Scrim Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) This is why we can't have nice streams. You're right, I'm dreadfully sorry for pointing out something that literally speaking every human being with an internet connected computer/smartphone/tablet could have seen  Personally I don't care if that and those folders were seen intentionally or not, I like it because A, it indicates that there's more going on and B, that LS are smart enough not to announce a new module the moment they've finished a skin for it, unlike certain developers. statrekmike Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I have been thinking about how GCI would work in DCS, I mean, I know that it is still no doubt being worked on and that means that definitive answers might be difficult to give but I was wondering what the team has planned in that regard?
Lord_Pyro Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Given the current awacsmodel it will probably go in that direction but instead of informing you globally about incoming threats, it will pick just one conctact and provide you continuous information about heading, speed and altitude. Grim_Smiles Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 You're right, I'm dreadfully sorry for pointing out something that literally speaking every human being with an internet connected computer/smartphone/tablet could have seen  I think he was just playing around Scrim, lol. It is interesting, but I don't think there is much to it at the moment (though I could of course be wrong, that has happened once or twice). Sometimes I think the devs like to troll us a bit. Especially since people have even assumed what the upcoming module will be based on Wags' gif avatar switching randomly. Hard to tell what it might be. A lot of those JP aircraft during the war had similar lines to an extent. And they all fireball quite nicely with a good .50 burst:smilewink: Like Javelina said, if it has a meatball on the wings it is boom and zoom time:pilotfly: "Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down; To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire" (RIG info is outdated, will update at some point) i5 @3.7GHz (OC to 4.1), 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, TrackIR 5 & TrackClip Pro, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, Razer Blackshark Headset, Obutto Ozone
Wissam24 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Like Javelina said, if it has a meatball on the wings it is boom and zoom time:pilotfly: Pretty sure it was that attitude that led to a lot of RAF pilots being shot down by US ones because of their roundels.
Pyroflash Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Pretty sure it was that attitude that led to a lot of RAF pilots being shot down by US ones because of their roundels. What were RAF pilots doing in the Pacific? If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
outlawal2 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 What were RAF pilots doing in the Pacific? Apparently being shot down by Americans that were in great need of glasses! :P "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
Scrim Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 What were RAF pilots doing in the Pacific? Flying I presume. Apart from fighting for their lives in India and Burma from day one to the end, they also had a naval presence. It was thanks to them that the US Navy switched from wooden flight deck carriers to metal ones IIRC. When American carriers were hit by bombs, or kamikazes, at best you'd end up with a carrier going back to Pearl Harbour for a long time, with hundreds of dead as a result, whereas the metal decks of RN carriers would literally speaking see kamikazes ricochet right of, with minimal casualties and a flight deck that could often be used after quick in theater repairs if needed.

Apparently being shot down by Americans that were in great need of glasses! In DCS what's a little blue-on-blue between friends? SithSpawn you seem like a nice guy, you wouldn't be mad that I shot up your spitfire because I thought your last name was Tanaka right? J7G Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 So I'm 99% sure of the answer to this but I'll ask anyway just for piece of mind. The real life manual will still be exactly relevant, right? Just to be sure before I go printing and learning it.
Irregular programming Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 If there isn't a manual in Klingon I'll be really mad!
cichlidfan Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Right now they have a shot a being the first third party to complete a manual. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Grim_Smiles Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Right now they have a shot a being the first third party to complete a manual. Ba-zing!:D LOL J7G my understanding is 99% as well that the real life manual applies. However, based on dev comments the current MiG-21 isn't the same beast as the one originally started, so things could have changed. The manual likely still applies I'm sure, but with things changing it'll be a good idea to hold off that printing until Cobra/Rudel/Dolphin pop in to confirm. I'm sure they will stop by soon, especially to address all of our manual language requests:D "Hurled headlong flaming from the ethereal sky; With hideous ruin and combustion down; To bottomless perdition, there to dwell; In adamantine chains and penal fire" (RIG info is outdated, will update at some point) i5 @3.7GHz (OC to 4.1), 16GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB, TrackIR 5 & TrackClip Pro, TM Warthog HOTAS, VKB T-Rudder Mk.IV, Razer Blackshark Headset, Obutto Ozone
GeorgeLKMT Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I can't find any information about this (and what was said during beczl era might be irrelevant by now), but may I ask if the steam release is on the table? Thanks. ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
Wissam24 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 What were RAF pilots doing in the Pacific? Fighting the Japanese. You know the US wasn't the only ally in the Pacific, right?
