  1. Woop! Congrats on all the above @Massun92, watching for progress on all those with eagle eyes Come on, buddy. This entitlement does you no credit. You do so much for the community with ITJ and your vids, no need to be like this
  2. Woohoo! Thank you, good luck!
  3. If they've read the thread there's nothing to be confused about: no active development for lack of motivation, followed by a show of support for the devs to boost morale, if not motivation. Go easy gents. The devs haven't ceased to exist and they know where we are. I know all this comes from a good place, but we've no right to a response in a particular timeframe. The point is to offer support, not demand it. Every time we tag them in a post, every question asked, every attempt to engage on our terms not theirs, we may well be making it harder for them. We don't know what's up, but we know where we're at so let's hang tight and continue to enjoy this amazing bit of digital craftsmanship The guys'll be back when they can, and we'll be here for them.
  4. Oh stop it...I like it! Also very much the sort of thing people like AuthentiKit (open-source 3DP replica flight controls for DCS) and their community might be interest in, if you fancied reaching out. Regardless, that's bleddy impressive, please keep us updated
  5. Crucially, for all I get the intented compliment, it would add a ton of work for the creators. Obviously this isn't what they want or need just now. Hence the leaving that comment in the 'tube comment section
  6. Did not have any of this on my bingo card for 2025.
  7. Great post @Devil 505, cool to see those pics all together - proper Pink Team vibes, ready to give the bad guys a properly bad day at the office! Likewise @Tommy528 - important points, well made. Everyone else...well hi, happy Friday, have a good weekend!
  8. Some comments on those vids: "I fly helicopters for a living. The OH-6 mod pulled me back in to DCS because quite frankly, it feels like the real thing." "Love their work." "I am so impressed with the awesome work done on the Cayuse." "I really appreciate what these guys have built and flying that OH-6 online especially in VR with virpil stuff is the best sim experience I've ever had." "I can’t express how impressed I am with the Cayuse." "It's the most challenging mod I've ever tried learning to fly." "...it is a simply incredible module very maneuverable it is versatile it is an incredible mod it is unique." "Love the oh-6" "I love the OH-6...Its such a fun helicopter to fly and the best mod in DCS!" Noice
  9. Lovely post, thank you. Tight on time so just quickly gonna pick up on Not my intention at all, just thinking of ways to demonstrate appreciation None of us know what's up, but the tone and content were familiar to me - in that place I couldn't be motivated by anything, financial or otherwise, but would still appreciate being appreciated. To know that I'd had a positive impact on something I cared about. Sorry, not about me, just to say the Loach guys are absolutely appreciated, and they've had a massively positive impact on something we all care about. So there's no transaction, no change or anything else expected in return, just a chance for us to give back a little after all they've done for us The same applies to Team ITJ too, such an awesome thing y'all are doing! Ta, and woop woop! Will be clogging up your bandwidth ASAP!
  10. Just back in-country after some time away with work, all kinds of excited to try out the update when I get home in the next couple days. Changelog sounds awesome, and looking forward to checking out the public server! @SPOOKY 1-1 you abs 'kin legend you! Too cool! Seeing Tobi's mini-update in the OH-6A thread just now, I wonder if a concerted effort to co-ordinate for a server full of us lot showing off the Loach might be a nice thing for her creators? Not really my wheelhouse - best organised via the server Discord? Bit of a formation flight then split to raise hell?!
  11. F*ck us, we don't matter; nor does a mod for a plane game, really*. @tobi, @Eight Ball look after yourselves, and as I assume you work pretty closely together, look after each other. Heaps of people here right behind you, full of admiration and gratitude for what you've already accomplished. If anyone fancies a chat I'm only a PM away, and I'm sure others are just as close Motivation comes and goes, its focus shifts and shifts back, enjoyment can be found in all sorts of places at all sorts of times. Keep looking, keep enjoying Per ardua...! *Although when that mod is de facto the most accurate and immersive public whirlybird sim ever in any platform, it kinda is a big deal
  12. As things stand, dead keen for anything RAF post-1945. Would love a Bucc, low level queen; or a Venom, the Sabre-killer par excellence; or even a Meteor, to have a go with the Aussies in Korea. Hunter obvs; likewise an actual Harrier. Canberra goes without saying, Nimrods had an interesting role/system set and one hell of a service life, and who wouldn't want a go at the controls of TSR- Oh, sorry lads, dunno what just came over me. As you were
  13. Just for a little reality check, I know you guys have seen @Massun92's in-progress Huey cockpit revamp but it's a useful reminder. A talented modder (well able to speak for himself so hopefully he'll swing by), even so it's a huge job. When I floated the idea of 'backdating' the commercial modules for the Herc and Wokka to give them C-130H and CH-47D cockpits (thinking this would be fairly low-hanging fruit, and a good way to encourage someone else to work on an updated FM, another person to look at the exterior etc), it was made clear by several that, although the idea had a lot of support, there really is no low-hanging fruit in DCS modding. Not to rain on anyone's parade, we just need to be sympathetic with our requests. The impression I get is that it's often harder to start with someone else's old work than it is to start fresh. If I were ED at this point I'd take a look at Il2:1946, start charging $10 on Steam for the base game and release a proper SDK for modders...but we're a long way from that yet. In the meantime, Per Ardua ad As Littlebird!
  14. Cheers for those @Devil 505, those look really useful guides. Away from home with work for a while, but looking forward to reading repsonses when the new version drops and to getting stuck in myself ASAP
  15. Good for you, and good luck! FWIW, having been a not-totally-useless cadet a trio of minor medical issues sent me to the back of the queue and ultimately cost me a place. I was upset, but it didn't kill me and I went on to find a career at sea which offered many of the same things I wanted...and now I fly gliders for fun instead! It's a funny old world but it's full of all sorts of goodies you only learn about along the way, and you get out what you put it. All the best, do let us know how you're getting on Well now, that is interesting!
  16. @Herasteane thanks for sharing, had literally never occured to me to ripple on the run* like that! *Ripple on the Run? Now there was a band etc etc etc
  17. Just re-downloaded the SK60, v1.2.2, wondering if it would make a fun stand-in for the A-37 Dragonfly... ...with an eye to using it in @Mistermann and @Devil5O5's excellent Viet-Guam playground Into the Jungle, to provide a capability in between the OV-10 and A-4E. First up, props to the BAAS team - it's at least as gorgeous as I remember, with some really lovely touches. The GPS remains a very impressive little gizmo, but more importantly the sounds and lighting are wonderful. It's a real testament to the about of effort and care that went into the mod. It's great to chuck round the sky, and whilst I didn't have time to get into weapons testing from memory they're good fun and surprisingly effective. Obviously there's a but ...But... Straight up, DCS sees it as 'v2.0.5-alpha1', as shown on the module selector UI at the bottom of the main screen. I know this can just be a typo issue, but can also be a warning for bigger problems. Loading into @Rudel_chw's training missions, now included in the base download which is a great idea, on the first two show (startup/takeoff and approach/landing/shutdown). I assume this is because the weapons training missions require the Weapons Range mod, and so have not been included? No biggy, just to make sure I've not missed something. Like others have mentioned, nearly all externall animations are absent. Flaps show as advertised, but otherwise all control surfaces and airbrakes are U/S. Contrary to at least one other user, above, the nosewheel steering is animated. Like others, I'm also having issues with key/hotas binds. This seems hit-and-miss; fuel, starter and throttle idle switches all bindable, but things like the battery and inverter switches, or external light switches are clickable only. Is this a programming thing where those switches have not been assigned to a key, and so cannot be bound? The default keyboard buttons appear to do nothing. Then there are some tricksy ones like the nosewheel steering selector, which has a default keybind (S) but which I cannot reassign to a controller button or switch. I haven't spent ages playing with this yet, but would be keen to hear of any useful avenues to investigate. Anything else I should be aware of? Again, no skin off BAAS' nose - they've done a great job to get this far, to be able to have this amazing community aircraft for free is just nuts, and it's entirely understandable that life priorities change over the years it takes to develop and support a mod aircraft. Just a bit of a shame that this little beauty got so close to greatness, but is just a couple of QoL tweaks away from being something really special. I wonder if it would make a good first/interim project for another mod group...?
  18. YES! Source (an interesting read for Jag fans) Super excited to follow the development of this, good luck
  19. Sounds awesome Woke up this morning with a bit of a thought: Hmmm... Obvs quite a few differences, but crucially the view from the cockpit would be very similar, armament is sympathetic to a Vietnam setting, and I think the SK-60 could wear an A-37 paintjob pretty well. Downloading now for testing!
  20. Loved both the latest vids gents, and the new developments sound (and look) awesome. Looking forward to it
  21. Just popping this here for safekeeping
  22. Can confirm: Finally been able to sink a good chunk into I2J, with a couple hours in the Bronco followed by an hour or so in the Cayuse to ferry all my downed pilots back to the MASH. Had a blast, as ever. A couple slowdowns, first time I've had more than one in a session, one apparently engaging an infantry unit* the other against a Ural-4320. Changes in v2.006 have improved this massively, as previously reported, and it's far from a showstopper. Quite apart from anything it enforces using decent RoE and breaking away nice and early on those first passes! Otherwise performance was in line with expectations for the Marianas across the board. *Rocket attack into the centre of the group on the island off the South-Western tip of the AO, so fully expect splash damage on the vehicles, as per @Porkbrain's findings re Ural-375s. Tooling round in the Bronco at 5,000' as the sun comes up is such a different experience from being down in the weeds with the Cayuse, and the FARPS etc look absolutely brilliant from up there too. As you can see above, as I was waiting for repair/rearm/refuel I had a little explore. Looks pretty good up close too! As ever, the following aren't even suggestions let alone gripes, just things which occured to me: some AI air traffic would add a lot. Because of the size of the AO, just a (eg) single chopper lapping the Farps and a single Bronco shuttling between Orote and Andersen would have an impact on pretty much every spawn. Dunno if the AI can actually hack those landings, but given what the BUFFs add to Andersen it'd be cool to see a bit of that elsewhere. isn't the Kiowa static purdy! Dread to think what all those tie-downs are doing to my FPS, but looks 'kin awesome! civilian villages/groups would give the recce guys some actual recce'ing to do, open up 'danger close' situations etc It's perhaps too easy to spot a group in the distance and just roll in and start planting freedom seeds from miles out. Having a mix of hostile/civilian would encourage getting up close and personal to see what's occuring, increasing risk, surprise and the likelihood of going home with a good story (and some extra ventilation holes). There's still Alpha/Bunker hills if you wanna get all Rolling Thunder about it. are listenable radio stations a thing via the Mission Editor? just gonna leave this here*. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/S00675 No reason... *Seems well within their fair-use policy, and useful in ways a Youtube vid etc might not be. Again, just a thought from a SP perspective. I appreciate that's not what, or who, the mission is for Thanks for a cracking time to all involved, looking forward to seeing what the mission has to offer a Skyhawk next time...
  23. Just tripped over one of those TheY'Re eAtInG thE doGs ThE LaNcAsTeR wAs RuBbIsH! posts on Youtube, so came here to recuperate whilst I pop the kettle on... ...ah, that's better. Carry on
  24. Not taken harshly, and agreed with all We're keen y'all keep having fun too - it's a kind of trickle-down economics which actually works! Knee-jerk Thought 2: have any of us with these temporary stutters when a specific unit is engaged tried running an AI attack on the same group/unit? Not that I'm thinking about a FAC script or anything...
