There are switches under pedal feet rests which engage/disengage heading hold. Pedals are rigged in such way that just by putting your feet on pedals will press those switches and disengage heading hold, leaving you just with damper function of yaw AP. IRL, you need only one of those to be pressed to disengage heading hold, in DCS it's on/off only.

I don't think it's a bug. You are applying pressure to TRK and system is just doing as it says. Try to simultaneously release TRK as you engage LMC.

I haven't flown latest patch Apache, but it's funny how many times multiple people have a feeling that something has changed only to be told that we are wrong.

BTW, same thing is going on with Huey and Mi-24, so this is more of DCS wide issue than Mi-8 problem

That would be nice, but with ED core code, you can never be sure it won't break something else (latest slingload bug comes to mind), so it's best to not touch anything

You said you're fairly new to DCS and it shows. It's not that this particular map is somewhat unfinished. It's the whole trend of reducing quality in ED's releases. Stick around long enough and you'll se what I am talking about. Yeah, this map has a huge potential, but I would personally prefer that ED held onto it a bit more and released a more polished product. To me, it seems ED is lately conducting a lot of social experiments to see how low they can go before we really start revolting and stopping cash flow. Luckily, I have Syria map to help me get my fix.

I just hope it won't take 2 years for the fix like it did last time this bug showed up.

It works if that's what you have been asking. It will do a few violent corrections (severity depends on how unstable you are) if you are not in stable hover to get you back above the spot where you have activated att hold and it will be dead steady afterwards.

I should state that my point of view is not influenced by historical connection between regions and events that have happened. I don't really care if something that has happened in certain part of the world is flown in another part, as long as we have at least some similarity of scenery. For me, for heli ops, Syria is the best. Variety of terrains gives you the most regarding mission ideas. Then comes Caucasus for "green" events. Afghanistan has even more potential, but right now ED has a huge amount of work to do before that......I can't really call it a map, is ready to be enjoyed by us.

Videos are starting to show up, so it might be possible to see this in July, but my bet is on mid August.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great find, but I would still prefer ED to work on more important stuff.
