My wish is that the A-10 stays relevant and required for multiplayer scenarios . With so mich effort on the F-18 Im worried that once it has guided munitions/atflir and if bugs creep into a neglected A-10 platform it could become didficult to participate online. So whatever feaures are required to acheive that!

Try this link to my tac view recording of my run. Hope it helps. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aknk7ypReuhpivtq1sAT_I6t6HKNww -
I cant think of an A-10 system issue that would take evrything out at once. Engines? Aure. Electrical, sure, but moth together indicate a sim issue. One esception before I get to that would be if you arent properly configuring your electrical panel on startup. Check your inverter switch position and ensure your caution panel is clear before takeoff. Sim side, is there any chance your usb device is being lost and refound? I had a usb current overload would cause dropouts if my controller. Maybe in that case the sim os getting signal to drop both engines below detent?

I also roll thr brt down on every flight.

Is the A-10C textures/cockpit/raindrops update still planned?
Puma replied to Gliptal's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
That is super encouraging; but also Ill beleive it when I see it. There is so much work left on the F-18 module. Bugfixes are one thing, thats a commitment any ethical company will support, but rebuilds of any considerable effort that generate no revenue are dangerous plans for aoftware companies. Long live the Hog!! -

Unless ED can come up woth a way to monetize A-10 updates, I would not expect updates. It just doesnt make business sense. Im a huge A-10 fan; built a pit dedicated to it, so I hope Im wrong but I also work in a small tech company and I have to admit what I would do. -
Total guess but is your ifcc in test mode? I noticed a while back the cdu align wont flash until it is, implying there is some connection.

@DavidOC Thats one of the best responses Ive ever seen on these forums. Fascinating and super relevant links. Im fascinated by the depth of the modelling (the whole sum of components part), which honestly makes me even more impressed with DCS. My biggest take away is the one that real world A-10s had variance in their ITT performance. Seems obvious they would, so my initial expectation that a chart worked like a calculator is not right. They provide safe estimates but always have some wiggle room. All evidence seems to indicate the DCS models are well within the wiggle room. Good job all, thanks for the input.

So I bounced this discussion off a pilot friend and he offered a possible explanation. This is just a theory, and Im curious for opinions. Im not trying to make any one or thing look bad; purely academic. Ive been pondering how aircraft engine power could be so predictable, when all other engines I encounter (car lawnmower, etc) exhibit power changes over time. Short term before filter changes etc, and long term overall decline as well. Obviously aircraft are maintained much more frequently and thoroughly than a car, but the principal must still be in play. So that lead to questioning what end of the performance variance the charts capture. For safety, I’m told they capture the guaranteed minimum. So as long as the maintenance schedule is kept, the performance is guaranteed to be at least whatever is shown on the charts. Presumably then real world you often fly with power to spare, which could be use to exceed the charts. It seems very conceivable to me that ED built the flight and performance models to the charts, so we experience the worst possible case not the real world typical peeformance. Thoughts?

I look forward to doing some tests myself vs the A-10a realworld charts. I confess I do not have evidence that the engines are underpowered. This was spmething I read early on and it “felt right” so I havent questioned it since. Sorry about enforcing the rumours!

Im looking to make my mission card building process just a little more realistic, so trying to calculate refusual speeds, etc. To do this, Im using the charts from the A-10A flight manual. However, as we know the dcs A-10 engines are under powered vs real life. Which leads to my question: has anyone encountered adjusted performance charts from actual dcs data?

Sorry thatvdoesnt make sense but still maybe relevant. Maybe the bug is when the offset spans a major grid?
-
Are you sure you have the major grid coordinates right? Caucuses spans 37T and 38T.
-
I used offset mode in a campaign mission a few days ago (latest beta) and it worked so it may be more complicated, ie sometimes works sometimes has you issue.

Good question. I cant think of a way from the pit. F10 menu would do it if you are willing to break from reality. As for procedure, Id encourage you not to rush the rejoin. Take your time and close slowly. Your closure rate should decrease as you get closer tp the tanker. Constant, but small adjustments. Best of luck.

Are you testing in the same mission? I am thinking wind could be your issue. The hud steering cue gives you guidance to fly directly over the point itself but does not care about converging on the to-from line. The tad shows the to-from line but its up to you to fly to it via the tad or the hsi. In your picture if the wind is blowing from the south then I think everything makes sense. If you want to fly on the line you need to steer beyond the steerpoint until your hsi indicates you are near the line, and then turn to the sp.

Are you using the radio F10 menu before wp8 to call clearance to exit the moa? Also just FYI the timing on these missions is toght. I passed many of them even thiugh my last couple kills were after the “plytime over” call. You still gotta move but don’t necessarily give up and do as ordered if you can wrap it up. -
Couple questions just out of curiosity: Are electrical fuses modeled in the a-10c? If so, From experience, has anyone encountered a reason to use them? Ive got some hours accumulated and never once pulled a fuse.

Glad to hear it. Enjoy the campaign; I loved it.
-
Also which bdt mission is this and Ill check my notes from it.

Are you 100% sure the bullseye at batumi? As I recall in those missions bullseye is up the coast. Thus 030 for 33 may be back to batumi. If you want to find the point 030 for 33 FROM Batumi the. You should be setting Batumi’s waypoint as the offset origin.

No such function. You are correct in theory you could broadcast spi but it would be mucb more effective to use radio to send coordinates.
