Found the reason why I could not see any other views of other aircraft or vehicles. In the options section, where is has an area titled "F10 Map View," I had none checked. I switched it to "all" and now I can move from vehicle to vehicle and aircraft to aircraft. etc. I have no reason why F10 would be the deciding factor in all this. Go figure.

Well I'll have to look closer into that. The reason I had mentioned it is the BS1 never had any issue with the keys I had assigned to TIR. I could always hit, for example F7 and get ground units views. Now I cannot. I cannot even though I have the "external views" button clicked.

Outstanding Major Bugs in Black Shark?
enigma6584 replied to Nate--IRL--'s topic in Bugs and Problems
They are much better and actually now useful in a night mission. It is going to be fun.:) -
I did some testing last night... making a night mission and the NVGs give you much better sight at night. You can actually use the Schval and shoot missiles...guiding them with the schval...just cannot lock target since not enough light. Big improvement...more night missions I think are going to be made.

Is there some magical way in which I can utilize external views so I can see other aircraft and ground vehicles? It seems I can only externally view my own aircraft and that is it. I must be missing something here.

Russian radio talk with english version
enigma6584 replied to Mustur's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Rats...I was hoping for Russian voices flying a Russian aircraft. -
That was it. I never even knew about that. Never had to do that with the old BS. My view in the cockpit is perfect now. Thank you sir!!:worthy:

Got a question for anyone. With the old BS, I used the default Track IR settings and loved the viewpoint from the cockpit. With BS2 the default settings make it look like I'm sitting way back in the seat, my head very far from the forward edge of the cockpit. The HUD looks so small, can hardly read anything, same with instruments. If I want to change my viewpoint...I would do it in Track IR correct? I would not change anything in BS2 itself? Any advice would be most appreciated.

Collective Stick Won't Move with X-52 HOTAS
enigma6584 replied to enigma6584's topic in Bugs and Problems
The deletion of the "input" file worked EtherealN. Thank you. :worthy: -
Are you installing as administrator on your system?
-
Alright...I seem to have a problem here. I've installed BS2, was in controls in order to directly map my X-52 HOTAS system using in game set-up. No SST software used. I initially loaded up the lua script of my profile from BS1 and overwrote the default controls. It didn't work. I deleted that in-game profile and started from scratch mapping HOTAS and Axis to proper commands. My X-52 joystick works, my Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals work...all the buttons on my HOTAS system work. The only thing that doesn't work is my Throttle which was of course assigned to the axis for Collective Stick. What the hell am I doing wrong? It takes when assigned. I can adjust curves in Axis Tuning...but when in game when I move the throttle, my collective does not move an inch. Any help would be most apprieciated. It has got to be something stupid and right in front of me.

Amen to that! For very little money, I get to do something I'd never be able to do in real life...fly a helicopter. The hours of fun, the hours of study. Well worth the price and a good reward for those who bring us these simulation gems. Thank you ED!!

I do not think that is possible. My HOTAS needs a keyboard command in order to work. I'm asking people what "keyboard" command they use for Fraps while recording DCSBS. What keyboard command is not used by DCSBS.

There is a gentleman I meet online every week or so that helps me test my missions I'm making. He gives me good feedback as to how the mission feels to someone who does not know what all is in them. I thought you knew him and he was telling you about those missions...and how good they are...:)
-
I'm wondering what key command you guys use in order to begin recording with Fraps in Black Shark? The reason I ask is I have a default key I usually use with Fraps but DCSBS uses that key for something. I was wondering what key may be used with it...very hard to look at keyboard commands list and figure out what is not used by this superb sim.

LOL...I think I know who you've been talking too.:smilewink:

I've been making small missions since I got back into Black Shark. Most are based on hunting insurgents. As someone else has said...there is a patch coming out. I'm waiting as well to see how I have to fix the missions I've created. Once that is done...and I fix and update those missions...I'll release them to the community.

Beef with record AVI in blackshark
enigma6584 replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well noc_orthodontist...if I'm reading you correctly you are using the in game movie rendering software. I don't really think too many people use it...including me. What I usually do is record the track and then capture video from that track using Fraps software. It is so much easier to use IMHO. That is why (I'm guessing) that people are not responding. Most use Fraps and not the in-game video rendering software. -
Superb stuff. I learned something new with each article. I hope he keeps these coming.

Anyway to extract those audio files from the mission so we can use them in other missions we create ourselves? -
Aahh...I finally found it...and you can still download the file. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=38374 Thanks to GreenGriffon.

Very, very cool. I will use this but I'm actually looking for a different sound file someone had made. It was all Russian radio chatter. Anyone know where there might be a place on the internet where you can copy Russian radio chatter?
-
Hello gents, I've been searching through the forums the last half hour or so and cannot locate an old post from one of you regarding a "radio comms chatter" file. A while back, one of you took the ogg files in the radio comms chatter file of DCS BS and combined them into one big file so that if you ran it in a mission, you would have background radio chatter going on for something like 5 minutes. It really added to immersion. I cannot find it. Anyone know what file I'm talking about and maybe where that old link to the download is? I would love to use it in some mission I'm currently building. Any help would be most appreciated.
