marluk Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I'm wondering if somebody knows something why there is no official updates from recently and where is Wags? I've got addiction on at least one official news a week and now when it's gone I feel the pain in my bones all the time. I'm sorry if this is not appropriate place to start this thread. I've got addiction on at least one official news a week and now when it's gone I feel the pain in my bones all the time. We haven't had weekly updates in quite some time so I would imagine that pain is becoming rather bothersome. ;) These days, Wags posts when he has something, of significance, to say. I have checked Wags posts, the last one is from 2-23-2014 that he got contact that he needs about RFI for M1A2 SEP. I'm not complaining just wondering. Hope this silence is just teaser for upcoming big updates. [B]*NOB* Lucky[/B] [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Tko vrijedi leti, tko leti vrijedi, tko ne leti ne vrijedi

EtherealN Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Sure. I believe he is busy. But how much time takes to write one sentence "We are busy on preparing ...". I'm starting to worry about him  More time than you think . PR has to be planned, subjects checked, facts checked, pictures sourced and vetted etc etc. Information control also has to happen, since devs work in closed dev code and can have inprogress features visible that may ormay not be for public products, may be unfinished and lead to speculation and false hopes etc. What looks like a quick forum post can easily have a full day of work behind it. And considering a work week is 5 days... ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

Boberro Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 As far I've been told Russian side has much more "free hand" than English. This is why Russians always are few steps ahead. Flagrum Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Yes, ofc it is to be expected that activity RUS > ENG. But in the context of the current silence it is more like "RUS > 0" edit: So there is no general change in policy. Only just a change in the ENG policy ....

Silver_Dragon Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 just a personal opinion from a distance, watching the scene from outside : - The Russian community DCS : W feels loved by the development team : 1. Interact and there is feedback between developers and the community. 2. Details about news or improvements being made at the base and add-ons allowed . Making more bearable waiting . 3. More interactions , including personal projects that improve DCS : World. 4. Native language , improving communication ( Russian) - The English ( international) community believes to be " punished " for their actions. 1. Slight little interaction and feedback between developers and the community. Often ending in misunderstandings , leading to increasingly long silences on development. 2. Privacy closed communication ( Valve time , new regulations, etc. ) , affected by point one. 3. Less interaction due to the lack of knowledge, information or language barrier . 4. ED Team NineLine Posted March 12, 2014 ED Team Posted March 12, 2014 All this goes back to what EtherealN already said, most team members are Russian speaking, living in Russia, its easier for them to engage in general chatter on the Russian side. We can either learn Russian, or appreciate what we do get from the team, or from hard working news hounds such as yourself ;) just a personal opinion from a distance, watching the scene from outside : - The Russian community DCS : W feels loved by the development team : 1. Silver_Dragon Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I know we're doing a great job for the non-Russian community. But do you think some might think .... (and in this I would play devil's advocate) .... "I'm not Russian, I do not speak Russian, then, does not care or interested to Eagle Dynamics?" Would bet any thing to more than one it's happened this comment by the head. Would bet any thing to more than one it's happened this comment by the head. I get what you are saying, but most of the comments are in general conversation and not official announcements, most of the Russian speaking dev team doesnt engage in general conversation with the English side for the obvious reason that they are perhaps not comfortable with English, some exceptions of course are Yo-Yo, or c0ff and a couple others. And even with Yo-Yo, some of his larger posts on the Russian side, he doesnt share on the English side because of translation issues. So I get the concerns you are suggesting, but I dont think its the case, and its more so what I suggest, I think you see stuff from Wags that arent mirrored on the Russian side, so I think it goes both ways in that sense. I think with a multi-language forum/team, its something we just have to deal with, I know it looks like it could be better on the outside, but I dont think its always as easy as it seems, especially, as I said, a lot of the comments are general chit chat, and not official statements. karambiatos Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 From what i see, the Russian forums seem to be much nicer, and they dont seem to take everything a devs says as an announcement, and that it will definitely happen. But also the problem is both ways, something is sometimes announced by wags, and theres no indication of it in the Russian part. A 1000 flights, a 1000 crashes, perfect record. =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC"] Check out my random mods and things
