With the update on the 21.05.25 we got AAW and Hospital Markers on the map. While a neat idea this leads to two issues: Firstly it can lead ot confusion for players as they see SAM or EWR markers even if the mission has nothing there. Secondly and more important it causes issues for mission editor, as the markers are very big, do not scale very well and most importantly are not see through. So the only options are to either hide the "building" layer (which will also hide all buildings) or work exclusively in satellite mode. While fully removing them might not be in the interest of the developer I would suggest taking inspiration by the Sinai map as it already has a very similar feature. Scaling better with zoomlevel and being partially see through. .

In the description of the store page for part 1 it states part 2 would entail the combat employment of everything learned in part 1. Just wondering if this is still a consideration or in development? Loving the campaign so far, currently mission 3 on part 1. Thank for the already amazing training campaign. I wish there was these for all aircraft.

Video 12/09/2024 = Talking a little about the project. Hello community, I present to you the first test of the UH-1H Huey cockpit. In this particular case, it is for you to observe and help me correct proportions and general shapes. Much of the work is based on photographs, and while I try to be as precise as possible, perhaps someone with real experience with the aircraft might notice things that need correction. Don't expect anything usable, just a white structure of the larger components of the cockpit. In the file, you will find a .jpg image with the steps to follow for installation (it may break the integrity check, meaning multiplayer mode might not work). Today, I want to introduce you to a project I started a few days ago. I'd love to hear your opinions and perspectives on it. About the Project: The main idea of the project is to update our beloved but somewhat outdated UH-1H Huey. As a 3D artist, my primary focus will be on updating the module's graphical aspects with new 3D models and textures (we’ll discuss the scope of these changes and their implications later). However, I don't rule out the possibility that, with the community's help, the changes could be more comprehensive. Considering that the Huey's flight model is excellent, and its systems are quite complete, any improvements beyond aesthetics would likely involve adding new weapons or features. Images (WIP): Progress So Far: Currently, I have partially modeled the Huey's cockpit. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but so far, I think it's looking pretty good. I've attached images of the work in progress. I managed to run some tests in the simulator with the new cockpit added to the old model, and it looks quite promising. I still need to figure out how to make the file changes through the "saved games" folder to avoid breaking the Integrity Check (IC), which I currently have no idea how to do. If anyone is willing to help in this area, your contribution would be more than welcome. -- We need to replace the file located at: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Cockpit\Shape" named "Cockpit_UH-1H.edm" with a new file of the same name placed in the "saved games" folder. Project Scope: Regarding the project's scope, I envision several possible options. Over the past few days, I've conducted a series of surveys to gauge the community's reaction to the project. For now, the goal is the following: A completely free mod for the community that updates the cockpit with new 3D models, textures, and animations. There would be no new functionalities. We would need to find a way to include it as a mod that doesn’t break the Integrity Check. If that’s not possible, based on the survey responses, there would be little community interest in the mod (and therefore, not much reason to continue its development). For those who have installed the mod, the helicopter will function as usual, but with a significantly enhanced level of detail in the cockpit. For the moment, both the exterior model and the interior cargo area of the helicopter would remain as they are currently. Improves on those parts would cost lots of time for a free proyect. The Reason for the Project: Essentially, I usually do things out of pure enjoyment or whim. The Huey is one of my favorite modules; it’s easy to use, fun to fly, not too complex, yet you can spend quite a bit of time mastering it. Despite this, its graphics, especially the interior, are quite outdated. Therefore, a few months ago, I started thinking about updating its textures to the PBR format. This led to multiple challenges due to the way its UVs were created, preventing the proper use of an AO pass. So, I decided to start modeling the interior in 3D from scratch. Estimated Timeframe: There’s no ETA; this is a project I’ll be working on in my spare time. Other Possible Versions: For now, I would focus on the version we currently have. I’d love to be able to choose whether to add or remove the radar altimeter and the flare dispenser at will, to make it closer to versions used in earlier periods of the Huey’s history. I’d also love to add the option for side-mounted M60s without the external hardpoints, as used by Hueys in Vietnam. If I were to develop other versions, I would be interested in a "C" version with various weapon systems used during Vietnam. I’m not a big fan of glass cockpits, so I’m not interested in modeling more modern versions of the Huey. However, these ideas are more like "dreams" rather than concrete goals, and they would largely depend on community support (since beyond 3D art, aspects that require programming are not my strong suit). Hello, the last couple of weeks ive flowen the UH 1 a lot... and i noticed that the graphics are not up to date and the crew could be substantially overhauled. I thought about crew coms when the door gunner pick something up etc... And i still want to see the flechette rockets with the orange smoke when they explode. The Uh1 would definitely benefit from new Graphics Lightning and shadows... Hope this catches EDs eyes and they work on that... Thanks

Hey guys, I've tried everything to solve my replay problem. I'm hoping someone here has any insight into this issue. I enjoy playing DCS on multiplayer servers, and then editing the tracks via mission editor so that I can open up access to all the jets (blue and red). Then I replay the mission and can create some fun videos from different perspectives. After the last DCS update I can't even launch a simple replay "as-is", it just gives me a window that says, sorry DCS crashed can we collect your data and send it into no-mans land on the internet. I click sure, and sit there staring at my desktop after DCS shuts down. Any thoughts? I repaired, re-installed, removed mods (I just have the A-4e mod anyway), repaired windows, changed graphics settings... I mean, it worked before. What's changed now? I'm set up so I can use Virtual Desktop or quest link just so if one gest broke I have a back up. Been using Virtual Desktop most of the time popped back in with quest link for a quick flight my eyeballs feel like their going to pop out of my head. Everything looks fine but it feels like my eyes are straining to focus if that makes sense. Go back to Virt desktop no problem. This is just with DCS quest home screen and stuff seem to be fine. Was wondering if anyone else have run into this. My quest is on ver 69 on the computer app and headset I have tried this with and without my debug settings and different refresh with oculus J

Split larger Updates into parts, as in: Part I - Core Game Updates, Part II - Kola Map Update, Part III - Syria Map Update, Part IV - Aircraft Updates, Part V - Campaign Updates. So you can individually select, one or more, and then download, decompress and install, one at a time, or all at once. This can help to manage disk space during for download, decompression and installation, if you don't have enough disk space.

The other day there was a "Cumulative update" to windows (23H2 i think) and i also recently updated my Nvidia drivers (551.52), but now when i try launch DCS, both normal & mt, the nvidia splash comes up, then the DCS 15 years splash comes up, and then the game just crashes. Ive attached the log file, from "savegames/dcs/logs", but as the game never actually launches, i dont know how helpful it is!! While in there i did notice a "dcs.log.old" file, should i perhaps delete that? i also attached the windows version im now running. Systems a 13700kf, 32gb ddr5, rtx 3090, nvme ssd dcs.log

Hi guys, As a @Screenchecker pointed out, after the latest updates the AI increased their sniper level to "God", so when you land in a certain LZ, you get blasted, thus making it a very hot LZ, a bit hotter than hell. Since my goal is to keep these missions cooler I have came up with an update. My oculus software updated a few day ago and for me it messed with the 90hz option. I'm running 4128x2096. While flying about ever 10 seconds the headset acts like it loses tracking for a spit second and the whole image jumps. 72hz and 80 are working fine so far. Just though I would post this in case someone else was chasing their tail trying to figure out what was going on. J

Been messing around with Virtual desktop comparing it to link cable. Virtual Desktop is running smooth everything looks great except for the MFD's (f 18). The text is fuzzy/blurry on all 3 with link cable text is sharp and clear. I have tried different codex, bitrates,sharpening, ultra godlike and such. Just curious if I'm missing something or if this is just the way Virtual Desktop is. Im running a 5800x3d with a 6950xt gpu 64 ram on a 5ghz router. Plus are the any Oculus debug tool settings that might help and what are you running your Quest Pro 72 hz 90hz and slider settings. As always thanks for any input J

Since using flightsim.to for msfs, ive found theres some pretty easy additions that could be made to the User Files section to make it much more user friendly, and also allow users to track updates better and thus have a smoother overall experience. Would love to see the following:- -Ability to subscribe/follow files and/or creators -Receive notifications when a new version is available -Receive notifications when another user replies to a comment you've left, instead of manually having to check back, which is not only more user friendly but also helps strengthen the community -The ability to donate to creators, which may motivate creators to make more content, and also be compensated for their time I think this would make a huge difference to the overall user experience, and ultimately help people engage with others in the community

Hello, I'm trying to get my DCS to update, but every time it tries, I get the same error: Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_downloads\CoreMods/aircraft/ChinaAssetPack/Textures/Vehicles/plz05/PLZ05-glass.dds to C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods/aircraft/ChinaAssetPack/Textures/Vehicles/plz05/PLZ05-glass.dds: (1392) The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. I tried deleting the file and reinstalling it but it's always this specific PLZ05-glass.dds file that stops the install. How can I continue the update? Regards, Tech

Hi, As a fan of the swiss F5, I noticed in the loading screen that there was an vhf antenna, I then checked in more detail and noticed some new stuff around the exhaust. Then I went to find a screen from the official website of the f5 and did some comparison with the in game one. It seems really close to a swiss one as you could see in a patrouille suisse picture closeup. Is a new 3d model or a new F5 variant coming?

It has been a few years since the Hornet was launched. It would be nice if ED could update us on the progress of the Hornet. Several weapons, including the Sea Mine and Fire Bomb, are still not delivered, either due to core engine limitations or other reasons. The HOTAS functionality seems to need an update (as I recall Wags mentioned in a podcast, though I might be mistaken). Is there any update planned for the Hornet's flight model? There are still some weapons missing on the Viper, such as the Sniper pod and towed decoy. We haven't heard about MDC, the dynamic campaign, and Vulkan since 2019. Thanks ED

I have a very slow internet connection. It sucks, but that's life... see the attached image. Sometimes I've had to cancel downloading an update before it has completed and I was wondering what happens to the files that have already been downloaded. Do they get deleted or do they get kept? I think it would be nice to have a pause option so that long downloads can be recommenced. Is that possible? Thanks in advance, Goggz

Some journalist research were posted about Russian Tu-22M3 Backfire's dislocation recently. https://www.radiosvoboda.org/a/news-skhemy-armiya-rf-aerodrom-mozdok/32471034.html While researching satellite photos I noticed some differences between planes parking places in DCS and IRL on Mozdok airbase. For example, some of Backfires were standing on aprons number 23, 24 and 25 (according to DCS numberation). Also, the very right spot, which is not marked as a parking place in DCS, is also used for Tu-22M3 parking. I made some graphics to comparise satellite photos to DCS screenshot. Also, I have some doubts about current status of parking spots with numbers from 32 to 39. According to Google Maps, it seems that taxiway, which connects them with main apron, is now cut off, and these parkings are currently used only for ground vehicles. Some parking spots, apron and control tower seems to be removed as well. Marked them with ? signs and arrows on picture n.2 If i didn't notice some more changes, feel free to correct me in this topic.

Hi All, I recently updated DCS to latest version and since then I am experiencing stutters/lags in performance which really ruins the experience for me. I am not sure what has changed in latest update, however before the update everything was running smoothly on my current settings (High). All of NVidia drivers are up to date and DCS is installed on SSD. As I said before the update everything was running fine with no lags or stutters. I am on open beta version Anyone experiencing similar issues? dcs.log
