VincentLaw Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) However, Zeus mention having to build the a2g radar. My question is, how is this used in the aircraft. From what I've read, you can't paint your own LGB bombs, and you mentioned the A2S missiles can't be used by this variant, so I was wondering how we will.. (Should) be able to use this? We are getting a Mirage 2000C S5 which comes equipped with an RDI radar. This plane can use the radar for ground range finding to make CCIP more accurate as well as terrain avoidance. That is basically all it can do. You can't detect or lock ground targets with it. Apparently the RDI was originally intended to be capable of more advanced features like terrain mapping, but the the Mirage 2000C S5 does not support that capability. BaD CrC Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 an old video from adamod 2 but.. I love it ! :) 9_c3fPF8dcI Top 3 best video I have seen for lockon or DCS. Action, rythm, amazing shots and great tune. Genius. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden

jojo Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Hey jojo, been following this thread with much enthusiasm (and tbh a lot of humor with all of these variants popping into the information basis and how much confusion has resulted). I'm asking you because you seem to know the mirage variant specifically in question and I wanted to know, with all of the a2a capabilities, this mirage looks amazing. However, Zeus mention having to build the a2g radar. My question is, how is this used in the aircraft. From what I've read, you can't paint your own LGB bombs, and you mentioned the A2S missiles can't be used by this variant, so I was wondering how we will.. (Should) be able to use this? Thanks much, Hobbsy Even if dedicated to AA role, the Mirage 2000 C RDI radar has both basic mapping mode (VIS) and terrain avoidance (DEC). Here you can see the color terrain avoidance display on RDM Mirage 2000P @ 1:01 [ame]https://youtu.be/k2FEv0LdBoI?t=1m1s[/ame] Both these features seems to be a problem in DCS world right now, so it's unlikely to see it for beta release, and probably final release too. But it's not Razbam fault. No DCS plane has a real AG radar right now. It may change soon (hopefully) since it's needed for up to come DCS F/A-18... No AG missiles but GBU-12/16/24 have been qualified on the whole Mirage 2000 family in France. Currently Mirage 2000C is used as bomb truck in team with Mirage 2000D in Barkhane operation in Sahara desert. Both planes carry 2 GBU-12 and the Mirage 2000D is used to guide the bombs of both planes. In DCS you will have to use A-10C or ground JTAC to paint target wit laser. This is DCS feature you can use right now with A-10C. As already said, in AG the radar is used for ranging in order to compute firing solution in cooperation with INS system. mattebubben Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Does anyone know if the KA-50 will be able to laze for a Mirage? or is it not compabtible with western weapons?
QuiGon Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Does anyone know if the KA-50 will be able to laze for a Mirage? or is it not compabtible with western weapons? I don't think it's compatible. It doesn't work with the A-10C either as far as I know. Zeus67 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Quick question: What kind of audible cues are there for the radar warning receiver? Should we expect detailed audio cues like in Falcon 4 BMS? Unfortunately we don't have any information about the Thales RWR so this is an educated guess based on similar devices. So that applies to the sounds as well. jojo Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Question: Will it be possible to see our own position in relation to the bullseye? You have to enter the BE as a waypoint. So you will have your position/ BE by selecting it on INS. Then HSI and INS control unit can show bearing/ distance to BE, while radar screen displays radar cursor position/ BE. Mirage fanatic ! For Open Beta, the INS will only allow you to navigate through a flight plan created with the mission. The ability to add/modify waypoints will be available on full release. I wanted to give you that ability from the start but the schedule prevented me from doing so. Harke Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 so a little question I hope you can answer, can you tell us if the beta will begin early, middle or late in December ? :)
