  1. Hi River. I apologize for not getting back to you with my VKB settings. The fact is that between DCS's constantly broken modules and updates that do more damage than good along with PolyChops apparent abandonment of the Gazelle (leaving it essentially busted), I just got tired of it. I have flown DCS for 10 years and just got sick of the BS. I didn't spend a ton of money to be their tester. When I buy software, I want and expect it to work, not be a perpetual work-in-progress. As such, I packed it in last June or July 2019. With the exception of 2 - 1hr flights (about 2 months apart) which only pissed me off more, I have not flown or even opened DCS. More recently my PC puked and required a complete re-installation of Win10 (I would have NEVER upgraded to Win10 had it not been for DCS. I had a super stable system with Win7). I have since installed DCS but I haven't bothered with any of the peripheral software, including for my VKB, or Throttles or TrackIR or Peddles etc. I just can't be bothered. Several years of absolute frustration has sucked the desire right out of me so badly that I don't even know that I will EVER go back to DCS let alone any other Flight Sim. So I won't have anything for you re: VKB or anything else ... at least none too soon. I'm apt to just sell everything and cut my losses with DCS module investments. I pay to have fun. Not to be someone's sucker tester for modules that have been in production for YEARS and are still no where near finished. So I'll either find some other exciting Sim or I'll pack it in for good and go back to FPS which I would have NEVER even thought of but had to to fill in a blank I suffered when Jane's stopped producing Flight Sims (Games). I used to live for flying. Now it just contributes to my depression. Who Needs That ?
  2. After having to reinstall Win10, I am also reinstalling a ton of software including DCS World Open-Beta. I just started DCS from my desktop icon. AVG came up asking if DCS could change some weird, long-numeric-name. So I permitted that whatever it was. I know that it's not unusual for most programs to need to access and make changes to computer. Then I Logged In. As soon as I was logged in to DCS World (Open-Beta) GUI all hell broke loose. All the Icons on my screen are flashing with a black, square background behind the icon and as well, the icons are moving back and forth (moving an "icon's width" distance). My cursor was almost uncontrollable and my keyboard was barely responding ... to MUTE for example. I actually had to manually Turn My Speakers OFF to shut down the deafening roar of DCS Intro/GUI music. Only after going into the Audio Options and turning GUI Sounds OFF and closing out the Options did all this freak-out stop. I'm almost afraid to start downloading my modules. I never had any issues installing DCS ANY other time and it was previously on this computer prior to the recent Window re-install. Has anyone else experienced this ? Should I expect anything else before I continue with many hours/days of downloading and installing ?
  3. Since the Update and/or Hot Fix (I don't know which because I flew only after both), first of all, all of my Stick/Hotas settings were all muffed up AND I was unable to successfully IMPORT my Saved Configuration Settings. But the BIG ISSUE is that now I reprogram/set everything the way I like and while it seems fine on the ground, as soon as I get in the air, the settings seem to go all to hell. For example, I have a switch to change Seats between Pilot and CoPilot. It has worked for years. But now as soon as I'm flying it either no longer works OR Pilot Seat switch position moves me to CoPilot and then I can't get back (without using the keyboard) OR instead of switching seats, it starts to Dispense Flares which is on a completely different Hotas Switch (like I've done for Years). My AutoPilot Hotas settings appear to work fine in the Options/Hotas Config thingy, but they don't work at all in the Gazelle (any model) any more. In fact, if the Gazelle was useless before it is Extremely Useless Now ! @PolyChop - Please fix this thing soon.
  4. Thanks for looking into it. I just tried flying again and experienced some of the same issues. I also noticed that the Trim doesn't seem to perform as it did. With the Controls Manager ON I can see that the Trim Hat is having an effect on the CM but it's like I touch it a wee bit in either direction (nose up/down) it flies like it's all or nothing (although it doesn't reflect that in the CM). I'll play with it some more and will try my Throttle (less than a year old) in other Modules before I report any more ... just in case it is my Throttle.
  5. Today is actually the first time I have flown ANYTHING since the most recent Update and the HotFix that followed it. Hoping to jump in the Gazelle (M model) and check out the new fixes (sounds and RWR etc), I discovered that my Hotas was All Screwed Up (again). I'm not sure (or can't now remember) if my Stick/Cyclic was at all affected but my Warthog Throttle Quadrant (aka Collective) is completely mucked up. I was Unable to Import my previous settings and found that things were missing or changed or backasswards. Even after MULTIPLE custom adjustments in the Controls editor, either the controls (on the throttle) weren't recognized or would switch to something completely different when in use. For example, I have always used the same switch to jump between Pilot and CoPilot Seat Positions. I had to reset or reconfigure this switch several times today. Either it would not work at all OR it would Start Dispensing Flares (which is on a completely separate/independent switch/button). So I'd go back into the Control Settings and reprogram them again. Then I'd fly some more and things wouldn't work or would default back to firing flares instead of switching seats OR while using the Collective, I would be bouncing back and forth between seats. WTF is up with that ? Is anyone else having this or similar issues in the Gazelle ? Are you having this or similar issues in Any Other Module including other model of Gazelles (i.e. L, Mistral, Minigun) ?
  6. Hi Ramsay I have only a Single Stick. I use a Hat on my Stick to Slew the Camera and to Recenter the view. I also use a Hat on my Throttle to Zoom In/Out. But then while in the CoPilot's Seat, and done zeroing in on a target OR to Steer a HOT3 Missile while it's in flight, I use my Stick to steer it around objects. But I also use my stick to Fine-Tune the Camera Slew because it works more smoothly and slowly than the Hat. So I use the Hat to quickly scan/slew around looking for stuff and then the Stick to have a more refined movement of the Camera. However, it's important to note that this will not work (or work the same) IF we ever get multi-crew back again. But until then, this is what I have done now for a long time and it works beautifully for me.
  7. Yes. I Gyro-Stablized Camera with or without FLIR.
  8. Thanks for that Rabu. I have to agree that a Mod Manager is probably the best way for files that have to be put in the Main Install Folder. I was thinking this would go into the Saved Games sub. So I guess I'll have to break down and use OVGME. It sucks having to use Mods in the first place. I try to avoid them. But this issue has been present for a very long time. Thanks again for your reply.
  9. Thanks Beamscanner. BUT the reason I was (and apparently still am) asking is because I don't wish to use either of these Mod programs. I would much rather input this mod Manually and therefore must know a destination.
  10. I have had issues in the Maverick/Sidearm Tutorial during which I rarely if ever see the "InRange" indication on the HUD. I am often well within 3 miles without any indication of InRange and even after diving towards the target, I don't get an indication. Yet I know that I'm well within range and end up firing my Maverick anyway which does hit its target providing I haven't already overflown the target. Is it just me or are others having the same issue with the InRange indicator not being seen on the HUD ?
  11. Is it ? I have another question in this Forum that was left many months ago and has yet to be answered or replied to and the issue has yet to be resolved. I posted in Discord while there were two moderators available. Then one of them left. I waited around for a reply and got none. Maybe they have replied by now, I don't know because I don't stay on Discord all day. So whether or not it's polite is a matter of opinion. I haven't been rude but I am getting pissed about being ignored for many months while this module is being ignored.
  12. Still Radio Silence from Polychop in ED Forums I see. It doesn't seem to be any better in their Discord channel either. Then again, I could care less if they actually replied to anyone as long as they were actually doing something, but I haven't seen a single relevant update from PC in well over a year.
  13. Excellent thank you. The fact is I have flown a couple of the training missions and had difficulty getting some of the things to work as described in the tutorials, however I had no idea there were kneeboard files to refer to during the tutorials. Thanks again for the reply.
  14. Hello @baltic_dragon I never knew there were also Kneeboard PDF's as well until recently. But today I tried to download them from the link in your first post and the link doesn't seem to work (or it's not recognized as a legitimate address) ? Are they already visible in the Kneeboard files if we have updated DCS ? eg: Do they come with the DCS Update along with the Mission Files ?
  15. Being able to fly with or without curves etc is a personal thing. It may only rely on one's experience with flying any Sim. On the other hand and vastly more importantly (IMO) is the Hotas you are using. Each Hotas has it's strengths and weaknesses when compared to each other. I have now flown the Gazelle (and all my other Modules) with 2 different Hotas setups. X-55 Rhino + CH Pro Pedals and later and currently with VKB Gunfighter MkII MCG Pro + Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle + CH Pro Pedals. These are COMPLETELY different setups with equally different responses. The VKB is a very sensitive and smooth stick compared to X-55. But it also is completely customizable for different tensions and center/neutral detente or no detente. Never mind what others are doing. You must use what you have and experience what you will to determine whether or not Curves etc are right for your setup and your experience. Maybe you need those settings only while learning and then dampen them down later. Or maybe they will always be needed. Personally, I did some research, including watching a specific video (previously mentioned) to see how the REAL Gazelle works and how much stick deflection there is in the real aircraft under normal use. I "tuned" my stick to reflect that reality and then learned how to fly most effectively. That is what worked for me. It may not work for anyone else. And I'm fine with that. Do whatever you feel is right for your enjoyment. Don't be afraid to experiment to get the most enjoyment. Your setup isn't just like everyone else's setup and so your experience will be different from most others too.
  16. It truly is a bummer that this Campaign can't be made to work in 2.5 (without a giant amount of time and effort). I would certainly pay "the going rate" for this campaign if it were available. But I can truly appreciate the headache it would be not only to revise it to work in current DCS Builds but to maintain it while DCS continues to tweak things. Oh Well ... sigh !
  17. That sounds painful.
  18. @gillesdrone Thank you kindly for your consideration regarding this matter. Unfortunately, I have and use only 1 joystick. But again, I do appreciate that you have provided a possible solution for those who do have and use 2 sticks. Have a great day.
  19. Don't forget the Viviane shaking wildly and losing ground lock etc too please. All previously reported.
  20. I'm still waiting for a reply Confirming whether the Mod gets put in the Main Installation folder or Saved Games ?
  21. There are several functions that you can program into the Collective such as Camera Slew etc as is the case for the Cyclic. It really depends on what Hotas you have and how many buttons is has to be programmed. But certainly there is more to them than just the Axis'. I hope this helps. PS> If you are trying to fly with one hand only, there are Cyclic Sticks that come in Left Handed and Right Handed versions. Rudder pedals are definitely handy (especially with helicopters).
  22. I can assure you that Dooom's Script certainly DID work really well. I have no idea if it will still work in ME now. It may require some modification. But I flew in MANY Missions created by Dooom in DoW (Dogs of War) server a few years ago. The missions were of the finest quality and the flak was deadly (but could be modified).
  23. Okay. The first thing I did was run a Repair. Problem Resolved. I just don't know why I didn't think to do that in the first place like I have with almost every other update ? Anyway, thanks again. PS> You are welcome to Delete this Thread if it serves no purpose other than to provide inaccurate Bug info.
  24. Thanks for the reply. The fact is, I often run a repair soon after and update, but that is something I didn't do this time. So I think I'll try that first and barring that, I'll do exactly has you have asked. Thanks again. I'll report back asap.
