    Air refueling

I think, he means the increasing tanker speed after the probe is released. Besides that, aerial refueling is working fine. The radio comms, as well. We set the tanker at 19.000 feet with 440 kts in the mission editor, which are 325 KIAS ingame. So, the speed increase is only about 25 to 35 knots.
  2. Hi, is it possible, to change the radio frequencies (Tower in this case) in the NTTR map to the real ones? Maybe, via editing a lua file in the .miz zip? Attached a screenshot with the real frequencies for Nellis Tower and the currently ingame frequencies. Note: I'm not asking, if ED can do this. Unless they want it, as well. :D I need a workaround for myself. Thanks.
  3. As DArt said, a ground radar that detects ground objects isn't implemented yet. You got a steady BRAA readout of objects for example, from a friendly fighter to a bandit. With the F10 map, you have to use the distance tool every time you hit the F10 button and it doesn't follows these two objects. LotATC hooks those -and more - contacts and the controller have a good picture at all times. It isn't a tool, that is used by the pilot itself, in my opinion. It is a tool for a seperate human controller, that monitors the covered airspace and give pilots valid information to targets and - if skill is available - vector for intercepts. It adds a fantastic experience for the sim, as it makes it more real. Maybe this video helps a little bit to get the picture: Please note, this is an older version from 2014. Today, there are a lot more functions and features. The UniversRadio plugin is one of the best features. With these two programs, you get the human controller only, if you both are on the same frequency (if you wish). ATC means air traffic controller. That's a controller that keeps aircraft away from each other, directs you from one airfield to another and - not military - helps you with your landing, if necesary. For the military side, the GCA (ground controlled approach) controller leads you to the ground, if no VFR conditions are available. GCI means ground controlled intercept. That are the guys, which lead you to other aircraft (so, the opposite of the ATC) and transmit target information. They are also trained, to help you by intercepting bogeys/ bandits.
  5. The GBU-31/10 are not really the weapons of choice to break these bunkers. The GBU-27 "Bunker Buster" should do the job with one weapon. But I don't remember, if we have these in DCS (for F-117A or F-15E).
  6. ... das Update nicht fertig ist. "When it's done." ;)
  7. Thank you very much. Is an integrated push-to-talk planned? I don't like to switch between push-to-talk on/ off in TS3, as I usually don't use it (when not ingame).
  8. Hi tacno, some of our members use the 0.0.2.5 HC version, some others the 0.0.2.5 HD version. The -hd version mixed up the radios in the TS3 plugin. example. Pilot 1: Radio 1 active (V/UHF in use; bold text) Pilot 2: Radio 2 active (V/UHF in use also, bold text) So for the one with the older version, the radios are listed as: Radio 1 - V/UHF Radio 2 - UHF and for users with the latest version, the radios in Teamspeak are listed as: Radio 1 - UHF Radio 2 - V/UHF Is that correct or a bug? The sound on the left/ right is also inverted.
  9. True. In many aspects. :(
  10. It's time, to add some new shots. :)
  11. If it's ok, that the aircraft is "grounded", I'll take this one:
  12. Negativ.
  14. Some corrections. 105° is east, south-east would be 120° up to about 150°, round about. If I want to get ihm, you have to turn a little more to the west, not straight to the north, with a tight azimuth. With 60° azimuth of course not. Depends on your and his heading. He also could be on your nose, or on your 3/9er line. His heading (called tracking) isn't shown at the VTB (at least not at the B/E, but at the screen) and should be called by the AWACS/ GCI controller to intercept him. Just Bullseye. Thanks for the other explanations regarding the Mirage.
  15. There are only a few for native attack helicopters: CAS, anti-tank and striking important targets - if possible - like in ODS. A helicopter would not be used as "strike" asset to "bomb" something, if you meant that. That worked for the russians in Afgahnistan in the 1980s, but not against a regular army.
  16. Hi, in our training, we use LotATC and a human controller for communication between pilots and Tower/ ATC/ AWACS. At the moment, we use the ingame tower frequency. But at night, the runway remains dark, until you contact the ingame ATC/ tower which activates the runway lights. LotATC on its side, has also a chat function, where the controller can chat to ingame players and reverse. Is it possible, that a LotATC controller via this chat function activates the ingame ATC via key commands? Or is there a mod, which translates chat commands into game commands (for example I type "atc" in the chat and it activates #>F8>F1)? Thanks in advance, Fire
  18. You can read some interessting books about the Falklands conflict and Operation Desert Storm to get the idea. In the Falklands, it was used as bomber and fighter (thus, their was no land bases airbase, only british carriers). In ODS, its mission were CAS and BAI (tank blinking with the AGM-65 "Maverick). Use it as a faster version of the A-10C, if you want - with the possibility of vertical landing and very short take-offs. If Razbam brings out the Mirage III, you can fly also very interessting air-to-air missions.
  19. The German Tiger isn't it in any case. :D I saw the Czech Mi-24, U.S. AH-64D and the Tiger at the ILA and talked with the pilots. According to them, the Tiger is very agile, but slower than the Apache/ Longbow. It lacks the rotating gun of the Apache, which reduces flexibility and fast reactions a lot. The Longbow has it's radar, which increases chances of survival and targeting. And the Apache (and Hind of course) proved in some conflicts in the last 30 years.

  21. Sad to hear, saw them last weekend at the ILA in Berlin. :( http://www.airlive.net/breaking-swiss-f-5-fighter-jet-just-crashed-near-leeuwarden-air-base-in-the-netherlands/
  22. Wenn es die Mission zu lässt, kann man damit auch BAI, Time-Sensitive-Target Missions und Anti-Ship (Kanonenboote, Tanker) fliegen. Und natürlich alles, was assymetrische Operationen angeht.
  23. siehe Anmeldedatum. :D
