The customer, has the final say in everything, they can either buy the product or not. Buying is good for the devs, not buying is obviously not their goal.

Allowing customers to express their feelings is something that shouldn't be taken lightly, as it can directly affect the success of a module. And whats scary, is that for every person who is posting on here complaining, there are probably 25 more who feel the same way yet never post. If the customers feel alienated after the process, they may go and buy other modules instead, which for the Mig-21, it may not be as much of a difference since there aren't any other full fidelity fighters, but I'm talking about more in the future when there are many other products from the other 3rd party devs.

I'm also a little upset to see others, who feel they have a right to call out the other "complainers." I mean no offense by this, but your opinions don't have any superiority over theres. Your free to express the dissatisfaction of complaining, but It's sad to see others belittle the ones that are complaining over the issues. Its great that you have superior patience and what not, but chances are, the ones who are complaining are the biggest supporters of the module. Most aren't complaining just for the hell of it, they are genuinely upset. Yes, I understand that this module has been in development for a few years, and that "an extra few weeks won't mean anything." Well there is a breaking point that comes, and for many people it will eventually become that time, where they start pursuing other modules, or different games outside of DCS completely. If "just a few weeks extra" happened over and over, years could pass by without it being released.

But as I mentioned, those who are complaining may be some of the most dedicated fans. If they are left disappointed for too long, they may seriously reconsider they views on any future modules, and as such may not help fund future projects through Indigogo or Kickstarter or anything. That could be a serious consequence moving forward if they needed public funding again for the next time around. As they may support other developers actions moving forward.

This thread has seem to luckily had less "misinformation" posted. All that is being posted mostly were about the livestream that was supposed to happen today, and with no suprise didnt. Everyone is going be discussing about the update next week, and about the promo copies. Those have been said to be occurring, and if they don't there will of course be people that are upset over it, and there will be discussion. And if those actions DO happen, there will be a lot of excitement in the forums I'm sure, which would be a good thing at this point.

Very well said. I've crowd funded this project as it was the first but after all the crowd funding flops that's happened in these forums, I'm never going to crowd fund anything ever again.

No broken promises, and no firm release dates have ever been made.

The project was rescued through Herculean effort and personal sacrifice by the team that have stuck with it.

At the end of the day, ALL third party developers are flying in the dark when they embark on these projects.

They put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into developing what we all want, and naturally encounter serious obstacles that could not have been forseen at the outset. Most would just give up, and walk away. Leatherneck, and VEAO haven't.

You're not naysayers, you're simply stating opinions, and that's understandable. I sympathise with anyone who has grown more and more anxious about getting hold of what we all hope will be excellent packages.

Do you honestly imagine for a second that someone who has invested huge amounts of time, and gone deeply into debt doesn't want to get the whole project completed, and start a revenue stream instead of a financial black hole? What for one second makes any of you imagine that the developers aren't just as keen to get their products to the marketplace?

Is a live stream that essential to you that you'll go into apoplexy if you don't have it? Does a few weeks of delay make the product less, or more likely to be bug free, and fulfill your expectations?

Enough said?

I agree also. This time they "had" to update people on project progress cause of the indiegogo initial campaign, maybe. But I won't be surprised (and almost I hope that) if the next project won't be even announced if not ready for a openbeta release... or a pre-final situation.

There are surely some reason if developers speak of their project to the community even if the basically just at the beginning, but honestly a LOT of people can't simply understand how this kind of work is done... and what unexpected problems can emerge even at the last second. Also, DCS developer work for years on a "mod" that has to be integrated in a simulation environment that continue to change while I still developing and will change also after my release... hoping that those changes won't break anything on my product: think about UH-1H: there are people in their forum that still say that it's not complete cause you can't have multicrew.... while it has been said "n" times that it's a current engine limitation that has nothing to do with Belsimtek work: first is needed to upgrade DCS World... etc etc.

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Yeah, the delays are frustrating. But wow! A MiG-21 developed directly (in part) by a real (and current) Fishbed driver. Holy smokes! :O

I can't wait. Haven't been this excited and nervous over a release in years.

Exactly. It's the team behind the module that has me hooked. A partly disabled former US marine who is rivet-crazy, a Swedish graphics artist, a Romanian coder and a Serbian MiG-21 pilot. It doesn't get more varied than that.

Besides, they're pretty much on this forum daily answering questions, much unlike other 3rd party products (DCS: WWII comes to mind). And of course the legendary MiG-21, the AK-47 of the skies.

If you can't handle the wait, don't crowdfund and bitchpost here.

A new day, fresh pot of coffee, and a nice full 6 pages of interesting discussion.

Anyway -- The Livestream was never going to be done by LN, it will be done by one of our partner outlets who is a fairly popular streamer.

It was not possible in part due to the 1.3.0 migration, and in part due to the timing of the 4th of July weekend.

But, please, continue busting my balls for saying it was LIKELY coming. ;)

And yes, update today.

Since the module is now in testing with ED, maybe some of them could tell us when they will approve publication.

Totally not.

(...)

2) We don't know on which version we will ship yet.

We're branching off development and actively working with 1.3.0 -- but that probably does not mean a release on 1.2.8 (or a subpatch thereof) is impossible.

(...)

It means we're branching off development and making sure the aircraft runs properly on 1.3.0.

I appreciate today isn't quite over yet, but ummmm have I missed the update, can't seem to find it anywhere, well apart from a post asking for video suggestions which isn't an update as far as I'm aware?

Not moaning to checking I've not missed anything?
