Hi, when I have heard DCS: Legends, I too expected MiG-21 or F-4 Phantom variant. I believe P-51D is being developed and thrown into DCS current world only because some rich guy from TFC requested it, not that DCS community wished to have it developed and pay for it ;)

UMCv2 seat and Warthog stick extender from metalnwood Reading this thread gave me an idea how to work with extender and UMCv2 seat. On UMCv2 seat your stick base is pitched towards you, this makes joystick to have a tendency to fall on you due to high center of gravity. The only way to fix this and also increase the forces on the stick back again is to build a secondary centering force mechanism. Credit to metalnwood for manufacturing extender for me and agrasyuk for giving me the idea what to do. Once I bend the stick to any maximum direction and release it it comes back to hardware deadzone now, X: 32768 and Y: 32768 - using TARGET Device Analyzer! Pics below: Linked pics are from Facebook so I hope they work.

Aha, a major overhaul of the plane, not likely we will see this happen in collapsing economy. Super Hornet will be happy to hear this.

from RT "The F-35C, also known as the carrier variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (CV JSF), is one of several fifth-generation fighters developed under the JSF program. New documents reveal that the aircraft has a crucial flaw, which could prevent it from ever being able to land on a vessel. A Pentagon Concurrency Quick Look Review (QLR) of November 2011 says that all eight run-in/rolling tests undertaken at NAS Lakehurst in August 2011 to see if the F-35C could catch a wire with the tail hook have failed. The tail hook is meant to catch one of several wires stretched across the deck, after which a special arresting engine kicks in to quickly slow the aircraft down. In the case of the F-35C, the decades-old trick doesn’t work. The tail hook is located too close to the main landing gear, so the springs supporting the arresting cable don’t have enough time to raise it after the wheels run over it for the hook to engage." http://rt.com/news/f-35-design-flaw-917/

When I analyze X and Y axis of Warthog stick with Target Device Analyzer, each time I go back to center compared to previous value I am off by +-~300 max. Do you have the same? Paranoia? Maybe... but it is below 1% of 65536 and that is after a year of beating this machine up and with stick extension.

GTR2 is still the kind of king GTR racing sim to me :)

I have just noticed this function is conflicting with radio switch, there is double mapping in DCS A-10C 1.1.1.0. I have no idea how it works, I suppose it is some sort of "easy convenience"?

*USERNAME*\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Data\MagVar I have noticed that each time we uninstall DCS this folder is left over, along other .lua configuration files in the user directories. However in this particular case, file is 6_2010.bin, it is .bin and weights like ~2MB. Any idea what its purpose is?

I do not mind 20$ for having DCS Ka-50 upgraded to latest DCS engine version. Such engine upgrade is worth these 20$. I do not understand Eagle Dynamics software releases though and the way we must install them. It is so annoying. Why not release a base DCS package that is core engine and allows only to play and observe AIs, and release theaters and flyable aircraft or whatever as add on packages. Release the core engine with an auto-patcher/troubleshooter that keeps tracks of all the file versions and file/folder structure while allowing mods to be selected from separate custom folder tree, while keeping everything simple to one install folder and one UI! Saves us end-users disc space lots of trouble tweaking each DCS sim independently.

You still can have all the classic instruments displayed on this large HD TV:)

That is the plan, and already doing guess-work how to accomplish this. I do not want handles to move, but rather have microswitches or pressure switches inside loops, so if you grab any of them, you will send DirectX-button signal via USB controller. I suppose need help from some uber-Geeks around here to choose the right parts.
-
Please PM me what is your solution. I have been trying to come up with someone but I do not have a degree in engineering. Have you selected what parts you need to purchase, some micro-switches maybe? How will it work?
-
You should not be concerned by this, since seat back angle is not locked by UMCv2 design (whether you choose A-10 parts or F-16 parts), UMCv2 backrest angle is fully customizable by user, even after assembly. I have tried myself 15deg and it would make sense, if I had to stick my head out and look to the sides of RL cockpit and peek down on the ground below. However angling it totally to the back gives better ergonomy for my back and arms. You will try both settings yourself and decide what suits your ergonomy.

Thanks man. I have lost some paintjob because of these stickers, and also while trying to get map glued above my head.. Stickers from cockpits.nl that FLIM suplies are very nicely made, but once you glue them on, if you try to move them, it will rip your paint, arrr. I had to reapply the yellow caution one on same place with extra glue in between. Concerning these parachute containers on US Ebay... Aren't they export-controlled? I am from Poland, I do not think I will be able to purchase decommissioned part of military aircraft and have it shipped here, even if it was scrapped. Unless these are not banned from export. I was already trying to look for it in other countries who fly F-16s, and I know who to ask, and they said - no. I guess best thing to do is to find a replica or old scrapped one somewhere near :<

Thanks FLIM, homepit is ready. Really appreciate it. Photos of my homepit here: https://picasaweb.google.com/shamandgg/FlightsimCornerStage1?authkey=Gv1sRgCNuDmseJ4IGNZw#5664933056499040482

Yes, but it actually works the other-way around then you think it does (assuming from the tone of your post). It does not induce schizophrenia, it has been a biased research, like many others. Same goes to biased researches of how it effects persons intelligence. Many independent studies done within last decade have proven these wrong, and all walking-living examples of legions of regular smokers with their successful lives and careers on very demanding positions. They have been done by dependent studies who's sole purpose was to support current enforced view on this plant for only one reason... so it is not reintroduced not only as medicine, recreational smoke, but most of all as very abundant material that will put chemical industry based on oil out of business. Said my part :D Shaman over & out.

solution for MEINIT problem with LotATC I have a solution for MEINIT problem with LotATC. Here you go - attached files. It is self explanatory. Look into registry file and adjust what's necessary. You do not need even FC2 installed, that's why you have a second file pack, f.e. if you run LotATC from laptop that can't have FC2. LOATC_v3_meinit_pathfix.rar LOFC2_required_files_for_ATC_to_run.rar

I find BF3 finally a worthy replacement of my AAO passion; if they fix the controls. I am unable to assign many buttons, and assigning mouse controls doesn't work at all and I have one of the most popular gaming mices Logitech G9.

If you want your wish to be granted. Do not buy just one copy of EDs products you are insterested in. Buy them all.

CPU upgrade question for A10
Shaman replied to Jimmytime's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Go for 2600K and overclock it. I eat DCS A-10C for breakfast @ 60FPS, at the airport with AI traffic in sight. -
Interested, but TulsA-10 was first to come and first to serve then :)

Hehe, for the seat replica from FLIM ;) ? I want one too :P
