increase achieve a 60% with quality setting...
  18. The Apache problem it´s not only VR related, theres is a performance problem on it, on 2D and VR. To me, on 2D, i start a Viper on Caucasus and get 150 fps on ground, the same with the Apache gets me 70 fps. Even with the Tomcat, that is a performance hungry module on the same situation i get 140 fps. Viper or Tomcat cockpit looks way more complex than Apache due to all the switches the planes has. The thing that annoys me is that it looks like this get ED by surprise when, if you follow Matt youtube channel, you can see on his Apache videos it suffer from severe performance drops, that´s why i hate when Matt talked on last interview about Black Shark 3 being a step forward on detailed models, cmon, DCS performance should be fixed before start to even think about an eye candy upgrades...

  20. One of the things i noted at first i tried the Apache was that the VR head position looks spot on, way better than Ka50 and Mi24. My headset is an Quest 2

Tell me how many hits have you done launching the 120 at 60nm, please, enemys that comes to you directly and dont even make a defensive move is not a valid example I don´t know your Viper radar but mine can lock from 50nm without much problem. Maybe the jammer uses the same antenna, maybe not, but when you start to jam to break the lock your radar is silenced, i don´t if this has change on last´s updates but at least that was at first

It´s turning childish because after 25 years from last good Apache simulator (Longbow 2), after ED told Apache turned gold a week ago, after ED tells Apache will not arrive later than 31st March, people keeps asking and putting pressure on ED about release date like theres no tomorrow... If at the end of 2020 i was told that ED would announce a high fidelity Apache and we will have it only 15 months later i would hadnt believed it, how much took the Hornet from announcement to release? Maybe four years? Cmon guys...
