  1. I have noticed that when picking up Cargo in the Huey (in a Cargo Mission I created myself a while back) that when you look outside at the Slung Cargo, there are 2 Cargo Hooks above the cargo. There should only be 1 hook. I realize this is a graphic issue but it's all programming in the long run.
  2. I don't know if this little nugget will help anyone or not .. but.. I have the CH Pro Rudder Pedals which have a centre (or if you prefer center) detent. This can be annoying when trying to calmly and smoothy Hover in the Huey or any other Chopper. So for each of my chopper mods/aircraft I have set a "3" dead zone (all directions) which is just enough to get past the detent, therefore nullifying it's nasty effects. In fact, I do the same for the P-51 Rudder too, allowing me to adjust my aim more accurately and smoothly. But with regards to the Stick/Cyclic, I can surely understand why you'd want to remove springs and detents. It would eliminate the need for Trim and Trim Reset functions ... wouldn't it ?
  3. I have yet to fly on your Server but I have heard great things from a couple people who fly there regularly. One thing I'll say about Server Hosting etc, is that it takes a Tremendous amount of work and effort, not only to make sure things are continuously working well, especially when DCS Updates are Frequent and often have an adverse affect on Missions, requiring manual repairs and edits to already complex mission scripts. But more importantly and time/effort demanding, is the actual Mission Creation itself. While I know "almost nothing" about mission creation, I have had help from D0o0m (DoW) who has created the vast majority of missions we flew for a couple years on the DoW Server (which is currently waiting for the DCS World Updates to Settle before continuing ... as far as I know). Each of the missions created by D0o0m are/were very detailed and likely very complex to create (with shit tons of testing and re-testing). All of his efforts paid off because it made for exciting and unique missions that many people could (and did) enjoy. All said, the point I am trying to make is > that I can only guess that Mirknir (who I have never met online or off and I know Nothing about) has surely put an unprecedented amount of time and effort into mission creation with hopes of having a Server that works well and satisfies the majority of people that fly in that server. So I'd say without people like Mirknir and D0o0m, there would be very few successful and interesting Servers for any of us to choose from. And in order to encourage the likes of them to continue and to help offset the Cost of Maintaining Servers and Updates to Servers and Missions AND to help contribute for the Long Hours of Mission Creation and Testing, I highly recommend that people consider DONATIONS as often as possible. Even a $3 or $5 donation monthly can add up if enough people donate. It is a small price to pay to ensure fun every time you play ! Keep up the good work Mirknir and D0o0m and all others who dedicate so much time to their Server(s) of choice.
  4. Hilarious > I love it. I have had many of those !
  5. Oh I know what that's like BitMaster. I got hit in the knee on a bike. Almost spun me right off as my left leg was twisted up behind me, almost across the seat. Not Fun at all. Bird Strikes are no joke at any time.
  6. That Sucks. It sure puts a damper on this thread. But I get it. Bird strikes are no joke. I'm sorry about your friend (and his co-mates).
  7. It is unfortunate that this Mission's Issues have never been resolved. It is one of the best single player missions I have encountered. That is, I found it to be very satisfying and had just enough variation of activities to keep you busy for hours. Another excellent mission (Single and Multiplayer) was "HueyDrop" and "HueyDrop 2". I'd love to see these missions revamped to operate in DCSW 1.5 again (and then hopefully in 2.5 whenever we no choice but to switch).
  8. I'm aware that it is Canada Geese/Goose. A Gaggle is when they are on the ground (I think). But I call them Canadian Geese just because the USA calls itself America. I figure if USA can have America, the least Canadians can take ownership of is Our Geese ! LOL
  9. The funny thing is, when I discovered the Seagulls in DCS 2 Nevada (I'm Not sure if I was the first to discover it but I am pretty sure I was the first to Post about it), I was flying a Huey around "the dam" and reservoir etc. I actually tried to kill them by shooting at them and blade chopping them etc. Seems they are Indestructible. But for a moment I thought, "oh great", DCS decided to actually have Birds to fly into rather than just a "random chance equation" setting to determine that you have bird damage. The latter would suck because you'd be flying around and all of a sudden things go all wrong. You would have NO Idea why they went wrong until "MAYBE" the report would specify that you hit birds. Of course if I saw the bloody things I'd at least try to avoid them ... unlike in the Huey in Nevada !! So ya .... Please Do Model Birds !! Don't let me stop you ! LOL Thanks Everyone ..... for bursting my bird bubble !
  10. Well DAMN. I was almost hoping it was Geese. A little liveliness in the bush would only add to the ambiance. Especially when even on Medium, I can't get Civilian traffic to show up .. much if ever. After discovering the Seagulls, I thought for sure this must be Geese. I get the Hover Sway movement bit. But from the views I was seeing this .. mirage ... I would have sworn they were moving to ~! Okay .. Case Closed .. and Resolved. NEXT !!
  11. I'll run a Repair before flying again to see if that resolves my issue. I'll be sure to report back either way. Thanks y'all !
  12. Sorry. I should have mentioned that this was in DCS 1.5 Open Beta.
  13. Geese or Graphic issue with Trees ? Here is a series of screenshots taken while hovering (i.e. stationary). You can watch them as they flew past me. There are one or two other shots taken at different locations. They are Numbered in the order in which they were taken. I should point out that I have only noticed this over the last week or two, so I thought maybe (like the Seagulls in the Nevada map) they had been added to the Caucus map in an update. The important thing to note is that while I'm stationary, this Flock (or whatever it is) was not. Furthermore, they can be seen without using the Targeting Cam/Vivianne.
  14. I most certainly did the update yesterday or day before.
  15. I'm not going to say that it's not a graphic glich but I can say for sure that it is NOT the trees. I'll upload a few more images shortly to make the point.
  16. Has anyone else noticed a Flock of Geese in DCS 1.5 ? I have seen this a few times now. This "flock" of whatever, flies back and forth and all around. I have seen this both through the cockpit windows and in the Gazelle's Vivienne monitor. See attached screenshot (it's one of many I took showing their movement). PS> I am assuming by the flight pattern that these are Canadian Geese.
  17. It appears that the Broken Gazelle on restart issue has Not been corrected as suggested in the latest Update Changelog DCS SA-342 Gazelle by Polychop No more persistent damages when starting a new mission with the helicopter crashed during a previous mission I just had this happen (see attached screenshot taken 5 mins ago).
  18. Great to see you dooom. I'll surely take you up on your offer. In fact, I'd still really like to get that Huey mission fixed and finished (started in 1.2). But I'll PM you about that some other time. Hope to catch you in the air again soon buddy. Salute.
  19. Okay ... now how do I get them to Stop Shooting at Me ? LOL Just Kidding !
  20. Well that would certainly explain it. I definitely added them as Static Objects. The Obvious never occurred to me that if they are Static, they do nothing. Thanks for opening my eyes. This in fact, probably explains why I was unable to destroy one of the objects I had previously placed in the mission (which I ultimately changed). Thanks again.
  21. Although I have created a few simple missions I am still very much a NOOB when it comes to using the ME. Currently, I have created a super-simple mission with a couple static targets to shoot at. I have yet to create any Flags or Trigger Zones or anything like that. (or at least, none that helped with this current issue). Basically, I have placed a few different aircraft at an airport from which I can choose what to fly. I have created a Target Area consisting of a few Static Targets. On either side of these static objects are 2 Towers. The Towers (and target objects) are Set as Enemy Country objects (i.e. Red). When I fly towards and over the towers, they do nothing. I can land right beside them and they don't shoot. So obviously I am doing something wrong (i.e. I'm missing something). I did try creating a couple Trigger Zones and Flags etc but these didn't seem to help any. Is this not sufficient that they are on Team RED that they should shoot at me when I'm in their range (whatever that is ?) ? Of course, I'm assuming that because I'm on Blue Team and the Towers are Red Team that they should shoot at me at some point in time, but this obviously isn't the case OR at least I have done something wrong. Or not enough right !!! ??? Anyway, how can I make them shoot at me ? AND is there a Range/Distance they can shoot or when they'll shoot ? Is it visible in the ME ?
  22. Like SFC Taco (and probably MANY others), it took me a few days of tearing up the runway before I was able to get the Mustang in the Air. It's like trying to learn to Hover with the Huey (or any other Rotary Aircraft for the first time). It takes time and practice but then it's like riding a bike ... same same. Tinkickef, if you wish to PM me, I'll gladly spend some time with you to help you get off the ground and back safely. I had to have help and I'm glad I asked (Thank you Shahdoh). Please also make sure your Hotas Preferences are set up properly and consistently for the SIM version for BOTH P-51 and TF-51. Each has to be customized/set up. They should be the same (IMO). Again, if you like, just PM me and I'll hook up with you on any Server you like (DCS 1.5 please), any time you like. Who knows, with the right couple of comments, something might take hold and you'll be flying like a champ in an hour or two.
  23. First of all, I am NOT good at scripting missions, BUT I have made a few simple missions that actually work (thanks to some excellent help from DoW_D0o0M). One thing you might try if you haven't already AND if it's possible considering what you are trying to do, ... is to set Triggers using Flags with Time Limits. i.e. When "UNIT "?" flies outside the subject Trigger Zone, Set Timer to Start and configure it for a set the total time (i.e. "X" Minutes or Seconds) to return to said trigger zone OR such-and-such happens. I have found that Timed Triggers can be very helpful in the instances that I have used them. Maybe this idea will help you achieve your goals ? Good Luck with it.
  24. Unless something has changed, different ambient air temps can and do affect the startup procedures and ease. I have been in a couple server missions where the Mustang was very difficult to start without going through a cold-startup procedure ... and even then we often fried our starters and had to jump into a new cockpit (cause at the time at least, Repair didn't fix the starter). This was a year ago so it may well be much different now for all I know and I haven't flown the Mustang for at least 4 months.
  25. @Esac LOL I think I read this is zoom-out at the beginning is something to do with TiR but I'm not sure about that. In any case, it only takes a couple seconds. Providing you have a zoom in/out/reset function on your Hotas Stick, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. As far as I know, there is NO WAY to avoid this issue.
