  1. I've noticed that under some circumstances the nasty bug where the Tomcat gets several thousand pounds of ghost weight added upon spawning on the carrier deck is still present. This happend so far only in MP: When you chose a slot on the Supercarrier and if it decides that for whatever reason there is no place to spawn for you, you get the delayed flight message. Once you actually spawn (usually if another AC takes off) your Tomcat will be overweight with the following symptoms: A lot of power (up to 90%) is neccesary to get her rolling. Settles heavily during cat launch. 15AoA speed in landing config is seriously off. With 54000lbs, onspeed is 152kts while it should be 140. Moreover, it can barely maintain those 152kts at just below MIL power. Unfortunately, I can't provide more hard data since I could not reproduce this in SP, but in MP, this happens everytime my flight gets delayed. One more interesting thing is that leaving the server and rejoining doesn't help. If your flight got delayed on the SC, you will get ghost weight unless you restart DCS.
  2. You would still want to cross-check your computed and actual speed at 15AoA. Well IRL you would, in DCS I guess this doesnt matter since neither the AoA probe nor the pressure sensors can fail.
  3. Are you activating DLC? Because if not, your on-speed will be a lot lower than it should be, hence triggering the slow calls.
  4. How far behind the ship are you breaking? I found that you have to break overhead the ship or very shortly behind to get a good interval between you and your wingmen.
  5. Tested all three variants against a clean Su-25, none worked. Maybe it depends on the target?
  6. Max gear speed is 275. Its the flaps you should worry about (225)
  7. AFAIK it is. The anti skid system is not meant to be used at taxi speeds, as it may cause brake failures. Once the aircraft rolls above 15kts, the system becomes fully operational and the light will go out.
  8. +1! The SC is just amazing. Visuals aside, the MP experience has immensely improved. No more crazy decksliding on the hoggit servers! Finally, I don't have to wait for a clear deck to spawn in, great work!
  9. It's a functioning workaround. Sorry should 've been more clear
  10. Ok I figured if you keep the switch pressed until you are fully kneeled, the nose strut will be extended at landing.
  11. nice! Is there some workaround for now, like pressing the kneel switch up inflight or something?
  12. I know a lot of people wanted the IFLOLS to be more visible as compared to the pre-release videos, but the current implementation makes it worse IMO (well at least for me in VR). The insane bloom effect makes it hard to see the ball, the default stennis is way better in that regard. Could this be looked at or is there some option I'm missing?
  13. After fiddling around with the new SC, I found that the nose strut gets stuck in the kneel position when launching off the SC, meaning the plane will be kneeled when landing on the deck. This doesn't always happen however, still trying to find out some logic behind that. Did anyone else have that problem too?
  14. Same in VR. Solid 45fps everywhere except when looking at the island, fps go down to 25/30.
  15. 5GB holy shit
  16. it's ooooooooon
  17. still nothin :/

  19. I also don't get it. ED invested a lot of resources into the SC, why would they give that module or parts of it away for free?
  20. Is this a hornet only feature or does the tomcat also get some fancy endspeed calculation?
  21. It would be nice to be able to deactivate certain catapults. ED plz add
  22. This sounds very promising, thanks for the update!
  23. I believe using the override switches makes only sense during a field take-off. Image you have to abort your takoff run for whatever reason and the WonW switch fails in the flight position. Then, spoilers will not be available for ground braking since the spoilers will deploy upon throttle idle and then immidiately retract due to the symmetric spoiler deployment protection being active with the failed WonW switch. Placing the spoiler switches to override will ensure that you have spoilers available for an aborted takeoff regardless of any other failures (well except for the spoilers themselfes failing). Once you are airborne, there should be no reason to keep the switches in override.
  24. Well if you want to conserve fuel keep the jet at mach 0.7 during cruise/climb since that is the speed for optimum lift/drag ratio (more or less).
