  1. Ah .. ya. Of course I have checked out the Pocket Guide. Amongst other things I used it to help set up my Hotas. But it's hard to look at the guide while in the cockpit. And a pain in the ass going in and out of DCS to read it and no I don't have a printer. I also found lots of videos. I found none that show the actual startup procedure. However, I'll look for Jabber's vids. So thanks for that. EDIT>> Turns out I watched all of Jabber's Harrier Vids EXCEPT his "Early Access - Startup" video. I'm still surprised that there is no Auto Start. Sometimes it's nice to just jump in and go. I did create a mission for Training but I didn't plan on setting it up to be Already Running Hot. It's a little disappointing even for pre-purchase or early release. Maybe still premature. Thanks for the replies. Even the snarky ones. I just wish people wouldn't treat everyone like a noob.

  3. Cold Startup and Other Training Is there No OFFICIAL Training Tutorials or Videos ? How are we to learn without tutorials ? I haven't got an idea what to do sitting in the cockpit. It doesn't even seem to have Auto Start (L Win Home) ~~!
  4. I will try the Track File as you suggested but I don't see how that is going to help. This issue started for me Last Saturday. Prior to that I have been doing things the same way since the Gaz was released. I have Changed NOTHING. It all worked good prior to last week. And even now, the Controls Indicator and DCS Options/Controls and the Trim/Cockpit Stick Positions ALL work or appear to be working as they should. BUT the TRIM DOES NOT WORK. On the other hand, I have a mission (for training only) in which I have all 3 Gazelles with different loadout configurations (i.e. No Weapons, some, 2 or 4 Hot3s etc). If the M model has No Weapons the Trim works fine. With weapons, it's sluggish but I expect that .. but it still works. Then I jump into an Empty L or Mistral and then NOTHING. Trim actuates but does nothing. BTW I use the Same Trim Hat in other aircraft. It works perfectly there too. Again .. and for the last time ... Everything Appears to work correctly in that the Trim Controls work .. the TRIM Itself Does NOT work. I don't know how else to explain it. I have spelled it 3 ways 5 times.
  5. I would love to see the day when I don't have to set up or customize my Default Cockpit Views didn't have to be reconfigured every single time I get into a New/Different MP Server. It sucks having to keep doing this over and over and over again. It should not be necessary. Once we have set our default cockpit view(s) in SP (which is generally where we learn to fly each aircraft), we should NEVER have to set them up again. Once for each aircraft mod ONLY. When logging into an Online Server, DCS cockpit views should be read from our own PC's. NOT reverting to the Server's Default Views. It's a pain in the ass and totally unnecessary IMO PLEASE FIX THIS.
  6. Hi Redglyph. Ya I wish it was that easy. I learned a long time ago that it's best to wipe all system default settings and start customizing from scratch. That said, I have been flying the Gazelle since it was released. My Hotas has been set up since then with few minor changes. So what's weirding me out the most is the fact that I have changed Nothing. Everything is exactly as it was (for example Last Week) but all of a sudden my Trim is just not working. I did check FF to see if the update might have Checked that box ... but Nope. That would have been too easy. I rarely get away that easily ! BTW - While the Trim in the P-51 and the F-5E3 (and other DCS Aircraft I have) works a bit differently than in the Gazelle, I use the exact same Trim Hat in all of them. The Trim continues to work as it should in at least the 2 above-mentioned aircraft (checked yesterday). It is only in the Gazelle where I am finding this ISSUE all of a sudden (since Saturday ?). And as also mentioned, all the functions appear to work (between Hotas and In-Cockpit) it is only the Affects of Trim that are no longer working AND this adversely affects my Altitude Hold (i.e. It no longer works as it did and should). PS> While Polychop replied, there is no solution yet. I'm just wondering if there aren't some other Files I can send them to have them checked out.
  7. It appears you are having a couple of the same or similar Trim issues that I'm having (as can be seen in the following thread >>) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=196504 One big difference is that my trim at least was acting correctly up until 4 or 5 days ago and I have not experienced the Reversed Up Trim/Down Trim issues that you have ... but I might as well have. At least it would be doing something. Please, if you find a solution can you relay it to me in my thread and I will do the same for you IF I get a solution. Thanks in Advance
  8. Hi dooom. I did take a look at the FF checkbox. It was blank as I expected. Although, I figured it was best to look in case a patch/update had Checked it on me. So unfortunately that's not it. On the hand, I also tried flying the Gazelle in 2.5 (which did not get the same update) and I am having the same issue there too. So I am really confused about all this. IF there were no affects/reactions taking place in the cockpit then I'd say "it has to be my hotas". But when things "appear" to be working correctly and the cockpit corresponds with my hotas then I get confused. As such, I am completely confused now. But because I have not seen other reports of the same issue, I am left with thinking "It must be My Hotas" !!! I just can't understand WHAT ! I even checked my hotas to make sure it was sending ghost signals and Nope .. it appears to be all good. So the only thing I have left to try (that I can think of) is to Unplug and Reconnect my Hotas and see if that doesn't do something (even though it all appears to be working as it should). I'll give it a try but I don't expect any progress. PS> I think I already mentioned this but in case I didn't, it is important to note that I do not fly without the SAS/Trim etc. I like the extra stability features for most flying.
  9. I use the Trim Hat for Trim. I have never used the Magnetic Trim. I have no need for it. The "trimhat" as you call it, is still available. As mentioned, the first thing I check was that my Hat (and other Hotas functions) were being recognized in DCS Options/Controls. Hotas is working fine. Furthermore, as mentioned, the Controls Indicator/Manager sees the trim as it always has. The in-cockpit stick moves when applying trim and holds. The in-cockpit Stick resets to nuetral when Trim Reset (LCtrl+T) is hit. Everything seems to be fine as usual except the actual in-flight function of the trim. I don't know how else I can put it. It has me perplexed.
  10. Attached Track File I have just attached a Track File of a flight I just flew in an SP mission a few minutes ago. My Trim issue exists in both SP and MP Servers. I tried to create a video using GeForce Experience or whatever it's called. The video quality was poor and it did not record my voice. So I figured a Track File would be the next best thing. Clearly it's not BUT it does illustrate my issues well enough I think. I was hoping that the Track file would also show when I had the DCS Options/Controls ON during which you "would have been able" to see that my Hotas Stick IS being recognized ... but the Options do not show up in a Track. So, there is a few minutes of wasted time at the beginning of this Track. Sorry about that. If you Increase the Time/Speed (Left Ctrl+Z) until after I turn the Vivienne on you should see that my Trim Hat IS being recognized by the Controls Manager thingy. Furthermore you should be able to see that without touching my Stick other than to manipulate the Trim Hat, that the In-Cockpit Cyclic responds to my Trim settings and you can see that Trim Reset also works. But you should also see that the Trim doesn't actually appear to be doing ANYTHING (but mess me up). You should also be able to see that Alt Hold is NOT working as it should or certainly not as it has for several MONTHS now. I am doing absolutely NOTHING differently now than I have ever done in the Gazelle. All of my procedures are the same now as they were 2 months ago, let alone last week. But as of this weekend, it all went to S__t ! Gazelle - TRIM Does Not Work.trk
  11. [Note: Previously Posted in non-related thread] As of the last few days only, I have discovered that my Trim no longer seems to be working At ALL. While I noticed a Rolling affect when increasing/decreasing Collective, it appears this is supposed to be Normal (as of the latest update patch). But this also severely affects my flight even when using Altitude Hold. In fact, my Alt Hold is practically useless now. While in Alt Hold and increasing/decreasing collective to adjust my Speed, not only do I get this above-mentioned rolling effect as well as Pitching Up when collective is increased which ultimately Slows me down rather than Increasing Speed. Speeding up and/or slowing down while in Altitude Hold (AH) and the rolling action really make it difficult to see the advantage of AH. But more importantly is the issue of my TRIM. It worked perfectly until just a few days ago (I can only imagine it's a result of the Update). In DCS Options/Controls I can see my Hotas Trim Hat is recognized and works (as it has since the Gazelle was released). And while in the cockpit with the Controls Manager (CM) visible, I can clearly see that the Trim Inputs are being registered on the CM. But there appears to be absolutely No Trimming Effects taking place. Previously, I could and did fly primarily using this Trim for speeding up and slowing down. Now it seems completely Useless and just difficult to fly. And the Altitude Hold just acts wonky now. BTW - I do NOT have a Force Feedback Hotas. I use the X-55 Rhino. Furthermore I do NOT use the Magnetic Brake switch, but I DO have all the Trim settings turned on (rarely bother flying without the gyro and trim features). Is anyone else having this issue with their Trim ? Does anyone have a solution ? I have tried everything I can think of including DCS Repair to no effect. My Trim simply appears to have stopped working (although the Trim Hat IS working).
  12. I think most of my issue is a result of something completely different (re: Trim). So I think I'll repost in Trim-Related Thread (or start a new one). Thanks y'all.
  13. I have seen this done in a video (to confirm that it is done IRL). That said, I have had the opportunity to fire Hot3's while on the move. It is safer to do so in some respects because you are a moving target not a sitting duck. On the other hand, it is very difficult to hold the cross hairs on target when you are moving unless the pilot is really good at "keeping her straight and steady" so you have minimum steering adjustments to make. The pilot can put the (See Gazelle Manual Page 60 and 61) "vertical bar source selector knob" into the VIS position and then maintain the vertical bar centered on the Artificial Horizontal indicator (which in Vis mode is lined up with the direction the Vivienne is looking). But again, you can only adjust the aiming/steering so much or so fast. So while definitely possible and definitely done IRL, it is much easier and more accurate to fire from a fixed stable position/location.
  14. I am noticing this rolling effect (and slowing down dramatically but not sure about the nose up attitude) even when I'm in Altitude Hold. Speeding up and/or slowing down while in Altitude Hold (AH) and the rolling action really make it difficult to see the advantage of AH. On the other had, my Fine Trim no longer seems to have ANY effect (unlike prior to the update patch). In DCS Options/Controls I can see my Hotas Trim Hat is recognized and works (as it has since the Gazelle was released). While in the cockpit with the Controls Manager (CM) visible, I can clearly see that the Trim Inputs are being registered on the CM. But there appears to be absolutely No Trimming Effects taking place. Previously, I could and did fly primarily using this Trim for speeding up and slowing down. Now it seems completely Useless and just difficult to fly. And the Altitude Hold just acts wonky now.
  15. Good Enough. Thank again. I haven't had a chance to get back online in 2 days now but I trust your solution of disabling the plugin (which I have already done) will work. I had a suspicion that this was the culprit. So unless I'm still having difficulties tomorrow (or next time I'm on TS and your server), I'm satisfied with the answers and solution provided. Happy Flights.
  16. Thanks I will do that. Just for my own interest sake, any idea WHY the plugin does that ? Is it something to do with the Server (that may or may not happen in other MP servers) ? Thanks again.
  17. I trust is is safe to assume that you HAVE tried starting with the "Centering Toggle Switch" so that you know exactly where the camera is pointing ? In the vast majority of cases, you won't need to make any lighting/contrast adjustments at least for the initial views and test to confirm its working. When warming the system up, leave the Camera in the "ASS" Mode. If you are not getting a good clear picture within a few minutes (during daytime !) and without making any adjustments, then yes .. you have a problem.
  18. I have joined a friend of mine on your server a few times over the last week or so. I have been experiencing an odd but extremely annoying issue with TeamSpeak 3 while in your server (although I do not believe it is server-specific). But I am hoping someone might be able to help me understand what is happening and/or how to resolve the issue. TS usually starts out working just dandy but then all of a sudden I start getting a repeated verbal message saying ERROR (over and over and over again, every few seconds). Looking at the chat screen in TS, the Error Message reads as follows: Action currently not possible due to spam protection. Please wait a few seconds and try again. I have no idea what is going on and thus no idea how to correct it. PS> It is probably important to note that I also have UniversRadio installed, although I have tried to Disable it before connecting. The fact is, I do not often use or need to use UR so I am not opposed to Disabling it or flat out Uninstalling it until I do need it. I have no idea if this is a factor or not. Can anyone offer some suggestions please ?
  19. I think that confirms my point. When hovering from a take-off, "I" trim the cyclic to aft of center (others I know will add a bit of right trim to that) making the hover more stable. Then engage Auto Hover. If not trimmed aft of center (or the cyclic is actually centered) then the Gazelle naturally wants to nose down and move you forward. That's why I'm wondering IF this makes it impossible to hold in auto-hover ? To be honest, I have NO IDEA if that is how it works or if it is supposed to be how it works ?? On the other hand, if what you are experiencing is something that is new since a recent DCS Update(s) then that's another story. In which case, sorry I'm unable to help.
  20. Hi trigen. Can you confirm that you are Trimmed optimally for Hover ? I'm just curious if being trimmed for forward flight might "knock it" out of Hover Mode (so-to-speak).
  21. Oh .. Sorry about that friend. I didn't realize the Manual had not yet been updated to reflect the changes. That's good to know albeit unfortunate news.
  22. Well I have to admit that blowing S__T up is definitely a bonus. It's what I get up in the morning for. LOL
  23. Ya ... I just bit the bullet and pre-purchased it even though I can't really afford it. I already have at least 10 other mods I haven't even sat in yet !! It's an Addiction. I need Help. I need "DCS Addicts Anonymous". or "DCS Pre-Purchaser's Anonymous" !!
  24. Yup. I have pretty much resigned to this reality. Luckily I'm in no hurry. I can load the system on the SSD and take my time with software installation. And I can easily reconnect the current drive (or configure it) to be the C: drive to boot from until I get the SSD to where I need/want it to be. Thanks again everyone.
  25. There are a couple of topic related videos worth watching in the same search results. and Thanks. I'll check out the PDF too.
