  1. Noticed since the upgrade to DCS Open Alpha 2.1 that when I look up through the green glass in the Huey, I only see a green rotor blade. Just seems a bit off compared to what it used to be.
  2. Yours was the first site I went to for tips and tricks with the original DCS product. Thanks for the help and the memories.
  3. Well thank you very much for the compliment. I have been working on this mission for a while now, changing things and adding details, really learning how to do some things in the editor and I had finally decided to take some footage of the cool things I was seeing while testing. Cheers.
  4. Felt creative today with this fantastic helicopter.
  5. Collidable trees and the fact that you can hide behind tree lines and not be seen or fired upon by ground units due to those tree lines. Helicopter operations are going to be very, very fun. :)
  6. Many good pointers here. As for me, every time I initially jump into the cockpit, I just hit "enter" key on the number-pad. That does the trick.
  7. DCS Forum Christmas Lights Banner I just got to say I love smashing those lights up at the top of the web page. I don't know why but I like it and have fun doing it. :pilotfly:
  8. I've only flown night missions in the "M" version of the Gazelle. The NVGs are already on the helmet and all you have to do is hit the key command for NVGs. Then you are looking through them. I'm assuming you are talking about the "L" version? Pilots don't have goggles attached to helmets in that version. I've never tried night flying in the "L" version. My start of this thread was because something changed, that being when you utilized your NVGs then let's say switched over to the other pilot and looked back at the other seat you were piloting from, the NVGs animation were down over the eyes. It looked like those pilots were indeed seeing through those goggles. Now that doesn't or didn't work. Have check lately whether that has been fixed.
  9. Beautiful tips Shagrat. Remember also STORM to use buildings to your advantage. They do provide you cover and concealment and if ENY AAA do fire on you, the buildings can and will shield you.
  10. Great answers, quite informative. Thanks.
  11. Kudos to BelSimTek on this beautiful upgrade. I'm just loving this helicopter the second time around. As we now have the ability to fly an Mi-8 without the clam shell doors; I was wondering why someone would take them off in the first place? What would be the purpose of taking those doors off? Why is this done in the real world?
  12. I'll just say that this thread is a superb example of the helpfulness, strength and care of this community for this fantastic simulation and it's enthusiasts. Someone asks a question and helpful answer are given (and then some).
  13. It really is a beautiful module. Just absolutely love it.
  14. My guess is that PolyChop didn't add those goggles because the L version really is a dedicated day aircraft. The optics do not support night work.
  15. Good to know. I was wondering about that. It definitely didn't hold the position when I moved the helicopter. I hope they do implement this someday in the future. Good. Thank you.
  16. Does this include when the helicopter is moving? Or only in a stationary (hovering) position? Okay, just a power regulation mode then. I won't damage the system by moving to a new position with the system on "Veille" will I? Thank you for your answers by the way.
  17. Got a question about the system. The "Asservi" (locked) position on the optical controls; what is the purpose for that? Is it suppose to lock the point where the camera is pointed while flying the helicopter to another position thus allowing you to find where you were looking at before? The "Veille" or (standbye) positon, why would one use that as opposed to "convoyage.?"
  18. Thanks. Looks very interesting.
  19. No I have not. Where may I find it so as to take a look?
  20. Just some footage of me testing a mission I'm working on as well as testing video editing. Best watched in full screen 1080HD.
  21. Noticed tonight while testing a mission I'm working on that the Night Vision Goggles never come down for the copilot like they used to when you put them on for him and switch to the other position. I look over at my copilot or pilot, depending on which position I'm in and their goggles always stay up. Has this animation been changed or is this a bug?
  22. I would love to fly with you guys Bader but unfortunately for me I cannot justify having another version of DCS World on my limited space hard-drive. It is just a no-go for me at this time. Hopefully I will be able to change this in the future and then partake in your flights.
