Do the Missing Lines also include the CCIP HUD Symbology ? I can't for the life of me get the CCIP targeting lines to show up. I have lots of M-82's, they are selected, I'm in CIP mode and have tried hitting the Cage/Uncage repeatedly. Although the HUD does say it's in CCIP Mode, I have yet to see a targeting line. Furthermore, I have done everything I can see is being done in the following video as well "I HAVE READ THE MANUAL" for what it's worth at the moment. If the Missing Lines issue resolved in the top post is NOT my problem, can someone please explain why I haven't seen the CCIP Targeting symbology when it appears I have everything else set up properly ?

I apologize if this has already been mentioned but I cannot find any related posts/threads. I have recently noticed problems with the Quansit Hut Textures in DCS 1.5 OB. I'm not sure how long the issue has existed but it has NOT been very long. Probably within the last month or so at most. The quansit huts are all metal (arc roof) and generally (in real life) are simply silver or grey because they are built with Galvanized Steel. However, in DCS 1.5 OB these buildings have been both grey and black. The black is patchy ... that is, it is visible for different, nonsensical areas of the buildings. Mostly on one end of the buildings. It is very distracting because the black really stands out and often looks like a vehicle from a distance. Furthermore, while looking in FLIR (day or night) it looks like part of the building is giving off a heat signature which also can be mistaken for vehicles. I have included a screenshot or rather and edited Part of a Screenshot that was NOT taken to illustrate this issue. But I'm sure it will suffice to show the problem. Hopefully ED is already aware of this issue and/or are able to resolve it soon. Thanks in Advance.

I agree Magic Zach. I would also love to have the P-38 ... for sure. It is excellent for both dog fighting and air to ground attacks. I love flying this bird in Aces High .. but that is a Game .. Not a Sim. But I still know what I like !

After attempting that mission many times, I just stopped flying this campaign.

I'm having a brain fart trying to figure out a new mod installation requirement. Some if not most of my Mods go into the _Mods folder I created in the Main DCS 1.5 OB folder. But now I have Mods that are required to go into the Saved Games folder instead (as well as those that must be active in my main dcs mods folder). So my confusion is with regards to making some mods go in one place while others go to a different place. Any Help for that ?

Waypoint Indicator (in Artificial Horizon) is Not Working
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ramsay >> Thanks for that. I never noticed this in the update logs. I liked the way it worked before but I'll get used to this I'm sure. Continuously Relearning. -
Redglyph ... You haven't hijacked anything. I think our issues are very similar if not related. The only difference for me was while in Alt Hold, I'd increase collective but would end up slowing down (to 100 or less) instead of speeding up like it used to do. I never used trim while in Alt Hold (or speed hold for that matter). Only Collective. I stopped seeing the Nose Up/Nose Down attitude when trimming when NOT using Alt Hold. My issues appear to have been corrected using Mag Brake switch as suggested.
-
Ya I definitely don't get it unless this is something that has been recently changed intentionally. But I'll take it as long as it works. The unfortunate thing is the 2 weeks of unnecessary frustration. It's a continuous Relearning experience. Who knows what it will be like next week and next month !! I hope you too get your trim issues resolved quickly. I can say that mine was doing much the same with the slowing down when it should be speeding up etc. It surely can't be intended and I know it worked correctly a few weeks ago (and for many months prior to that). At least that has been my experience. Thanks again friend.
-
Well this seems to have worked. Just to confirm, my FFB is UNCHECKED in the DCS Controls Options. I have activated the Magnetic Brake Switch and the Trim now appears to be behaving normally (or as it should). Oddly, I have NEVER needed this Magnetic Switch in the past.

Waypoint Indicator (in Artificial Horizon) is Not Working
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
I apologize. Please Disregard this topic for the moment. I paused to write that report and when I jumped back into the cockpit, it now "seems" to be working. I will update OR delete this thread as necessary as soon as I can confirm. -
Today is the first time I have flown the Gaz in a week or so (due to Trim issues). DCS 1.5 OB is up to date with the latest patch/update. I have waypoints set in this mission I have created (and flown many times previously). But for some reason today, my course alignment needle in the Artificial Horizon is not working at all. As always, I have the "?" switch set to DOP but the needle doesn't seem to do anything. The NADIR/ADF waypoint indicator needle seems to be working fine. PS> Everything is warmed up before take off so the Mileage Counter is activated etc. So I don't understand why the Waypoint Indicator in the Artificial Horizon is No Longer Working ?

Hi borchi 2b I will try that MagTrim BUT I thought that was used ONLY IF you have FFB and or like using the Magnet Trim which I don't or at least haven't been using ? Is this something new ? Because this has never been an issue for me for the last 6 months or so (actually from the beginning of the Gaz Release). BTW - Today is the first time I have been in the Gaz for a week or so. So far it "appears" that my trim is again working ... I think. I'll get back to you on this one. But not my WP Needle doesn't work on the HSI ... but I'll open a new thread on that.

YES. I'll second that.

Thank you kindly Grimes. Much Appreciated. Have a great week.

Updated Shooting Range/Training Zone for Harrier
SnowTiger replied to CrimsonGhost's topic in User Created Missions General
Thank you for doing this feefifofum. As mentioned in my reply (in that other thread), I have done very little with the ME for a long time. Any time I do try to create something, I quickly learn that I'm in over my head and end up just wasting a couple hours ending in frustration !! So I'm very grateful to have this mission created. And I hope you won't mind if I study your mission scripting and/or editing with hopes of actually learning something. Thanks again. -
Not avaiable "pre-contact" at 1.56 in air refueling
SnowTiger replied to k-middlegear's topic in Mission Editor
Thank you kindly friend. I appreciate the effort that is required to create even some of the simplest missions, let alone any mission with multiple aircraft and/or triggers or even worse, script. I did start making missions in DCSW 1.2 (with some skilled help from Do0om) but when 1.5 came out, my missions crapped out such that even my help couldn't figure it out. With continued updates that often appear to wreak havoc on previously-created missions for even the best mission creators, I have sadly ignored the ME now for quite some time. But still you are correct, I should at least "dabble" to have a minimal of ability with the ME. Thanks again. -
I'd love to have a P-38. I think it would be an excellent WW2 mode for both Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground attacks.

So does this mean that the route will only include 2 orbits ? Is there no way for the Tankers to Orbit Indefinitely OR until they need to land and refuel ? If they need to land and refuel, take off and return to an orbit race track, will they not do that on their own OR with some sort of Triggers ? And finally, when you wrote > "Create four waypoints and make two orbit patterns for them. So WP 1, Orbit, Race Track, 220 @ 400 knots. WP 3, Orbit, Race Track, 190 @ 210 knots." Are the commands "Orbit, Race Track" in the Lua Script OR are these Triggers or Commands or what ? I have no idea because I am useless with the ME in general. Any chance someone would make a reasonably simple Single Player Refueling mission for the Harrier in Caucus map ? I'd love to have a Parking Lot Hot Start and Parking Lot Cold Start Harriers in a Refueling Mission that I can Train to fly and refuel in. If I had such a mission to use and view in the ME, I might be able to start figuring the ME out a bit.

Not avaiable "pre-contact" at 1.56 in air refueling
SnowTiger replied to k-middlegear's topic in Mission Editor
How Close is Close Enough ? I have yet to refuel ANY aircraft yet but would like to create a Single Player Training Mission with the Harrier. However, I have No Idea how to make the Course/Track for a Tanker, nor the distance between turns; it's recommended speed; altitude (20,000 ft ?) and more importantly, how to get the tanker to continue on the same orbit until it needs to land to refuel ? BTW - I have had VAC for a couple years and have yet to use it. Based on your last comment re: Comms and Flight ... I think this will be a great time to start figuring it out so I can Voice Command my Comms to come up and to do all the selections. I'm sure this will not only be more realistic but will prevent those annoying and difficult Comms Selections when trying to fly very accurately !! -
+1 Yanks BaD CrC >> Will we see a day when creating Templates will allow us to encompass (or include) ALL vehicles/buildings/objects etc within a Single Template ? i.e. We currently can't create a FARP with a single template placement. The templates only contain a group or specific type of object. Meaning we may have to place a few templates to complete a FARP. This too blows !

Problems with trim and overall stability in level flight
SnowTiger replied to Redglyph's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks for the link. I just might try that out. Otherwise I might just dump the Open Beta and install the Full Version which I have yet to do. I could always take another 6 months off with hopes things will be better then but it didn't seem to make any difference this summer !! lol -
Defaul Cockpit Views in MP - Read from our PC's
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I'll be honest and say "I don't know" but that sounds like the perfect solution. That would certainly suit me fine. Otherwise, it would be great if our own configs would over-ride the server snap views. -
That figures re: Track no longer working. Any time I have used Altitude hold, I get to a constant speed and altitude and then apply the Alt Hold. I use the trim to at least assist in reaching the speed I like. The fact is, I rarely used the Alt Hold, but when I do, in order to speed up or slow down I just use the Collective which seems to control the pitch just enough to speed up/slow down without having to touch the trim. Oddly, I have been in one Gaz Model in a mission of mine (training only) and everything seems to work perfectly. Then I jump into another model and the trim doesn't work at all. The latter being the issue I am having more often than not. Even in other training missions of my own AND Online, the trim won't work. PS> I haven't had a chance to check out your Track yet. Will do that this morning. Thanks again.

Problems with trim and overall stability in level flight
SnowTiger replied to Redglyph's topic in Bugs and Problems
I apologize Redglyph. The whole thing is frustrating me because it makes no sense to me. I have literally checked everything I can think of checking and anything anyone else has mentioned. Nothing is noticeably different from before in settings etc. I didn't mean to chew your ass. To be honest, I was hoping Polychop would have a suggestion for us or would like to see our sys files or something. So again, I apologize. And I will still check your Track. -
I'd say any post that suggests that someone who has been a member for 8 years wouldn't be smart enough to read the manuals is a bit pathetic. And a comment like SNIPED can easily be misinterpreted ... or not. The fact is, people post ignorant replies all the time. It's not necessary. Nor is it necessary to assume that anyone with a question hasn't read the manuals. To the point, I thought your replies were snarky. I apologize if I misinterpreted them. But I ask you to think about how your post sounds before hitting the reply button.
