Speaking for myself (as many have said) I see regained performance and an absence of stuttering so, for me, in terms of gameplay I have returned to the halcyon days of pre. the previous 2 patches. No problem associated with the download nor F10 anomalies and none of the issues experienced by some VR players. Many thanks ED.

Although I always advocate choice above most other considerations and a livery manager would be one of those choices I also know that a convoluted alternative does exist and that is simply delete the liveries that you never use and yes, I realise you would have to repeat this irksome task after every download...

  13. This! My flying experience is limited to light aircraft / civilian aircraft. I too was taught to keep my head relative to the plane and not to the horizon and as barrel rolls and aileron rolls are not common practise in light aircraft this makes sense. Given that fighter pilots need extreme SA I imagine head position is closely related to the aircraft dynamic.

I find it curious that given the plethora of posts regarding frame rate drop / stuttering amd significantly poorer overall performance since the last couple of updates that there is nothing specifically in the newsletter regarding this? Is it being covered by the broad brush of "This update will address Aircraft AI, Ground AI, weapons, and terrain optimisations."?
  15. @zbysiek Thank you for all your work and the support time you are investing, it is much appreciated. What baffles me is if this is so successful in reducing storage requirements as well as improving performance (as it seems to be) why oh why hasn't it been incorporated into the main program, at least as an option? Why has there been total silence from the ED team regarding this script? @NineLine ? @BIGNEWY ?
  16. Something more to add to the pot of stutters and maybe this is already known... I created a ST mission, comparatively simple, I deliberately limited the amount of ground units and used statics wherever possible. As I taxied out in the F-16 the new CH47F was triggered to take off from ground hot about 200 metres from the Viper, as soon as it spawned and started to move the stutters started, so badly that I exited and replaced the new Hook with the standard DCS version. Restarted the mission and it was totally smooth.

  20. I think the sound files are encrypted so no, that wouldn't be possible. "2.5.6 brought encryption of all ED-produced sound files"

  22. This is a MOD and has been cited numerous times for causing problems in DCS - in your \Saved Games\DCS folder, rename your \Saved Games\DCS\Mods folder to mods-bak and restart DCS, if everything runs normally (obviously the UH-60 blackhawk mod will not work) then this mod is the culprit.
  23. It was possibly me who asked this question in January last year and it was only driven by a desire to make cinematic videos more engaging. For those who only fly and die it would be totally irrelevant, I get that and as far as ED is concerned there are many, many more pressing issues.

At mission start the TRAIN is set to invisible - as it hits the trigger zone ARMOR 1 & 2 and ARMOR 3 & 4 are activated as is the signal smoke - ARMOR 1 & 2 don't fire on the TRAIN because it is invisible. When the TRAIN passes through WP 1 invisibility is cancelled and ARMOR 1 & 2 fire on the TRAIN Speed does not seem to be able to be varied (other than stopping at a given WP) The VIDEO is in case you don't have the KOLA map Train test.trk Train test.miz
