Tobii 5 headtracker not working after update 20240711
YSIAD_RIP replied to Blowbob68's topic in Input Devices
Tobii 5 is not working for me with the New Launcher Selected either. Not a problem. I disabled it and will continue to use Skatezilla's GUI Launcher -

RKAPPS: DCRealistic Video Showcase
YSIAD_RIP replied to TFS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The DCRealistic and SimHaptic Programs from rKApps is certainly worth a free look while some of us wait for the next big DCS Patch. Looks like rKApps have been doing a lot of updates to DCRealistic via Public Beta that is addressing and correcting the early performance issues. https://rkappsus.wixsite.com/rkapps/forum/dcrealistic/v1-0-2-public-beta-performance-improvements -
RKAPPS: DCRealistic Video Showcase
YSIAD_RIP replied to TFS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Testing DCRealistic now. So far I have noticed Frametime Spikes and Micro Stutter when DCRealistic is running. I have done all the troubleshooting that I could and have left some information for rKApps on their Forum. -

Definitely worth a try with the 7 day free demo. I have used FSrealistic in the past and enjoy the highly customized tweeking you can do for each module. -
From my experience in corporate disaster recovery and problem solveing: Always have a Solution/Plan A, Plan B and a Plan C. Checking out the Eagle Dynamics Downloads > User files, I see @Quartermaster has released several Remastered Cockpits for 2024. Celebration of 10th years producing DCS Mods. This may be a good time to check them out and refresh/revisit some of the older modules. Cheers.

I love ED and I Love EA because of the discounts. During the last CH-47 delay I ordered this stick extension from my Winwing and will try some stiffer springs too. https://qr4rigs.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=172 I can wait another month or two for the CH-47 When the Eagle Dynamics Videos from Wags start to trickle in is when many more will decide to finally make their purchase.

Thanks for the fresh historical skins for the MB-339 @6S.Duke. For an unknown reason I could not get the skins to show up when I Extracted the archive within \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\Aircraft They did all show up when I installed the skins in: \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\MB-339A\ \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\MB-339APAN\

DCS: P-51D Mustang Complete Gray Cockpit Mod
YSIAD_RIP replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Got sick of the DCS green cockpit default - Just installed this and it is a nice change. Thanks! -

Nice Guide indeed! Thanks - The Guide is especially useful for those just getting into DCS or for someone that has been away for a while. Re: Head Tracking There are so many excellent choices now depending on budget and preference. It is really hard for anyone to go wrong as long as they do their own research and ask around. I got my TrackIR 5 back in 2011. It is still working and I even "fixed/reinforced" the TrackClip Pro with epoxy to address the poorly designed fragile system. Tobii Eye Tracker 5 is so much better now then it was when it first came out. For anyone who has a Tobii Eye Tracker 5 they really should try the Beta Camera Boost feature if they have not done so already. It does help solve some of the lag and movement issues that I hated in the beginning.

Interesting: Early Access Launch Features .. Basic trim system and AI helper. After Early Access Launch Features DAFCS trim system and force trim. Looks like DAFCS is not making it on Day 1. Should be fun to see how "Good" the Basic trim System and AI helper are. Seeing that DAFCS is first on the list for After Early Access Launch I am going to assume that it is ( OR SHOULD BE ) the highest priority for future updates after July 3rd.

I am almost ready to pull the trigger on the CH-47. The presale price of $48.99 works for me! Waiting for @Wags (or anyone at ED) to release a video or three showing off the flight model and everything else that makes the CH-47 stand apart from other rotary-wing modules in DCS. Good Luck ED, Cheers.

Since this is a new install of Windows you probably need to install more wonderful Microsoft middleware. The thread below looks like the same error you had. Cheers

RE: getting the OH-58 to provide some input with SSA - has anyone tried Andre's little mod mentioned a few pages back? I did not buy the OH-58. When the F-4E came out, the tool provided some output until SSA was fully updated. Cheers -
Feedback Thread - F-4E Phantom II Release Hotfix, June 5th 2024
YSIAD_RIP replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Wow... What an update. I look forward to testing out the new key binds and the cockpit illuminate fix. Appreciate the updates and it was a good idea to use a new thread for comments after today's patch. -
First ever DCS: F-4E Phantom II Feedback Thread - May 22nd 2024
YSIAD_RIP replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
I view any well made DCS module, like the F14 and F-4E, as digital works of art. The F14 always felt and reminded me of the old Toronto TTC Buses of the 1980's with the noises of the windows and suspension shaking and rattling along every bump in the road. F14 also feels like a WWII Warbird on Super Captain America type Steroids with way to many Covid-19 boosters.. "Thanks Fauci-Pfizer" The F-4E is more tame, quiet and just looks and feels like a very efficiently coded, visually upgraded, technological upgrade with little hit on FPS. Hurray for Multithreading and I even saw some reference to Vulkan in the F-4E Files as well. Looking forward to "years from now" when the F14 should get some similar makeovers -- No real rush at all! Many of my DCS purchases are based on experience with the planes as toys or models in my childhood - so there is that nostalgic aspect to it all as well. Cheers. -
The brilliant engineers that designed the systems are likely all in their late 80's and or well into their 90's or already in Heaven. Test the Trim while in slow flight and you will see that the simulated bellows effect with air moving over the surface of the elevators is more of what you would expect. The Coding of this Heatblur Phantom 2 by is on another level of detail that I would not have ever thought of. The only way to get a better feel for what they have done is to have a Force Feedback stick.. I enjoy my Win Wing Orion 2 but Force Feedback is the way of the future. Cheers

Community A-4E-C v2.3 (May 2025)
YSIAD_RIP replied to plusnine's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
This is such an amazing MODULE! I Finally got around to binding the AFCS to my Throttle Switches. Works GREAT. Looking forward to the next update. -
Another Solution and or temporary workaround is to include some new * slow * keybindings for Trim that is 0.25 instead of 1. I am using @Quaggles excellent DCS Input Command Injector Mod. The default.lua would go here: \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\InputCommands\F-4E\Input\F-4E-Pilot\keyboard For example the keybinds to use and default.lua file would look like this: return { keyCommands = { { name = _('Trim - Nose Up (Hat Aft) * Slow'), up = iCommandPlaneTrimPitch, pressed = iCommandPlaneTrimPitch, value_up = 0, value_pressed = 0.25, category = { categories.flight_controls, categories.stick } }, { name = _('Trim - Nose Down (Hat Forward) * Slow'), up = iCommandPlaneTrimPitch, pressed = iCommandPlaneTrimPitch, value_up = 0, value_pressed = -0.25, category = { categories.flight_controls, categories.stick } }, { name = _('Trim - Left Wing Down (Hat Left) * Slow'), up = iCommandPlaneTrimRoll, pressed = iCommandPlaneTrimRoll, value_up = 0, value_pressed = -0.25, category = { categories.flight_controls, categories.stick } }, { name = _('Trim - Right Wing Down (Hat Right) * Slow'), up = iCommandPlaneTrimRoll, pressed = iCommandPlaneTrimRoll, value_up = 0, value_pressed = 0.25, category = { categories.flight_controls, categories.stick } }, } } After testing, the best way to get the Phantom in level flight is still by using AFCS -Autopilot and ALT Hold. Using the new keybinds for * Slow Trim it is much easier to trim out at + - 500 ft/min vs well over 1000 ft/min using default keybinds. For me all is good and I would expect that Heatblur has more important things to update and tweek before they get to Trim. Cheers. default.lua
