screw this.. I'm on the torrent too Now- looky here- never used this.. Do I need to just stay on in order to speed up the torrent for everyone? I become a seeder when it's done?
-
heh... setup 1 & 2- 2 days left setup 3- 2 hours with d/l rate slowing more & more.. it's gonna be crazy like this for a while...
-
she's coming slow- but coming.. (the files)
-
Yeah.. I guess I could see that.. It's unnerving because I think we are all too accustomed to ED's past visibility compromises- i.e. little black dots coming into view..
-
I've encountered this several times. I've read the threads, and I will try the settings described- but I must say.. How ridiculously counterintuitive could this get? The idea that you cannot SPI something with the TGP, switch to guns, and smoke it strikes me as.... odd.

Finally...trackIR 5....purchased

very nice. You will kick yourself for not buying it sooner- even if it were your second day flying.. -
Nice. Thanks for what you do, by the way.

I would guess they have some sort of shutdown procedure too- don't need to have fuel and potential ignition sources mingling in a hangar. Just seems that since any potential randomness of the switches' state is not present in DCS- the checklist in its current form is seriously bloated.
-
On the subject of ED changing the startup procedures- A suggestion: Since the switches all seem to be in a default position (ready to go)- going on and on about fuel systems, nav systems, & radio switches that are apparently ALWAYS going to be in the correct position doesn't really seem necessary to me. I realize that in the real cockpit these are things that need to be checked everytime- but in this case- the plane is coming up in exactly the same state. Don't need 40 steps in the checklist about switches that are already going to be set.

You can get the HSI course by referencing the airfield chart. Download this: DCS Airport charts This might not be accurate- but better than nothing.. You can find pretty official NAV versions online As far as the runway numbers and where they come from- it's derived from those actual headings A runway like Batumi whose heading is about 130.7 according to worldaerodata.com would have 13 asigned to it.. A couple of them don't make much sense to me- like Kopitnari- which says "253" but has a runway of 26... Why that's not a 25 runway- I don't know. Again- I can't speak for the accuracy of this set of charts.. In fact- the more I look at them- the more dubious they seem. There's quite a few that are too perfect (runway 07= 070, runway 25= 250)..

Actually Batumi's runway appears to be closer to 131 than 130, but I couldn't tell you if the decimals are rounded up..

** Strategies on how to look for targets with the TGP??**
S77th-konkussion replied to JEFX's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yep. Also-either "2 + func" or "func+2" on the UFC (can't remember right this second) will bring up the menu with Divert OSB. .. same as what Strongharm said on the CDU itself- just a little easier to operate. -
What happens when you try to assign the pedals in FC2's option\axis menu? You show 3 separate devices? Positive you are assigning the axis to the correct one? Are you using control manager?
-
You have to wait for the INS to align itself. After setting your right MFD to CDU- wait for the INS NAV READY to flash. It takes around 4 minutes or so. Once this is ready- press the NAV mode OSB, the TAD map display will come up on the left MFD, and you will be able to engage the EAC. If you press the NAV button prior to this queue- the alignment process resets to inflight or whatever-- and you will be waiting quite a few minutes before the EAC will work.

Officially - Will A10 be Compatible with BS?
S77th-konkussion replied to Lonecrow66's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Leave FC in the past. They can do as they wish, obviously- but there's certainly no mixing those aircraft (modeling wise) and and DCS moving forward. It surprised me to see a hi fi aircraft like the BS joined with LOMAC era planes- but seems like it's time to move on. Looking ahead you don't want to have ultra real high workload mixed in with the equivalent of a point-n-shoot.. I don't see this as splitting anyone. We have a us based fighter coming, there will be more- likely from several nations. Plus- ED can't be hamstrung by previous legal & financial obligations (Ubi as an example) forever to keep an obsolete (in every way) title afloat. It has to reach a point of diminishing return at some stage... -
Besides- most of the American mega-breweries are foreign owned anyway.. I can't touch any of their swill.. Micro-brews all the way... Sam Adams a well known- but still a micro brew compared to Coors, A-B, etc.. Great stuff. Awesome. Boston Lager, Winter Lager, several others are just delectable. Old Shipyard- can't find this stuff here in the Southern US... Great New England brew... SO many more.. Way too many to list..

Officially - Will A10 be Compatible with BS?
S77th-konkussion replied to Lonecrow66's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Seems to me that the original idea was that anything wearing "DCS" would be modular and compatible with the others. It was the pairing of BS and FC2 that was not really expected. Given that and Wags' post I'd say that's what they want and intend to do unless some major blockage or problem comes up.. -
The TR got glitched or accidently scalped in B4. It was a clear R in B3. I considered bringing this up a while ago, but kinda forgot about it.
-
I think he meant irrelevant specifically to ED's schedule, but I could be wrong..
-
As few as they can- but as many as it takes.. good god.

A10- not even close to me.
