  3. Could I ask t BIGNEWY, could I ask, are there any plans at all to have different weather conditions at different parts of the map? Or at the very least different surface winds at different locations on the map? Many Thanks!
  4. Guys, this looks truly outstanding!!! I'm not sure I've been this excited about a new "module". We have a serious lack of little fun helicopters in DCS. Something you can throw around between the trees! Absolutely can't wait. Could I ask, is there a virtual pilot body planned? And with regards to the flight model - is this built from the ground up or is it limited in some way by DCS's code as it's a mod? How close to the real thing would we expect it to handle? Huey being a benchmark in terms of a realistic FM, would this be in the same ballpark? Many Thanks! Please keep up the great work! Can't wait to make some videos with this
  5. I've noticed the tail fins on the mod are wrong geometrically compared to real-life. I thought something looked funny as soon as I downloaded the mod but now after doing some analysis compared to real life it's fairly obvious the fins are just plain wrong. Fin chord at the bottom is too short - needs to extend past the elevons significantly, and it doesn't in the mod, the rudder extension plates in real life taper and stick out significantly more at the bottom in real life, and the tails are too tall (obvious when looking at the distance between the top edge of the rudder and the marked/ painted part of the tail fin. Are the developers aware of these obvious discrepancies?

  7. Hi all, I need some help. I can't seem to launch DCS with the Su-30 (V2.7.3b) mod. As soon as I take it out of the mods folder, DCS boots up fine. I'm using the latest OB multithreading version. Anyone else have this issue?
  8. I'm totally with you on this. Since DCS is missing so many basic units, the game literally wouldn't be the same without some of the quality mods by the community. So it's not entirely true that ED don't benefit financially from "supporting" mods, they do. By attracting a wider audience and more gameplay. However I get that it's difficult to expect them to bug test every patch to see if any mods screw it up. However definitely in their interest to support the modding community, which they generally do and appreciate.

  10. Hi folks, Not gonna lie, I'm raging and kind of upset. Spent countless hours perfecting a mission I built in the Mission Editor (see screenshot attached as a reference) but now after downloading the latest OB patch 2.9.2.49629, after loading the mission the majority of units just don't load/ spawn (they are not set to late activation or anything like that and worked perfectly prior to the latest patch)! They are all still there in the ME but just totally missing in the actual game after loading. This is the case for both some statics and for the majority of AI ground units which are totally missing... my firefight is now, well... not happening as I have no units spawning/ loading upon mission start... I tired re-saving the mission and just moving some of the units about a little bit... but nope, still no units spawning. How bizarre! Never had this issue. Any help appreciated!

  12. 100% dump the current look and rebuild. I'm sorry. It's awful. I think satellite imagery could work super well if done right with complex and detailed terrain mesh like in MSFS, but the way it is now in DCS on the SA map, it's just outrageously bad. So if if you have to have a more synthetic look, that's fine. Anything will be better than what it is now. Given the location, it should be one of, if not the absolute best map for low level flying, and it's the exact opposite. It looks fantastic from 20,000ft, and completely unflyable below 3000ft. The feeling I currently get is similar to the satellite imagery add ons for FS2002. The SA Map is my biggest disappointment in DCS. And I really wished it would be one of my favourite locations. Anyway, I hope you guys make it work in the end. Highly appreciate your efforts. Just thought I'd be honest and up front about my feelings, since you're looking for feedback. Many Thanks! T.

Although I appreciate that PC want to release a full-functioning product out of the box, I'm somewhat bewildered by the total lack of development reports, screenshots, explanations etc. Wouldn't that be a good way of a)letting know the community that the project is very much alive and well, b) keeping people excited and c) generating more interest from more potential buyers in the future? Genuinely a bit confused by the lack of news. This is one of my most-anticipated modules. Looking forward to seeing it at some point
  14. Hi folks, Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but I can't find a Tacview section on the forum. Could someone tell me if it's possible to make Tacview full screen so that the menu bar/ window outline etc at the top is not visible? I could have sworn I did it somehow before but there's no keyboard shortcut for it that I can see so I don't know if I'm imagining things? Many Thanks!
  15. I would actually expand on that slightly and ask that any military installations on the map including all helipads were somehow marked on the map to find them easily.
  16. So the map is expanding south it seems. Any plans to update Khmeimim AB to have the correct location for the S-400 battery and a few other updates to match real world?

Hi all, Can't figure out what is going on - in the F/A-18 I tune into an A/A Tacan (for a tanker) - I box TCN on HSI and I get a bearing to the airborne tacan (tanker) but no distance info and also the TCN symbol will not show the location of the tanker on the HSI. What's going on? I have A/A, T/R, correct frequency... is this a bug? Thanks!
  19. What would be better - 144Hz and G-Sync or 175Hz and no G-Sync? How important is G-Sync in terms of DCS?
  20. Thanks but I see these little jitters without DCS, even just in the Trackir software... it cannot keep my head still despite the fact that I am holding it still. And thanks for the advice. I'll probably go for this OLED monitor
  21. Hi guys, I currently have a 37.5" HP Z38C monitor. It's served me well although originally was never really meant for DCS. I guess it's main drawback is that it's only 60Hz. Since I don't know any better I sort of stuck with it for a while but recently watched a DCS streamer who was over the moon when he upgraded to a monitor with a higher refresh rate. Would that really be noticeable? Also, I don't know if this is the cause but ever since I got this monitor, my Trackir always jitters a bit off center, especially when looking well to the side or down and I can only put it down to the monitor refresh having some sort of incompatibility with Trackir as I've tried everything to resolve this, including buying a totally different Trackir and trackclip pro and have tried every combination of settings. I'm wondering if going to a proper gaming monitor with a high refresh rate will be noticeable? I was looking at the Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED 34". It's smaller than my current monitor which I am not crazy about but seems like a solid choice? Does anyone have any other good suggestions for a decent 4k monitor? Cheers!
