one thing to note here is that as a gamer I love my RAID 0 I use symantec exec back up that will back up my entire c:\ drive and do incremental back ups automatically while computer is running. I just ran a chkdsk /f /r and got a CLEAN DISK hell ya not bad for a 3 months install. I do take care of my computer. Anyway dont worry if its dirty minor things can complain. Its usually nothing to worry about M$ says so!! SO raid 1 is great for the lazy people. Ill stick with a raid o and the ability to restore my image to a raid array or a single disk whatever I chose. personally I chose to back up the entire c drive once a month. The paronoid can do that every two weeks with minor back ups twice a week. Protect your files and run chkdsk /f /r sometimes!

I know this might sound totally whacked out but..........try going to the website of whoever made your video card and try using the drivers that they recommend. THEY do recommend you use thier drivers. This goes for motherboard manufactures and chipset drivers too if your having issues.

Been on this for awhile now after droping a tradition of norton antivirus corporate and other versions. NOD32 rocks and can even be found in the bittorrent world. Also you can try it out for 30 days and see you system get faster.

Run chkdsk sometimes. start cmd then type in chkdsk this will tell you if c drive has problems. Sometimes you will see an error about volume bits . This is normal and not really an issue. To be sure your ok right click my computer and then properies and run the check errors util. If no errors there your ok even though chkdsk is talking about some minor issue. Although a few have even ended that with a good defrag. This is true esp with xp service pack 2 and those running a raid array. Again its ok , strait from MS info here. Some sytems will report back clean with sp 2. There is also a minor error that can show up about the MFT. DONT PANIC. Diskeeper can defrag the MFT and make this go away but it was stated by micro money AKA MS again this is not something to worry about. Do not run diskkeeper or anythird party stuff to replace normal maintenance of chkdsk runs. this can dismantle your file system!!! Now from the start. go to command promt and run chkdsk /f /r and say yes to run on next reboot. Do that and do not interupt it. If you find bad sectors do not panic there is a util to run for that that will repair those. Harddisk regenerator is the name of that util. http://www.gold-software.com/download7605.html Its basically is a better checkdisk program to run but can take alnight as it scans everybit of the disk surface. Just remeber the chkdsk /f /r sometimes if anything pops up google for an explanation. This maintenance and defraging is very important is you want a long lasting OS install. My last one lasted about 8 months before I rebuilt it due to a hardware bitch about one of my IDE back up drive, owell 8 months was a long time anyway. BTW Symantec may suck at antivirus anymore but does great with backups. I have been useing Back Up Exec desktop version and it work great. It will back up your partition while the computer is running automatic if you want. Forget XP restore.

The page file comes in somewhere......Just hit ctl alt delete and bring up task manager, play a game and alt tab out. Look how much memory is and was being used. ALOT.

Its called AGP aperture in the Bios. just go into the bios and set it. This setting controls how much system ram can be allocated to AGP for video purposes. This setting is for INTEGRATED AND NON INTEGRATED video motherboards. The aperture is a portion of the pci memory address range dedicated to graphics memory address space. Host cycles that hit the aperture range are forwarded to the AGP without any translation. The option allows for 32 64 128 256 and 512 mb size. Guys this was just talked about in this section a month ago. Just set this to whatever you video card mem is. Forexample if your video card is 256 mb then set apature size to 256. ETC its that easy. I hate to bust the color bubble debate here but on a Canon IR 5800 6800 business color copier the cost to drum and toners is about $.06 a page. 260 pages x .06 = $16.00 Production Canon color copiers could yield even a lower cost for full color copies. Such as the IC 5000. Black and white is about 260 x .005 = $1.00 - paper cost. 500 pieces of good paper costs about $3.00 Would I pay $40.00 for a color one? This cost is from a personal ownership or what it actually costs a shop to print it. A print shop would ofcourse then add labor.

You can contact the manufacture for a restore disk for your make and model. HP charges $20.00 for such a disk. In the future stick with big name manufactures when it comes to laptops , like HP compaq, acer, and dell. STAY AWAY FROM ALL OTHERS. There are other tools like adiea or something like that does the same thing. The op simply needs to contact the manufacture or run manufacture name and model in google and find the drivers that way. Its a crying shame symantec bought out Sygate. NIS now has the best firewall in it but they totally botched the intergration. With large companies screwing up and taking the market share away. I dont know when will see another firewall program on the level Sygate was. Whats even worse most people do not realize they really need to study how a firewall works if they want security, its mandatory now. The Sygate forum is still operational and you can still install and update it to the latest signature BTW. Antivirus?
