Hi Grandad, I too had same result for a small bit. I believe it had to do with the mirror. If you use the mirror like I did, you did see huge frame rate drops where before you didn't. Now it is good and back to usual high FPS so I do think something got whacked out of place then they fixed it again.

That is one good looking helicopter! Can't wait to add it to my module inventory.

I think you are pretty close to the idea of ED's plan. Just guessing of course but look at what has been released now. What is coming. F5 Tiger II has been release. Used by Iranians. F-14A coming which again is used by Iranians. F/A-18C coming to play NATO side. Mirage 2000C. UAE etc. SOH map coming for all these modules to fight a war in. Now figure those ground units, SAMs etc. to be put in there as well in order to add to the atmosphere of the map/fight server. I imagine ships/naval aspects will be coming as well at some time in order to compliment the above modules. ED is slowly putting the pieces of puzzle together in order to give us a very big canvas to paint on. :) First though, must get DCS World up to 2.5 standard. One version, stable and ready to go. They are getting there, just a bit longer. :joystick:

There are some pretty nice skins made by users in the downloads section of DCS. Some real beauties there. You might find something you like.

I would expect a good possibility of this stuff showing up with the release of the SOH map. Not saying 100% but a good bet it will.

Got a question for your mission creation gurus; how do you create your briefings? I'm talking structure, layout, terminology. Always seems the hardest thing to do for me and was wondering how you all get through it. Are there any templates or examples out here on the internet?

I fly the Nevada map all the time, equally I'd say with the Caucases map. It is so nice to have something so different and visually stunning. I practice learning the taxing to and from runways, NDB navigation etc. It is a refreshing change of pace from the Caucuses map when needed.

I very much enjoy your server except for this one particular issue. I understand your need for testing and accept this but I would urge you to change this when you are finished testing. By change I mean get rid of the aircraft icons which show people's aircraft in the F10 view. I personally don't use it myself because of my dislike of it. I consider it cheating actually. Of course that puts me at a disadvantage when my opposition can go to F10 and see me but hey, it is what it is. I've always enjoyed the aspect of DCS or IL-2 BOS when you can suprise and kill your opponant when they fail to see you coming. Actual tactic in real world air combat. Puts those of us who use this at a great disadvantage when we are sneaking up on someone and then they look at F10 and boom, surprise gone. As far as people leaving server because they cannot find others; well you've got the GCI working (AWACS), you also got front lines in your brief and map view. Why not let people learn how to actually navigate properly using the aircraft equipment like finding a front line or enemy base using NDBs? That is what I do. Sorry for the rant but had to say my piece. Get rid of player aircraft icons in F10 view please. :cry: :smilewink:

+1 :thumbup: The F-15C in DCS has been with us for a very long time. It has been (until the advent of the Mirage 2000C) the only western fighter availble to us in this sim. Many of us have been flying it for years, and years, and years. Time to retire it and get something new and shiny. DCS Hornet will be the game changers when it comes out.

In the options menu regarding your screen monitor resolution: instead of setting it to 16:10, set it to 16:9 and report whether your issue has gone away.
