Agree whit above, in planes like the SU-25 and the SU-25T having a (human) wingmen is essential. Opens up a whole new and rather large toolbox to use in combat. Another tip, explore the mission editor. Its not that hard to use, and if you place targets yourself you know where to look. Not realistic, but a great training aid. Could even just put a column of vehicles at an neighbouring airport runway for target practice. (put in some IR sams once you feel more comfortable)

Yes it should, specially whit such an insane resolution. Try running the game on a single monitor and see if anything changes. Also, if you export MFD's like the Skvhal, Abris, or the A-10 ones, your rendering the world X times once for your view outside the cockpit once for the display in the cockpit once for the other display in the cockpit once for your exported view and one for your other exported view If i may ask, what is your "ress of cockpit displays" set to? If it is "....every frame" change it to a value without that. And try lowering it if possible.

Picture and text doc size in briefing window
159th_Falcon replied to FOXFIRE TWOONE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
512*512 i believe. -
Correct, for those that are curious. Correct encoding would be; UTF-8 without BOM No idea what that means, but it's what Notepad++ tells me.

Huey vs Mi8. Which one should I get?
159th_Falcon replied to Zeev's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Judging from your post you would want a Huey then. But i don't think you will be disappointed whit either of them. Mi-8 lacks a campaign at this point, Huey has one campaign. -
If you don't feel like editing that file again after each update do the following. Navigate to ..../savedgames/dcs/config Open the Network.cfg and resave it as "autoexec.cfg" Now delete every thing contained in the file and replace it whit the following; options.graphics.maxfps = 30 options.graphics.ScreenshotQuality = 100 ScreenshotExt = "bmp" All settings made in this file will not be overridden by updates, which is very handy. The maxfps line dictates the maximum fps the simulator will generate, regardless of available computing power. This is very useful if your fps tends to fluctuate causing stutters. Limiting the fps in that case will produce an overall more smooth flying experience. If you don't want to limit the fps you can simply disable it by deleting the line, setting the value to 0 or setting the value higher then what your system can produce.

Don't remember the date, but battlefield 4 will be the first game to support MANTLE. So definitely not a hype, think we can use it ourselves in like 2 months, maybe sooner. If you have BF4 and an compatible AMD card ofcourse.

51st 104th 159th and many more still. 51st has fairly good A-A missions whit some A-G 104th has very nice A-G missions whit a need of A-A cover and great briefings 159th has very nice helicopter and A-G missions whit troop drop script for Huey and Hip. Also, most server are running either SLmod or Servman, both let you switch mission by typing commands in chat to start a mission vote. For servman type; /m to get mission list /v m # where # is number of the mission /yes and /no to vote Then you can also votekick other players for bad behavior; /pl (or /p not sure) for player list /v pl (or p) # where # is again the player number (hope i remembered this right, same idea for SLmod but no experience whit its commands)

That i do very well at nitpicking and the AP and SAS system buttons/controls are wrongly named. For example, the famous blue buttons, there called AP in his explanation. Even though there part of the SAS. The fact that the AP needs those systems to function itself doesn't make them AP buttons/controls. ***EDIT*** Try this post from IvanK, if i remember right this one IS correct, and MUCH more detailed; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36246 Could be confusing it whit a different post though.

Pretty sure PeterP has posted a solution to this. Did you try filtering search results by posts made by him?

Ok, if i'm right the following should help you. Assuming you can get the TGP pointing straight at the target. When you have done the above, set as SPI (something HOTAS long up if i remember right, been months........) Then set the Mav's to SOI and Slave to SPI Now, to get the Mav to lock, instead of slewing it use the hotas button. TMS up Short, again if memory serves me right. If it doesn't lock, you may be to far away, try again after closing some distance. (for mav D around 7 miles should work 90% of the time)

Good to know the crisis is averted Morpheus. And if you want to learn flying a specific aircraft whit a team, its always an idea to join an online squad you think you like. Learning online whit other experienced pilots isn't only much more fun, it goes faster to. (cough, see Signature cough cough.:D)

In that mission your ready for take-off. Even whit flaps on full down. Might not be ideal, but certainly should not cause any troubles. Pretty sure the mission is borked. Question is, how?
-
Ah, so you hearth the Radar Warning Receiver going of. Very useful tool indeed, once you understand how it works. Then again, if your not all that serious about flying the SU-25T might as well turn down its volume. Believe the key combination is; Volume down: Ralt , Volume up: Ralt . (comma and period) Mind you though, Black Shark 2 will run at a lower FPS then the Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft of which the SU-25T is a part of. (well was, but that's a detail in this case)

Could be a lot of things, even some surface clipping on that particular side of the runway on that airfield causing a blown tire and subsequent damages. As for the voice warnings, that's eiter Bitching Betty or Nagging Nadia. Just like real wifes, they keep moaning about what's wrong but are to lazy to do **** all about and they keep going until you shut em up. (Rshift + N your mileage might vary on your own wife/girlfriend though)

About A-A in a 25(T), i think it's underradet and under appreciated; Original thread to be found here, has a couple screenshots of the action; http://www.159thgar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7536

Lol, try the F2 view and use the scroll wheel of your mouse to zoom out. Should help navigate round the taxi-ways. Something else you can do is make a simple "mission" yourself. Open the mission editor, and the LH side is a column of icons. Look for the plane and click it. Now left click somewhere on the map, doesnt matter where. An icon should appear reprecenting the plane. In the RH column that now popped up select Russia as a country, Airplane as SU-25T and under type chose "take off from runway" Go back to the LH column again and look for the green checkmark, click it to fly your mission. No need to save it. (in 1.2.6 the checkmark could have a different color, believe it's blue but not sure) Try flying that mission a couple times, and see what happens. If all goes OK its something whit the Long Day mission If the same happens well, i'm clue less really. In addition to the post above, here is how the slider works; ED has looked up how common bird strike are in real life during certain flight phases and altitudes. Setting the slider to 100% means the bird strike likelihood corresponds to real life data Setting it to 200% doubles the likelihood of a birdstrike when compared to real life data Setting it to 50% cuts the likelihood of a birdstrike in halve when compared to real life data

Don't bother to waste your time, its not correct. There is one really good post somewhere here on the forums that explains it very well. Question is, where is it?

Ill have a look once my DCS W is updated. Well, that went quicker then expected. First off, your take-off speed is good, track showed about 300 km/h. (maybe you were referring to 230 knots?) About what's happening, not sure. First track could be a bird strike. Second track both your hydraulic systems fail. Looked in the mission options and in the editor, but couldn't find any preset random system failures. Though you do have the bird strike slider set to 50%. That could explain the first track, but not the 2nd, do you have random failures enabled in your own game options? Only thing i can think of. Or maybe the mission got corrupted after an update, try opening it in the editor, safe it under a different name and try to fly it, see what happens.

Don't forget, IF they have managed to get some electrical system drawings from the weapons. Then they can also easily find out if it was indeed possible to limit the number of guns firing by pulling Circuit Breakers. Though, if this is indeed the case i would expect the following to happen. Instead of having two key binds available in the options, only as in real life. But if you decide to pull the right Circuit Breaker in flight, then only guns XYZ will fire. So this way DCS is still going by the blue prints, AND we got our unofficial field tweak.

No idea, but Mantle is completely different then G-sync. G-sync is only aimed at synchronizing the frame output whit the frame display. Mantle is a new way to code game engine's without the need of DirectX meaning there coding on the hardware directly. Increasing performance for the game that would otherwise be used up by DirectX. (and that can be significant, anywhere between 5 and 40 percent)
-
230 sounds awfully low for take-off. Especially fueled up and whit a weapons load out. (dont now the mission) Try something like 280 to 320 and see how that goes. Also note that the SU25(T) has two flap positions. One step down is for combat and take-off Full down is for landing
-
Just what we need, another vendor exclusive feature. The real breakthrough will come when we get the same technology's coming from different company's. Currently, or well, in a few months. You will have to chose between; Nvidea G-sync AMD's Mantle Both are very promising technology's, and the time that all GPU manufacturers should be able to provide it was last week. Not somewhere in the future.

Now, if he would have asked for an DCS module FC3:F-35 i might have voted yes. Then again, how classified is classified these days? I live in The Netherlands and have already laid my hands on some F-35 parts. Nothing special really, just some landing gear stuff, but considering our government didn't even make a final decision weather to buy the thing or not........ Oh, and no i do NOT work for the government or the military.
