Hi guys, I did notice that the Apache commonly hold a crabbing stance even with 0 wind configured in the editor. Is it normal? I would say that a bit of crabbing should take place when we change direction, but it should correct itself with the air flow after few hundred meters. Am I missing something or it is normal to have the chopper behaving this way even with no wind?

Wow it's bad flying at night . Lights in cockpit too bright . Can't see anything . Lights turned nearly off . With NVGs on . Red lights on . Still anoying lights too bright . Can't see cross hairs . Turned NVGs down really low . Now can't see out . Very bad . Petro won't lock any target with beams of light shining . Head lights or search lights . You can't actually see the targets only beams of light . Tried locking but failed .

Αccording to the public ,youtube video here, compared the real F-16 ramp start sequence and so far DCS F-16 ramp start sequence The SEC LT warning ON when RPM reach 20% and then OFF and ELEC SYS LT-ON WHEN SEC LT become OFF then the throttle from cut off to idle, not before. Can you simulate that realistic process too please kind regards

i dont know if design limitation or bug but i tried to set inboard pylons to smoke rockets, and outer pylons to HE but during the arm/refuel menu, i see a bug or problem in which once i set one type of rocket on a pylon, and then a different type of rocket than the first, the load out will disappear, or at least, it looks like a new empty loadout graphic over / covering the original loadout inventory graphic. in the end, i was not able to mix rocket types, i have to stick with one type of rocket.

I have that huge winwing tarus throttle. It gives a lot off fine control. But even with that on the F16, doing fine controls when AAR etc. it's really hard getting the sweets spot. Either to fast or to slow. The engine responds much slower then the F18 engine.

Posting this here, as it's probably something I'm doing wrong, rather than a bug. Also, apologies up front for the lack of a track file. They are to big in size to upload here. I'm having a problem while in the CPG seat. It seems that the AI pilot occasionally takes over the active sensor. Situation: While using the TADS trying to find targets as a CPG, out of the blue, the acquisition source switches from TADS to PLT and my TADS display seems to reset. Pretty sure it's the AI pilot doing this, because at some point I was attacking a unit and each a nearby SA15 launched an intercept missie, my TADS display instanyly did a reset (resulting in me not being able to keep the laser on target and my missile missing its target) Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I'll try to reproduce later this weekend and post a track file of the issue.

Been this way for a while now, but does anyone know why, when using the WINWING radar elevation axis on the throttle, the "up" zooms in and the "down" zooms out? Maybe this is intended behavior from the real system? Just seems a bit counter intuitive. If you go and invert the axis in the controls menu, it 'fixes' the 'problem,' but then messes up the RDR ELEV logic.

When you tell George to search for targets, he moves the TADS at a constant rate until it lines up with where your helmet sight reticle is pointing. This means you need to keep looking at the target until George is done. If you look away too soon, he'll point the TADS in the wrong direction. This should be changed so that George doesn't try to chase the helmet sight, but instead remembers the direction you were looking in when you pressed the button.

From i understand that in real life is that chaff irl works by reflecting away the radar beams. And that will create a shadow/blind spot for the radar. However i tested this in dcs it does not seem to work that way. My preferred method in dcs is the following 1. LOS 2. Drain the missile from its energy 3. Notch it

Couldn't find this when doing a forum search, but is it normal that when you change contrast on the TPOD, that you see 2 different tints of green symbology? Anyone else seeing this? (if not, I'll have to figure out what's going on here )

When you turn off external lighting on wings, they are still turned on (they flash or light, depends on the setting). Tail and fuselage and brightness works. Is that how it suppose to work? Its just strange, since there is an option to turn them on/off.

Yeh... improved... Looks like that. Cold objects are not textured and standing out way more than hot objects. Terrein clutter makes FLIR useless.

Hi everyone, i'm currelty learning the F-18 and as for now i'm starting to learn about EW. the issue is that when i start form Cold & Dark, i switch on the EW Module, the sound rong, but in flight, when i'm close engough to a threat, such as a SAM or even a plane, the EW doesnt detect a thing. Is there something to modify ? Moreover when i start a in flight mission, everything works well.. I hope you could help me, best regards

Anyone has this problem, the hud display is not centered, as shown in the attached picture. How to fix this? null

Hi guys, I don't understand why i set my THDG on my VRP but the TGT on HUD in incorrect, see my track and mission in attachmen My Setup VIP -> stpt 1 THBG 43* 10nm 70ft elev calculated TGT point is wrong, try on mission editor to point with ruler and cursor. Any ideas? ddd.trk vrpvip.miz

Why does the text on the bottom part of the display on the left MFD always gets cut off??? Is there anyway to fix that? My res is 2560x1440 and 1024 on the cockpit in game! Thanks, Joe

Hi there! Although the weapon is activted, and shows "RDY" (and can be fired in PRE mode), the CNTL page does not open upon pressing the corresponding OBS, nor can I change the offset (marked with the triangle) on the JSAW weapon page. Why is that, or am I doing something wong? Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Before I say anything, I'm a Hornet pilot mainly. Did some testing tonight, at 10,000 ASL, x2 AIM 9s and x2 AIM 7s, 60% internal fuel. It sustained 14.7 degrees per second at around mach 0.8, and around 7G. According to all charts I can find (which, granted, aren't the real charts, but one I used is supposedly BASED on the real charts) it should do just over 13 degrees per second. ED, you don't have to artificially inflate the performance of the jet to sell it. Please, please give us the correct performance. Going by the Viper's real charts it shouldn't be out rated by a Hornet in this scenario.

That's right, my radar can maintain locking targets behind me or through mountains. This was reported before and dismissed as "Unable to Reproduce." But I now have a track view to prove it. I hope this helps! Here is also a screenshot. Notice the yellow Star target is behind me. That is what my radar has locked on. I was also able to see the lock on through my HMD by turning my head 180 degrees and looking at the locked target through the backseat of my headrest. Should not happen. Link to the track - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V3mgYbB8HaEsc9j_Z2QTR4iEIUWVMfRT/view?usp=sharing Issue starts around in game clock - 09:43.

correct as-is HARM pod / HAD display not showing contacts
Hotdawg posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi Team, First of all, thanks for all your hard work, I am a newer player and getting to know the Viper has been an absolute joy. So here is what I am experiencing and a track file is included: This week's goal was to learn the AN/ASQ-213 but after going through every tutorial I could find and switching up cold start/hot start/air start, single player/multiplayer I am fairly sure I have encountered a bug that I can't get past. I cannot get the HAD page to display contacts. They are showing up on the RWR as normal and also I know where some of these radar positions are being familiar with training maps (for example in this track file I know which sites are at STPT 7) but for the life of me I can't get the HAD page to display anything. It has never worked for me once though I know it works for others so unfortunately this may be system specific to me. The weird thing is (for known sites) if I carefully slew the HAD cursor around where I think it might be, even though there is no symbology showing up, I can cursor over them to the point the position data is displayed in the header of the HAD and I can even lock these phantom targets and hand off for launch. But to be clear, the HAD is apparently completely devoid of targets. This is for Caucasus, single and multiplayer (Hoggit - GAW server). Every time, all the time. VR and non-VR. Hopefully the track file is helpful, I tried to keep it as short as possible. System specs: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.00 GHz RAM 32.0 GB 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Windows 10 Home I'm crossing my fingers that I am just an idiot and missed something super simple. I'll take the embarrassment for some good SEAD action. G-Track01.trk -
So for a while now I've been thinking about all the FM artefacts we are seeing in DCS Range Cruise AOA is too low (3.2 vs 4.2 IRL) Low speed fuel burn is too high Bleed during turns is too low Sustained turn rate is too high (suspected) It's occurred to me that all of the above can be explained by hornet having too much lift, or more specifically a Lift/Drag ratio that's too high. If the airframe produces too much lift, then it wont need to meet the same AOA to fly level at a given speed, so we will see lower AOA values for cruise flight. If the fuel burn was calibrated for range cruise, it would have to be increased to account for this lower L/D. This would make the burn match the specific range charts for maximum range flight, but when you fly slower, the fuel burn becomes artificially increased above where it should, which is why the fuel burn is much higher than the specific range charts indicate at low speed. Too much L/D means less AOA required to make the G specified, so less AOA during turns, less AOA means less bleed. Same as point 3, less bleed means more thrust overhead. Hopefully ED will fix hornets FM at some point in the immediate, perhaps all thats needed is a simple L/D adjustment, perhaps more is needed, idk

Hey All, I have been saving targets, so that I can maneuver to a better firing position and then make it is easier to re-acquire the target. What I have noticed is that after saving and then re-slaving to the same target location, even if I don't move at all, then the TADS is not actually returning to the same spot. I have been very careful to zooming in fully and making sure I am exactly on the target spot that I want to save. The target has not moved. I am pretty sure that I have bore sighted the CPG properly prior to taking off. The TADS does not save the target spot and / or does not return to it exactly. Sometimes it is off by quite a bit of distance. This normal? If so, is it because the Apache uses 4 digit MGRS resolution vs the 5 digit resolution of like the A-10C? Thanks in advance, Caldera

Hi everyone, I was playing a MP mission and saw some strange stinger behaviour, it was losing guidance in the last sec and missing the TGT. I was able to reproduce it on SP. odd_stinger.trk

Hey guys. Working on getting George to behave but having trouble getting a hover. As you can see in the screenshot, I want George to hover at 750'. However George not only doesn't want to ascend to 750', he's descending. Are there other qualifications or parameters that need to be set before George can successfully follow orders? Is there a specific weight that the AH-64D has to be under for a hover to work? Thanks

Hi, so I keep the ball using my pedals very centered and as I am flying forward experiencing quite a drift to the right where I am pointing my nose to maintain course. I am observing the velocity vector indicator and slid/slip indicator, heading tape and attitude. No wind in this scenario. What am I doing wrong? Cheers!
