  1. Thanks for the feedback, first step is to determine if it is a bug in the game or in my implementation and now that one is solved. It's me and now I get to control when it is fixed. Thank you also for the offer to tell me where I went WRONG, so below is what I have done. For DCS v1.5.8: I placed the lua snippet found below at the top of the default.lua found at the following location H:\Games\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Input\AV8BNA\joystick For DCS v2.5: I placed the same lua snippit found below at the top of the default.lua found at the following location H:\Games\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Input\AV8BNA\joystick In v1.5.8, all 2/3 switches work as expected, with v2.5, all 2/3 switches do nothing. Any and all help/feedback is appreciated. -- 2/3 Position Switch Setup {down=fcs_commands.Switch_FLAP_SELECT,up=fcs_commands.Switch_FLAP_SELECT,cockpit_device_id=devices.VREST,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.5,name='flaps cruse else auto',category='Shortcuts'}, {down=fcs_commands.Switch_FLAP_SELECT,up=fcs_commands.Switch_FLAP_SELECT,cockpit_device_id=devices.VREST,value_down=0.0,value_up=0.5,name='flaps vstol else auto',category='Shortcuts'}, {down=engine_commands.Switch_H20,up=engine_commands.Switch_H20,cockpit_device_id=devices.DECS,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.5,name='Water TO else OFF',category='Shortcuts'}, {down=engine_commands.Switch_H20,up=engine_commands.Switch_H20,cockpit_device_id=devices.DECS,value_down=0.0,value_up=0.5,name='Water LN else OFF',category='Shortcuts'}, {down=ext_light_commands.Switch_EXT_LT_NORM_NVG,up=ext_light_commands.Switch_EXT_LT_NORM_NVG,cockpit_device_id=devices.LTEXT,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.5,name='Exterior Lights ON else NVG',category='Shortcuts'}, {down=ext_light_commands.Switch_EXT_LT_NORM_NVG,up=ext_light_commands.Switch_EXT_LT_NORM_NVG,cockpit_device_id=devices.LTEXT,value_down=0.0,value_up=0.5,name='Exterior Lights OFF else NVG',category='Shortcuts'}, {down=engine_commands.Switch_FUEL_PRESS,up=engine_commands.Switch_FUEL_PRESS,cockpit_device_id=devices.DECS,value_down=1.0,value_up=0.0,name='Refuel Probe ON else OFF',category='Shortcuts'},
  2. So is everyone else using 2.5 and having luck with the 2/3 positions?
  3. Quick search gave me this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200106&highlight=Upgrade+BS1+BS2
  4. I always click 'Update' right before I remember this tip! .... and I always say "Duh!" right after. Once you have clicked 'Update' it is a pain to find the patch notes (hence how I found this thread searching for them). Thanks for the tip!
  5. I have the 2/3 positions working in 1.5, but they don't seem to "take" in 2.5. Anybody else experienced this or know what I might be missing? thanks in advance
  6. Dang, missing 1 piece.... 1 very important piece! Thanks for adding the screenshots.
  7. The above sounds correct to me, but I tried to get some screenshots to help the OP and I couldn't get it to work in 2.5... maybe I am missing something? Mission attached. LateStarter.miz
  8. First, welcome back to DCS! Your best bet is to spend several hours with the graphics settings (I know, not all that much fun). I was struggling with FPS in v2.2 and found that MSAA setting had a large impact, but in v2.5 MSAA at x2 and my FPS is ROCK SOLID at 60 FPS (with VSync turned on). Drop your settings to low/off and give DCS a try, hopefully your FPS skyrockets and then you can begin the climb on settings to find what is killing your FPS and finally settle into a "sweetspot" for you between eye-candy and FPS. Good luck and post questions/findings for the rest of us!
  9. Did not know this, thanks for sharing!
  10. Possibly download the BS1 from DCS found here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/previous_versions/dcs_black_shark_english/ install it and then use you key to activate. Never done this, but might work. Good Luck and let us know how it goes!
  11. To me: DCS represents a "study sim" whereas consoles are about instant gratification, mindless sorts of games. This I know is an unfair stereotype, but I would be sad if DCS ported to that platform and then began to "dumb-down" the simulation which would be required to win over the majority of those types of players. Again, just my opinion and an unfair one of the console market I sure.
  12. Thank you for this, can't get enough of the HUD video to show us what it should look like. Love studying these.
  13. Thanks for the tips DazzyB, that worked for me! Really is a cool way to experience VR without having to jump in the deepend!
  14. Update from me as well.... I got the mouse working now (I hadn't turned it on in the settings), but experiencing the same issue as DazzyB currently, everything to the right is unclickable :(. Hope the developer has some luck!
  15. Thanks for sharing this. I downloaded and gave it a try. I got the VR hanger up, but similar to you, I can't get the mouse on the screen to click anything. On my monitor I can see the mouse try to move into the DCS window, but it then drifts to the sides... almost like the headset is controlling it. Sorry I can't help your issue, but wanted to say thanks and add my woes to this for debugging purposes.
  16. Thanks for this video, valid today as much as it was back then.
  17. I was on the Carl Vinson in the early 90s. The entire ship would shutter (100,000ton displacement mind you) when they would launch those TomCats off. Good times! Thanks for the pics. Oh, and I remember a medical emergency being called out while underway because some dude poked his eye out running in the hanger bay and got the horizontal stabilizer in the eye from one of those birds. (OUCH!).
  18. I had this same issue. My answer to this is to not trim the aircraft or reset the trim as described above (double-tap standby). Now I do not get the decol warning. I just bought the aircraft in the last sale and read all the forum post about how easy the 2000 was to land. My experience is landing the delta wing softly (mostly nosewheel contact) has been a challenge! I can now get it on the ground in good enough shape to be flown again, but I alway cringe as the nose drops hard as I slow down. Good luck!
  19. Awesome video. thanks for sharing.
  20. I don't own the Mig-21 module but suffer the same at times with the WWII modules I own. Every time I find it to be me being heavy-footed on one of the rudder pedals. In this case, could you be slightly pressing on the right rudder pedal? Good luck in your trouble shooting!
  21. Fair point, I have seen 1/4 second lags while playing MP as well, just not 5 seconds like you reported. The small hiccups I have seen are distracting, but I have not experienced the big lags you are talking about. While I will always welcome improvements, I am content with my experience. I wish you the best of luck!
  22. Did you give the command I recommended above a try? If you get that going (it will ping in the background continuously) and load up your favorite MP Server (104th) the next time you get disconnected you can 'Alt-Tab' over to the command prompt and see if you connection ever dropped. If it does then you have an issue on your end to resolve, if not, then you are back to square 1. These are just things I have done in the past when troubleshooting my own connection as I have had ISP troubles (switched providers because of it). Hopefully others can chime in here as well and lend a hand with their solutions. I know this doesn't help, but I log in to the 104th quite often without any trouble. Good Luck!
  23. +1, love my old G13. As far as RGB... it does have color adjustable lighting. You can set almost any color for the LED display and the backlighting for the keys. I never have found a good use for the attached joystick though.... anyone using that in a useful way? Here is my setup: (sorry, not sure how to rotate the attachments, but you get the idea! :(
  24. I am unable to use my mouse to move the camera around in the F2 external view for the ONLY the Mig-29A. I have tried it with many other aircraft (A-10C, Su-25T, Mig-29S) with no problems. The camera does move with the TrackIR head movement, but not with the mouse. Can anyone else give that a quick test and let me know if it is just me please.
  25. Since the file is meant to override the DCS defaults it isn't created by default so you must create the file. Just open your favorite text editor (Notepad++ for me) and create a new file named 'autoexec.cfg' in the following directory 'C:\Users\<YOURWINDOWSUSERNAMEHERE>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\'. Add the lines: options.graphics.ScreenshotQuality = 100 options.graphics.ScreenshotExt = "png" to the file and save. You should be good to go then. Remember each time you change the override settings in the 'autoexec.cfg' file (ScreenshotExt = "bmp" for example) you have to reload DCS.
