Hopefully it should detect another monitor that you can force on using vga. You can then extend your desktop onto the new monitor. I haven't fully tested this method but I got it working on both my main desktop computer and laptop (both using an AMD graphics card). I was then able to set a-10c and iControl to use the extra space with a bit of trial and error. Hi All, I just can't get this virtual display to work for my Nvidia GTX 680 card. I had no problem getting the virtual display working with my ATI card before I upgraded my PC. I have installed tightVNC and the demoForge driver wich seem to be working, but when I click the "Detect" button under the screen resolution, nothing at all happens. Just my main monitor is identified with no changes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've spent most of the morning trying to find a solution. -
I'd vote for more DCS Anything (as long as it is kept to the existing DCS standard. Just can't go back to the Flaming Cliffs level anymore). However, priority (which DCS item should come next) is a completely different question.

Hi Machinegun, Do you mean that you can't map the landing light/ taxi light switch to a controller, or do you mean it doesn't switch when you click on it with the mouse in the cockpit?

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] Black Cockpit Mod
Phantom453 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi Devrim, Love the black cockpit. Great job!! thanks for your efforts and the share. -
I received the following additional bid of guidance from cichlidfan, which, with the directions above, solved this problem for me. "Before I assign any controls in DCS, I ALWAYS clear all buttons and axis settings, using the Clear Category button. Note that even if your category is set to all, that will not clear your axis settings so you will have to do it again for each axis column as well." Help from cichlidfan and others above is greatly appreciated.

Can you expand a bit on this please Mastiff??
-
Hi cichlidfan, I tried what you suggested above but it didn't seem to work for me. The enclose screenshot shows the default Mi8 key binding screen for me. As you can see, certain ones still cannot be assigned - NVG and the open close windows/ doors in this instance. There is currently no Mi-8mt folder in my Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\ folder. Hence this must be the default. It is also the latest one as the ne command "B" release bomb is there and I haven't changed anything. Anyone - any ideas??

Who wants a click-able radio menu ?
Phantom453 replied to PeterP's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
With a fully clickable cockpit for the full blown DCS modules, I never could understand why we didn't have a clickable radio menu as well. It should be a DCS default feature IMHO. Having said that, I've always been a fan of PeterP's work, especially the clickable radio menu and was quite disappointed when it became broken. I'm really happy he has stepped up once again to fill this void. I don't like the Function key radio menu at all. HOTAS and mouse should be enough. Thanks PeterP -
Welcome to the forums skendzie You can't issue orders to your crew just yet in the UH-1. Hopefully this will be a feature in the final release. Nor will your crew engage target on their own or take evasive action (yet). You can issue orders to your wingman via the radio menu. This is normally done on the UHF radio within the same flight.

Yeah, I noticed those taxi lines looked a bit odd. However, the level of airfield equipment detail looks great though. All those fire carts, power units, tow motors, access stands, civilian cars etc, Even air conditioning units and ducting on the buildings (I'm sure they're needed in Nevada!! ;) )

Thanks MadCat, Looks like I'll have to go down the path you have suggested. I was hoping there would have been a method which didn't require me re-mapping my whole controller/s
-
Enclosed screenshot shows the problem I am having. As you can see, for the lighter shaded areas (like NVG in this instance) I can not select the corresponding box for the controller I want to map the function to - only the whole line. This only occurs for the lighter shaded boxes, the darker ones I can map as normal.

I notice that I can not seem to map a range of keyboard commands to HOTAS buttons at the moment, the ones you can not map appear lighter than those you can on the keyboard assignment mapping table (night vision goggles for example). Is this just a reflection of the beta state of the MI-8 at the moment, or do I have an issue with my keyboard and joystick lua files? Is anyone else having this issue? I couldn't find any posts about it? Is there a fix for this? Thanks for any advice.

Very excited by the whole project and look forward to offering my support via the kick-starter, once we have the details. I'm really unsure about the separate installations and don't like the sound of it one bit so far from the last 30 odd pages. I really like the one World/ one sandbox approach for all content. I'm not one for playing Final Countdown (a.k.a. F14's shooting down Zeros), however the options should be there in a one stop shop called DCSW. It should also be there for DCS Middle East 48, 56, 73; Korea 50-53, 2016; Vietnam; WW1; Western Desert 40-43 ... whatever. Let the mission/ campaign designers determine what aircraft and content are present. Apply content filters and naming conventions where necessary. Two installs will eventually become three installs ... which will require more work to maintain compatibility, which I doubt will work in the long term. Just my $0.02 worth. All the very best for the project.

+1 That sums it up for me too. I just hope there is an option for English labels for that forest of switches!! Old dogs and new tricks .........

How do I deactivate to install on another computer?
Phantom453 replied to Dudester22's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Launch DCSW Multiplayer while holding down the Shift key. This will bring up the Module Activation window. Third paragraph down there is a link to deactivate your modules. They cycle through one at a time to deactivate (although last time I did this I had trouble with BS2). -
From their Facebook page - just posted: "DCS product announcement. I have the great pleasure in announcing that our very first DCS release will be the Northrop Grumman T-38C Talon! Thanks to superb resources provided by contacts in the USAF and The Fighter Collection, we have everything we need to create an effective, in depth and diverse simulation of the United States Air Force's primary fast jet trainer! If you feel you have something you can bring to the team to help us make the very best simulation of the T-38C, please let us know via the contact us tab at the top of this page. We are both excited and full of energy for this new development!! We will of course have more news for you all as development progresses."

Response time to my last ticket was just over six months. However, given I recently got a response to an old ticket, you might find they are actioning tickets now. If not, I'm sure people on the forums will be able to help you - especially the Mods or the Testers. My problem was fixed by them within minutes after waiting several days for a ticket response.

In the near term I'm really looking forward to the improvements in the ATC system 1.2.5 will bring and beyond. Longer term Edge and new maps are my number one wish. Just on weekly updates and the whole way ED is now approaching communication with their customers - it is just outstanding IMO!! I would say we have seen quite a big change over the last six month in the way they approach this. - Discussing the roadmap for the way they are taking DCS, - More frequent newsletters, - Weekly updates, - Constant engagement on the forums, - Social media (although I don't personally go there), - Keeping people informed when things occasionally go wrong and fixing it quickly (e.g. the recent patch) - Change logs and planned release windows for future updates. - Even the ticket system for reporting faults is back up and working o nthr main ED website!! There are probably other things I have missed giving credit for in relation to this. However, I'm sure we all appreciate this effort and the improvement it brings to the community. I just wanted to say thank you for this ED - we do notice.
-
+1 Yep, I'd love to see that, and hopefully we will once EDGE is sorted. We have been stuck on this (now dated) map for a looooong time. I still like it when you are up high, but down low it really shows its age.

I had a much closer look at this over the weekend - I was wrong :music_whistling: I think it was just the way it looks when you switch it.
