  1. Never did order it. It looked a little too small. I really wanted a little larger piece of hardware to grab ahold of. Plus, it looked like you had to pull the lever out each time before you moved it up or down. Surprised there are not more hardware options out there for landing gear operation. I'll keep looking and post back if I find anything else.
  2. Looks like you cannot pan around while the Comms menu is still open. Saw another post with a similar issue. Appears to be a DCS default setting, rather than a bug. When I close the Comms menu, external F2 view adjustments are back to normal. Problem solved.
  3. I have the same problem. Did a repair work?
  4. Just started having a problem with controlling the exterior view positions (F2, F4, F11, etc.) with my mouse after the Communication menu gets activated. Everything seems to work fine until I make a radio call, then the mouse becomes inop for external view control. Running the current Stable version of DCS. Any ideas?
  5. Can we be sure that image has not been Photoshopped? The reason I ask is that there is a lot of exhaust heat blur that is really distorting the lower part of the background tree foilage. Yet the lower part of the drag chute, that is in that same heat blur area, does not appear to exhibit any heat blur distortion.
  6. I am well aware of the reticle relationships. I am just commenting that the visual perspective in that image (assuming that the reticle was not in the screenshot} does not look like the plane is 10,330-ft (1.96 miles) away. Perhaps it has something to do with the way the screenshot is rendered in DCS. Regardless, just a personal visual perspective from my eyes. Hope the OP got his issue sorted out with your detailed response.
  7. Sure doesn't look nearly 2 miles away to me.
  8. Plus, as I am sure that you have noticed, the visual distance on your gunsight image is definitely not 10,330-ft from you to the Su24. At that range, the Su24 would look way smaller.
  9. Has any work been done yet on towering Cumulonimbus clouds?

  11. Just found this on Etsy, USB plug & play. This might do the trick.
  12. Has anyone discovered a commercially available landing gear lever/handle module that is USB plug & play with DCS?
  13. Thanks. Saved the track, but cannot find an app that will play it. Is it supposed to be viewed within DCS? Never mind, I found the track player in DCS. Works great, thanks again.
  14. I am trying to make some F-16 external landing videos with a camera (F11) set at the runway thresh-hold. However, I need to stay in the F1 cockpit view so I can still fly the airplane during the landing. Is it possible to have an external camera (F11) recording a movie while you are in the F1 view?
  15. Just guessing here, but true airspeed might be based on the heading of the nose of your plane through the air mass, while ground speed is based on your track across the ground. So, if you have a crosswind component, those 2 directions will be different.

Yep, that is correct. I flew the F-100 in Vietnam and we used the same explosive charges to punch the bombs off our wing racks.
  17. Wonder why they quit making the TrackClip Pro? They have been out of stock for a long time. Would be nice to have a wireless TrackClip Pro so as to get off a wired leash. That is what I have been waiting for.

  19. Discussion here:
  20. First assignment out of pilot training was the F-111 in 1968. Unfortunately, they were putting new pilot grads in the right seat at that time. I was in the 427th TFS at Nellis from June 1968 to about March 1969, then got an F-100 slot at Luke, then on to Vietnam. Some pictures attached of the F-111 that I took while flying out of Nellis. The snow-covered mountain views were taken while we were flying over the Great Salt Lake in Utah. The TFR was an amazing system, but it still had some bugs when I was there. We did once hit Mach 1.1 at 200-ft AGL (accidently), coming out of the clouds down the backside of a mountain.
  21. +1 for better Nevada night lighting
  22. I have a car seat mounted on top of a plywood box. I mounted two 50-watt AuraSound transducers (bass shakers) on the bottom side of the top panel of the box. The vibrations made it through the wood and seat padding so that I can feel them while sitting in the seat. Very worthwhile addition to the flight sim experience. I use a Dayton Audio 200 watt amplifier to drive the bass shakers. Pictures attached. Sorry I cannot get the the pictures to appear in correct chronological order, but you should get the idea.
  23. Same here with the F5. TACAN seems to be frequently unreliable, or unresponsive, for Nellis.
