  1. It depends on the plane, really. I find Harrier much easier to use, than the A-10C. It only takes a little lean to read stuff for the tiniest of details, like the little fonts besides the buttons on the MFDs. A-10C map display is horrible to read for me (maybe it's the contrast), but the Harrier one is very nice. Same with the HUD. Everything is in bigger fonts, perfectly fine and without jaggies. Not everything is perfectly clear from the default position. I did expect a bit better clarity, but it's definitely not a deal-breaker. For example the ENG page. It has tiny letters and if you try to read that from the default position, there's a struggle. Lean in a bit around the UFC and everything is clear. It takes a little movement to clear and enlarge just a bit, to make it clearly readable.
  2. Told you :) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84839
  3. I can comment on the #5 impression, my Kingston Hyper-X headset just reaches over the halo. Rift S with this headset is not an issue.
  4. Of course, the joystick does return back to center. But it takes very little effort to move it. Ideal for precise moves.
  5. UI layer in the controls setup screen lets you map the left and right click to a controller.
  6. The no-bump cams and harder springs give me the best feeling for flying. Definitely recommend you try them. No bump or any other disturbance when crossing the center area is the biggest reason why I purchased this base. Totally worth it.
  7. I ordered it today, lol. Between the Reverb problems, Index waiting period and having next week off, it wasn't a hard decision in the end :pilotfly:
  8. Rift S seems the best performer right now and throughout this year, until new stuff comes out in 2020/21. Index is praised, but for over two times the price and three months waiting period... I think I'd keep Rift S until an Index killer comes out next year. Or maybe when the fixed Reverb gets released. 2k per eye is the future standard, too bad they screwed up with the displays and cable connectors. Would have been a solid buy for me, if they did it right the first time.
  9. So, the Index does look to be the best jack-of-all-trades for this gen. Sure the Reverb has bigger res and Pimax bigger FOV. But in a complete package of everything thrown in together, looks like the Index packs the best compromise of quality, software, FOV, resolution and clarity.
  10. https://forums.mudspike.com/t/vr-news-hp-reverb-second-gen-headsets-are-on-the-way/8165/345 Lots of through-the-lens shots by BeachAV8R, they all look amazing. No doubt the Reverb is the best-in-class right now. This is the sim bar, by which all future HMDs will be compared.
  11. This vid explains the motion, but if someone else can explain if the pilots ever hold the throttle on half or one third of AB range. It's pretty short. I'd assume if you need to get over the detent, you push it to full AB. That's kinda the point, if you're in a fight, you use all the AB power you have.
  12. Perfect, thanks. This will go on the pinky switch, then.
  13. I'm curious, how does this feature work? I'm asking because the latest Virpil throttle comes without detends and this sounds like something to map on a pinky switch on the throttle.
  14. Compared to the Warbrd base, which feels really amazing compared to TM warthog, I honestly expected a little more from the stick. For the price, it should have more quality feel to the buttons. The flip-up trigger is very short and soft, because you're pressing on it with a lever. Three face buttons should feel better for this price. More rugged with better solid feedback. Good thing there are more hats than buttons, because they feel much better. Solid clicks and design, the thumb won't slid over the top. 8-way hat can easily be used for TMS hat. I'd gave it 4 out of 5. TM grip buttons felt better, IMO. When the F-16 arrives, I'll probably get the TM grip. That seems to produce the best combo, but I do love the longer throw/height of this model and it looks great with cyrillic lettering. Palm naturally slides into place, ergonomics is spot-on. Index finger over the trigger and thumb over the CMS hat. It just needs a little extra with the buttons, then I'd rate it perfect.
  15. Sounds like an underestimation of their customers who are, I'd assume, very adept in PC hardware and software setup and configuration. These aren't some teenage girls buying barbie sets, lol.
  16. I use my 10€ Logitech 3dpro for throttle and rudders, lol. Waiting for the next week restock.
  17. I'm also inclining towards the triple displays at least for a year or two. Even Reverb doesn't read all that impressive, with the sweet spot and colors. I need to try it on some demonstration. A GPU which could power DCS through the Reverb with solid 90 FPS will not exist for a while and this compromise is killing me with constant graphics, SS and PD adjustments and experimenting. And $$$ above all. Any lower res than 2k and we're back at SDE... If only there would be a solution to power each screen with a separate 1080ti, to knock the FPS up. This alone would help greatly. VRWorks is all in the future. Dual GPU cards designed for VR Monitors are literally fire-and-forget system in comparison.
  18. I'll wait for the Virpils Warbrd rudder pedals. A basic version, with only the rudder axis and no footplates adjustments, which should keep the price down. Cos right now, we have cheap plastic models, which are positioned too close together and more expensive botique-manufactured models, with nothing in between. I hope Virpil prices them at around 180-190 €, a sweet spot between low and higher price ranges. With tax, that's same price as the T-Rudder.
  19. PlainSight

    F-16

You can map everything on it. Comms, speedbrake and dogfight/missile override (boat switch) go on the side accuratelly. Cursor slew is obvious. China hat can be used for gain/uncage rotary function and collie hat up/down for radar antenna elevation.
  20. Viper will break my bank account, I can already tell. Especially if TM drops new force-sensing HOTAS Cougar and new gen VR headsets will def be available as well. I love this plane to death since BMS, I need to have it in DCS.
  21. All you need now, is a touchscreen panel that fits between MFDs for IPC panel and you're set. I started only with MFDs and it turned out so cool, I just HAD to get that panel to finish it.
  22. Why, it's the same lock&shoot stuff. You both get RWR and launch warnings and both can drop CM and use jamming. It's all about the skill of the pilot. When to launch, when to go defensive, how to evade missiles and the whole science behind BFM after the merge.
  23. Definitely, these will be very popular. Finally these iconic fighters are making their way into DCS.
  24. That's a good way to make the Warthog stick less cold...
  25. This would be a great map, but it's again up to the designer, to make the missions.
