So I am a bit hesitant to start this up so soon but as long as we are mature :D and refrain from asking questions we already know the official answer to (I.e. RRG) then this could be a good place to collate our questions and feedback.

Questions:

1) Will physical gifts from the kickstarter such as aircraft manuals etc be delivered?

2) Will the backers who selected early access to the DCS WWII Fw 190 get the access to this aircraft when it enters Beta testing?

3) When will the keys for released aircraft (i.e. P-51) be sent?

4) Will backers have access to aircraft at the alpha development stage?

5) Are the announced module release dates the beta backer release dates or release dates for all?

6) Will a SDK be made available for those that backed?

7) Will the backers get to decide the free aircraft?

Feedback:

In the Fw 190 WIP Manual Page 27 states that the V.D.M VS 111 Propeller is metal while they are in fact made from wood (It is currently modelled as wood in the sim).

Thanks chaps, now please I implore you to keep this clean and I will update the list as the questions come.

I would like to know, if the physicals items are still to be provided, can we see examples of them before making our choice?

PC:

I'd like to know about the physical items too; also I would kindly ask if backers will get access to flyables in DCS World as soon as they are released as "modules" (assuming one has backed to the appropriate level), or we'll have to wait for DCS: WWII to be released as single package. Thanks!

Item 1, should be covered by this statement.

Eagle Dynamics though will be continuing its development and honor all Kickstarter backer commitments.

I'm biting.

When will I receive the DCS World P-51D keys which were promised as Kickstarter reward for October '13 and which I already selected on the http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/backer/ website back in March?

Many thanks.

MAC

There are two forms of reward for the P-51, one delivered as a DCS World key (that gave immediate access to) and the other as part of the whole DCS Europe: 1944 (to be released with the first Alpha/beta), makes sure you have selected the right one.

Yes, I know. I'm eligible for 8 Rewards, and have chosen 4 DCS World P-51D and 4 DCS World Fw 190 D-9 keys. They're all showing as accepted, the question was when the P-51D keys will be delivered, they should have been back in October (by RRG, but now by ED). For the Fw 190 it's clear that they're not available yet.

Is the plan to still release DCS WW2 as a separate install from DCS World?

The new development timeline for each component is so different from the original plan will we have to wait until all the planes, ground units, and map are completed and in a single package before we get access to any of it?

How will Alpha/Beta access to each component be handled?

We have gone from a late 2014 delivery estimate to a much later date for all the components.

It was planned to be decided by a funders vote. It has never happened though.

From ED's perspective, maybe they should just make it the Mustang since it already has the most market saturation. That way they won't loose as much revenue as they might from making it one of the other aircraft.

Well, looks like ED has decided to deliver now the P-51 to all the one that backed for it instead of waiting for the release of Europe: 1944

Just hope that won't take as long as it already has :)

Well considering I am asking a lot of the questions, and am just as interested in hearing the answer, it shouldnt take quite as long, unless I piss Wags off with all my question asking :)

Guys, the KS campaign was a contract, everything promised will be honored I'm sure

The kickstarter 'contract' is somewhat of a separate issue, since it was not an agreement with ED.

Kickstarter is an investment, and just like any investment has risks. At this point, if ED had not picked up the project, we would be left with nothing. As far as I can tell, they have no obligation to fulfill promises made by another company. I'm just glad they are following through on what they can and look forward to what they offer.

I would not have "invested" if ED was not involved. They know that their reputation is at least loosly tied to this and I am glad they are taking care of their customers as we knew they would.

It was a steal more like.

I backed at 30$ thinking it was 2 aircraft which already was a bargain, but wind up with 5 aircraft rewards which is just silly, not to mention the 1$ backers.

"June 2014 Update

We would first like to apologize for the long delay in projects updates. Since the last update from Luthier, there have been some significant changes in how this project will be developed and managed. No longer will RRG be developing this project and Luthier has ceased his involvement in the project. Eagle Dynamics though will be continuing its development and honor all Kickstarter backer commitments. There is nothing more we can say about this change and it is not open for discussion
