I have to agree with that.

I'm running stock with nothing over-clocked. I REALLY don't want to go down the path of a fresh windows install. Any other ideas?? Settings?? Thanks.

Hi All, I'm having nothing but constant crashes too since the last update. Something I have never had with and version of DCS until now. I have yet to complete a single mission without a crash (since the final update). I have done a complete uninstall (including saved games & DCS directory). No problems with the reinstall, but still constant crashing??? My crashes occur as either: Windows "DCS has stopped responding message" Blue Screen of Death followed by memory dump PC locks then does a complete reboot. I am having no issues with Windows or any other applications. I have flown for as long as 10 minutes before a crash, but more often than not it crashes after a few minutes. My crash logs are showing violation errors - similar to BIGNEWY). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply Boarder.

New user - which aircraft would you buy?
Phantom453 replied to Horrgakx's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
So many different opinions (understandably, as we all have our own favourites). Imagine this discussion when all those 3rd party aircraft are in the mix too. -
Yeah, the tanker can move quite a bit faster than an A-10C, and in real life, part of the job of a tanker pilot is to match speeds for the airframe that is being refueled. The KC-135 pilot has tables that he will dig out to find what speeds are supposed to be flown for whatever type of aircraft he is going to be fueling. So IRL this really isn't an issue, however in the sim it is modeled incorrectly, so it is up to the mission editor to assign the right speeds to the KC-135. What is the ideal speed for the A-10C to conduct AAR??

...and there is also the old "dual cockpit" chestnut to crack with the Apache (and other much wanted aircraft).

Click- and Customizable Radio Menu for DCS World
Phantom453 replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Peter - You are a legend!!! Just outstanding work and thank you so much for your efforts and for sharing this. Rep inbound. This is the one thing that was bugging me the most about using DCS World. Have been testing your mod and all seems fine so far. A bit more testing to do. Just one question. I use to have my HOTAS radio switch “Up” command assigned to F12 (in DCS A10-C) to exit the radio menu. Is it possible to do this for your DCS World mod? Thanks!! -
Is that it?? Got to love the detail of this sim Thanks for the heads up!!

Remove Start of Mission Zoom Effect + Track IR
Phantom453 replied to docfu's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Feature? I just thought it was a bug (Track IR related). It does bug me a tad, but nothing I'll lose sleep over. I'd be interested to have the benefits explained, as I don't see them myself. -
I have only had this once, but was I was using an Ipad with IControl for the MFD's. I thought this was the problem.

iControl DCS (Another iPad pit)
Phantom453 replied to boarder2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This really use to bug me as well and it would be good to have the buttons to switch screens. However, I have found that if you start your two finger swipr from the very top edge or very bottom edge of the Ipad (A.K.A outside the normal touch area), then the change screen function works quite smoothly. Hope this helps. -
I haven't seen that before, but I do occasionally have trouble with the cloud shadows moving across the ocean surface when you move your view with TrackIR.

Is boom operator better in new DCS world 1.2.0?
Phantom453 replied to hreich's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Definitely you getting better, because I'm still terrible at staying connected in a turn. :( I's pretty sure I have had a "transfer complete" in the latest DCSW - not 100% sure though and I have definitely had the boom operator only say "disconnect" when almost full/ only connected for a short period. -
Strut has enclosed instructions on where to place the files on the download page. Very easy and straightforward. It does indeed work with DCSW A10C. Indeed, it is listed as a DSCW mod from memory, and the istructions on where to put the files are for DCSW A10C.

Radio Problems - Why wont they work?
Phantom453 replied to Ghoullees's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Just on this same theme (Radio menus), to the best of my knowledge/ searching, there is currently no working clickable radio menu for DCSW and also I understand that VAC does not work in DCSW either (something to do with a different structure)? Am I correct on both those points? If someone can point me to a clickable radio menu mod for DCSW or how to set up VAC for DCSW, I would really appreciate it. Pressing the Function keys all over again is a real pain. -
I'm still a little surprised (but also very happy) that the Harrier will be amongst the first of your DCSW aircraft. The reason I say that is I assume the Harrier would have one of the most complex flight models given the whole VTOL aspect, therefore one of the most difficult aircrafts to model within DCSW with a highly accurate flight model? Latest pics look really good!
-
I'm sure Thrustmaster will come up with something for $500.00 to fill that gap. :smilewink:
-
Yep, pretty much it from what I remember too.
-
Kuky, you are a legend mate!! Well done and thanks. However, ED/ Wags - can you please note PeterP's comments so we can get a clickable radio menu back. Using the Function keys again is a real pain. I was hoping this (a clickable radio menu) is something DCS would have by now in the standard build. Thanks :(
-
Thanks for the straight answers and frequent updates Prowler. Much appreciated!! I love the way this seems to be coming together. Your plans/ aircraft, when realised, will really add to the DCS community!! I’m also glad to hear the target it a DCS level of detail and functionality in your aircraft. I hope this proves to be the required standard for all Third Party projects and that there is a gate keeper in place to ensure nothing sub-standard slips through. It would be a shame to slide backwards from the excellent sim we have now.

Yep - have to agree. Looking forward to it.
