  1. Rather well said.
  2. So should everyone just download and install 1.0.1a on top of the previous 1.0.1?
  3. So if I read the readme correctly, if I uncheck the "dot" for the trimmer system, that means the old "original" trim system is used in game?
  4. You are talking about the video where there is a pretty hip russian song being played and the heli is swooping around a truck convoy...correct? The author of the video I'm thinking of is Chizh.
  5. Have always enjoyed your mission Ian, that includes the ones in IL-2. Do you happen to have any more for Black Shark in the works?
  6. Here you go Stratos. Check out these helpful hints. I know they work because I've used them in my mission making. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=38255 Cheers, enigma
  7. Here is what I do. When I'm flying and want to turn in another direction. During the turn I will hold down the "trim" and release it when I'm at the heading I want to go. Of course when you do this, remember to center the cyclic quickly. It is the same when making a turn in a hover. While twisting my joystick (i.e. using rudder pedals), I hold down trim until I'm pointing where I want to and then release trim. You have much more control of the aircraft this way. I also believe (although just a guess on my part) that is what the real Russian Ka-50 pilots do. Just look where the trim button is located on the cyclic. Extremely easy and comfortable for them to utilize the trim while moving cyclic.
  8. Thanks Mbot. Pretty close to how I do it as well but instead of just adding the "shooting part" of the player controlled aircraft, I do the whole thing which I now believe to be a mistake. Will try it your way. The most frustrating part for me is just trying to set the ground units on the map just exactly where I want them. To have to constantly run the mission in full just to see where the ground units actually place take way too much time (like you said...hours.) I miss the old "satellite view" from Lockon where you could switch map to a top down view where you could see tree lines and such. Made placing ground units much, much easier. What software do you use to record your voice messages?
  9. I've got a question for all you superb mission makers out there. I'm asking MBot, uhoh7, Wags, and the many others out there who create these gems. I've been starting to make some of my own and I've been wondering what is the mental procedure you use to create your missions? Do you use books or online news coverage of recent conflicts to give you ideas? Do you start off by setting up ground units and test them for their positions and actions and when satisfied, then add in the player controlled helicopter? What makes you pick the area of the map you use in your mission? I'm just curious and looking for any tips and hints I can find.:megalol:
  10. Been playing your older version and have really been enjoying it. Well done MBot!
  11. That is what I do as well. But I must say that I don't think I've ever had a wingman from my flight run into me on the taxiway. They do stop when I stop on taxiway and keep their distance. The problem arises only when I enter the runway and then I must move quickly or they will crash into me.
  12. Okay, for us computer programming illiterates, could someone please explain what this means?:helpsmilie:
  13. Beautiful video. Not seen that one before.
  14. Thank you gentlemen for this thread. You've answered my own questions on flags.
  15. Have you tried the mission editor yourself?:megalol:
  16. Same here. Got it delivered today in fact. Extremely high quality and I love the size of it. Easy to get comfortable in your favorite chair and pour over it. Also easy to have it sitting right next to you for reference while in the sim. Easily a quality product for the money. Thanks ED.
  17. Interesting. Thanks for the info.
  18. Thanks GG. So am I to assume then that if one doesn't have the "comm/radio/lookout" man with the manpad unit, the manpad unit will take longer to identify target and fire? If he even fires his weapon at all?
  19. In a current mission I'm building, I am using some Igla SAM teams. Noticed in the editor that there are basically two types of units regarding the type of weapon. For example: For Igla SAM system there is the SAM SA-18 Igla Comm and the SAM SA-18 Igla Manpad units. The manpad unit is self explanatory but what exactly is this "Comm" unit and what is its relationship to the "Manpad" unit? The Stinger teams have the same sort of setup as well so I'm curious as to how one uses the "Comm" unit.
  20. Amen to that.:pain:
  21. Absolutely beautiful.
  22. Yeah, kind of depressing isn't it? I preordered mine from GoGamer and it still has not shipped.
  23. Thank you.
  24. May I ask what folder one pastes this template in the black shark program?
  25. Good background information for mission building. War in Georgia: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/war/georgia.htm
